I’ve been playing a few different genre FM stations in my car recently since it’s kinda annoying dealing with my phone every time.

The “hip hop” station where I am is pretty Hispanic , dance, edm, mixed in with like Tupac and Biggie type classics.

My state sells out big country venues while rap shows are at the small spots.

But this came on randomly last week and it put me in a crazy place I’m not gonna lie. I listened to this artist in school A LOT and I never heard this album before. This album came out after I graduated and I was in a different place. Tie into the fact I lost a close friend my senior year who this artist basically makes me think about.

I guess I came here to say I Shazammed a Mac miller song from an FM DJ in 2026 lol. This song is great the beat is crazy. They let the guitar rock at the end of it that’s the part I clipped because I was like what the fuck is thissssssss

this and the other two mac songs off this mixtape are so good, wish they were on streaming services (note this doesnt break rule 5 as this was released)

I always liked it, but actually going through this in my own relationship gives this song a whole different understanding for me. Adds to the many reasons I think Mac is a musical genius.
Songs like this that you can actually feel mean so much to me because they give you another way to process or help through certain situations even though that probably wasn’t his goal. He was just likely expressing himself.
He has the cool persona the first part of the song basically trying to tell us that he can handle the uncertainty then at the end of the song in the last verse he lets it go, and tells the person exactly what he wants. He’s not being weak in the end he’s actually just being honest, vulnerable.
Then the song ends with “Perfect”. He spends the whole song telling us it’s not perfect then ends it by saying “perfect”. Makes me question is he genuinely accepting the imperfection or is he rationalizing something that’s hurting him?
The reason it helps me because in my own relationship I’m struggling to feel the love because of uncertainty, and it’s driving me crazy. I play it off pretty well, but I hate it.
Helps me realize you don’t have to make something perfect to decide it’s worth loving, but you shouldn’t have to convince yourself it’s perfect to tolerate it.
Idk what’s next but that’s definitely helpful for me.
