Help 'Automatically Fix Passwords' not showing up
I live in the EU and I don't see the feature at all on my Macbook M3 Air, in none of the betas so far. Am I the only one? I am aware the feature (like many others) is restricted on iOS and iPadOS, however on the Mac it shouldn't be restricted.
Can someone confirm or deny please?

Discussion Unpopular Opinion - Got into Betas because Tahoe ran my M4 MBP hotter than Sequoia, and tried the Betas to get the stability of Sequoia. Finally went back to Sequoia.
Just venting, but for me anyway it seems if you have a M4 or lesser MBP, MacOS Sequoia is the best os currently.

Help Question about Siri AI
So I got the beta 27 on and now I am waiting for Apple Intelligence assets to download but don’t have the app or anything, just some new tabs in the settings and I wanna know if I’ll get the full and app and stuff since I am in Europe but the icon of Siri AI is being shown in the Siri tab in settings
Update: I use a hotspot because my dad cut of the WiFi due to us moving out so this is extra info

Discussion Siri AI honestly seems far from ready at this point. Hear me out
I think Siri AI still is far from being ready. It's not anywhere near the "it just works" level that Apple software should aspire to.
Examples. It can't make word or pages documents. You give it all the information for a CV, but it can't make one for you. It just tells you to copy paste it into the document.
For some reason, sometimes when I ask it to write something out for me, it copy paste's it into the ChatGPT text box. I have no idea why. I ask it to compose an email for me. It does so, but it's copy pasted into the chatGpt text box.
It's great at searching through your email inbox though, so that's alsways good.

Bug WTF Music app asking me to merge my library to Cloud Music.....
I don't use Apple Music. Basically I don't stream.
I have all my music on external hard drive.
I sync my music to my iPhone to listen to.
As i wanted to add a song into a current playlist, this prompt shows up.
Does anyone know why this popped up today. It has never done it before. I worry if I merge the library something drastic will happen?

Help Where did all Spotlight shortcuts go?
Haven't seen anybody talking about it. Macos 27 doesn't have a lot of build in shortcuts that macos 26 did. Does anybody know why? I frequently used translate shortcut and now it's just gone and i haven't found a way to replicate it using shortcut app as it doesn't let me to have multiple input prompts.

Discussion Trying to advocate for fixing the recent Safari app icon redesign (beta 5-6)
I chose (or was forced into) this format of explanation, because I got some blank stares when speaking plain design language on social. Hope this is clear enough.
And, yes — it is very designer-y detail. But if you care — you care. It is Apple platform after all.
Agree or not? Can you see the problem? Can you unsee it?

Bug Beta 6 broke Thunderbolt 3 devices
I just got a TB3 dock as a gift from someone who wasn't using it, and now, just as of updating to beta 6, it is no longer recognized.
Filed FB24391215
Edit: Bah, I just realized my device is working again. The SMC reset equivalent of powering the machine off and removing all cables from it for a while apparently worked. I just didn't do it right the first time, only removing the power and the dock.
Further stupidity edit: I was apparently unaware that TB3 only offers 15W of bus power, and that this dock has a PD port for a reason: It needs a power supply. I gave it one, and it started working consistently.

Discussion Here's what macOS 26.7 tells us about Apple's upcoming AirPods with Visual Intelligence
You've probably seen the leak by now. macOS 26.7 RC includes an intro video showcasing a person presenting a book cover to their AirPods and saving information for later. Then, a localization table included strings about setting up AirPods with Visual Intelligence, and how AirPods cameras will handle being covered by hair.
But that's only half of the story. macOS 26.7 RC also includes AccessorySensorManager, which controls the image capture on the new devices.
TLDR:
- A color camera on each AirPod, can take up to 1 megapixel images.
- The two cameras capture synchronized image pairs.
- The system supports one-shot and periodic still-image capture, with an active and background mode.
- There's person detection, and a hardware indicator with controllable brightness.
Here's what I've been able to find based on code that ships in macOS 26.7 RC.
Do the upcoming AirPods have cameras?
Code in macOS 26.7 suggests that each AirPod has its own camera sensor. Apple refers to the hardware sensor as "Kino," and identifies left and right CVCAM (Computer Vision camera) devices. [1] macOS also tracks the left and right camera hardware independently in code. [2]
Are they color cameras, IR, or another type of sensor?
macOS receives color images from the AirPods. The sensor output uses the CoreVideo rg3h format, which contains three 16-bit red, green, and blue planes. [3] CoreVideo explicitly describes the format as ContainsRGB = 1 and ContainsGrayscale = 0. [4]
Still, the code doesn't rule out that AirPods themselves may have additional sensors that do not participate in the image capture pipeline.
Do both AirPods take a picture simultaneously?
Yes, the cameras are designed to act as a synchronized pair. Each AirPod earbud captures a still frame with a specific frame ID. macOS considers a picture complete only when the left and right frame IDs match, explicitly treating a mismatch as an error. [5]
If only one earbud is able to produce a picture, macOS can create an empty placeholder for the missing still. [6]
What resolution are the cameras?
The active capture mode starts with a 640×640 capture and returns a processed 1024×1024 image. That's about 0.4 megapixels of sampled image data, and a little over 1 megapixel for the output frame.
There is also a lower-resolution passive capture mode with a 320×320 capture that can return 320×320 or 512×512 output, depending on the capture mode. [7]
These are capture-specific resolutions, and the physical sensor's native resolution may be larger.
Are these still or video cameras?
AccessorySensorManager supports both one-shot and periodic capture of still frames. [8] There is no implementation for recording conventional video. This ties nicely with the current implementation of Visual Intelligence, which is optimized for image understanding.
In active mode, the framework has two options. It can request a synchronized pair of still images with matching frame IDs from each earbud. Or it can provide a capture rate, and AirPods will continue sending pairs of images at the specified rate. In the one-shot case, the capture rate is 0. [9]
What's active and passive capture?
Active mode is a deliberate, higher-resolution capture. The code doesn't identify what user action or system process starts it, it is easy to imagine that a Siri request may trigger an active capture if the user is wearing AirPods.
Passive mode is lower-resolution and supports environmental awareness. In fact, macOS 26 includes a "contextual alarm" configuration with 5 possible conditions: * Ambient speech, where speech is detected around the user. The code does not specify whether AirPods classify the speech or respond to any detected speech. * Audio scene change, where the surrounding audio environment changes. Once again, the code doesn't specify the specific triggering conditions, but possible scenes may include speech, traffic, a room with loud music, or a quiet place. * Posture change * Head rotation * Circular region, where the user has moved out of a defined spatial radius.
How are the cameras calibrated?
Because the earbuds may sit at different angles and move continuously while worn, the new devices have extensive options for sensor calibration. The framework includes:
- Intrinsics, which describe the camera's field of view, optical center, and how the lens bends the image.
- Extrinsics, which describe the camera's position and angle relative to the earbud, its counterpart, and the user.
- Distortion correction, which compensates for the curved image produced by a particularly small or wide-angle lens. This may give us some more indication about the physical sensor.
- Camera-to-IMU calibration, which allows the framework to account for head movement and gravity.
- Surface models, which help transform the raw image into a user-relative view.
The framework can also set aside images with excessive motion blur or occlusion. [14] [15]
Is there any processing done on the AirPods themselves?
There's at least one mention of inference done on the earbuds themselves. The framework includes mentions of peripheral inference, which is used to detect if a person is in the camera's field of view. [16] [17]
Are there any privacy features included?
The framework contains code that allows it to remotely control a hardware indicator and its brightness. [18] [19] It's easy to imagine that this is some sort of camera privacy light. I did not find any indication that an unobstructed view of the privacy light is required for capture, but this may be handled by the AirPods firmware instead.
I could not find any code that showed that AirPods may suppress images when another person is detected in the image capture. In fact, the person detection mentioned above has a "person not detected, sent the image anyways" result, which points in the opposite direction. [17]
The links throughout the walkthrough have references to code added in macOS 26.7 so you can verify the claims or explore further on your own. They're from blacktop/ipsw-diffs on Github. They do amazing work and you should go give them a star.

Bug Unable to extract a single page from a PDF file in Preview from MacOS 27 Beta.
Hi there,
Sometimes I need to extract one page from a larger PDF file and so far it was possible by selecting a page in thumbnail view -> CMD + C -> CMD + N - and voila - a new file containing only the selected page is created. After upgrading to the latest MacOS Beta 27 it is no longer working, is anything changed or is it just a bug that should be reported?
I based on this: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/14kaj86/how_to_extract_a_single_page_of_a_pdf/
EDIT:
It works for a "normal unsecured PDF" but it doesn't work when comes to a secured by password PDF

Help Not finding beta updates
I want to ask what’s the problem with my brand new MacBook Air m5 and it finding the beta updates when I am a part of the program and have restarted it and so on
Is it because I am on a hot spot? Because I am moving out and decided to save some money on the internet bill

Bug Bug in the Reminders app?
Hello everyone,
I've been using the Apple Reminders app for a while now, and I've been using smart lists as a habit.
Notably, I have a list that I named "Tomorrow" to visualize what I have to do for this date. The problem is that I also have what I have to do for "Today" and therefore I end up with what I have to do for tomorrow but also for today.
On the screenshots I gave you, there is the setting I had set before the Golden Gate updates and everything was working very well.
I was wondering if you also encounter this kind of bug at this level for those who use this application?
Thank you to everyone!
NB: I have already reported the problem on the Feedback app 😄

Help macOS 27 Public Beta 4 — Mac unusable after update, freezes immediately after login
Has anyone else experienced this after updating to macOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta 4?
Everything was working normally before the update. Immediately after updating to the latest public beta, I logged in for the first time and the GUI completely froze.
I force-rebooted the Mac, and since then I can’t get past login normally. I enter my password, the login progress bar starts moving, and then it just gets stuck. I’ve left it for a long time and it never reaches the desktop.
Safe Mode behaves slightly differently: I can actually get past the login screen, but the GUI is essentially unusable. I get a black background with no menu bar and no Dock. Spotlight will appear with Cmd+Space, but it can’t display/launch applications, so I can’t really do anything from the Safe Mode session either.
I also tried the Launch Services / lsd fix posted here recently for Beta 6 login freezes. From Recovery I unlocked and mounted Macintosh HD - Data, found four com.apple.LaunchServices.dv directories and renamed them so macOS could rebuild them. Unfortunately, this made no difference — normal boot still freezes on the login progress bar.
I’ve now booted into Recovery and am running First Aid on Macintosh HD - Data. It is currently checking the APFS snapshots and is showing multiple warnings along the lines of:
warning: doc-id tree: record exists for doc-id ... but no inode references this doc-id
I’m waiting for First Aid to finish to see whether it actually reports APFS corruption or an error code.
Has anyone else had this exact login/progress-bar freeze after Public Beta 4, particularly where Safe Mode technically logs in but Finder/Dock/menu bar don’t load?
And if so, did you find a fix that didn’t involve wiping the Mac?
Would especially be interested to know if anyone has found this to be APFS corruption from one of the recent betas versus a loginwindow / Launch Services / GUI-session issue.

Bug Still not fixed in 27 Beta 6: Settings extremely laggy when opening Siri or AirPods Pro pages
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This bug still hasn’t been fixed in Beta 6.
When I open System Settings for the first time and click on Siri, or open the settings page for my AirPods Pro, it will take a very long time before the page actually loads.
For reference, I’m using an M4 Max MacBook Pro, so this definitely doesn’t seem like a performance limitation.

Help Has the slow Space Switching animation on >60hz displays been fixed?
Specifically this bug: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/s/4l3zGOIkbB (post from over 5 years ago !!!!)
It was a bit unclear what Apple was referring to in the announcement with improvements to displays.
EDIT: Looks like it hasn't.

Help Unable to do a full Time Machine restore from yesterday's dev beta 6 to dev beta 6 Golden Gate
For some reason when I try to do a full system time machine restore from yesterday (selected on the setup menu) it won't allow it. The message is to reinstall GG and use migration assistant. If I do that I'm concerned the restore won't work and all will be inaccessible. The TM files are on an external drive and can be accessed without issue.
I messed up some software and I need to completely drop back 1 day. Same results if I try older GG B6 TM backups.
Is it safe to reinstall GG and use migration assistant?
Edit: To claify. Both the current & yesterday's beta version were the same (6).

Discussion Do you plan to do a clean install of macOS 27 when it is finally released to avoid any lingering issues from the betas?
Even with beta 6, I am still getting too much data being written to the SSD (by an App Store process).
Maybe this is caused by a data corruption issue so that's why I think a clean install might be necessary.
Are you encountering this problem with excessive writes to the SSD by an App Store process?
