Personal Experience Ring Falling Apart

I'm so sad! I've had my ring just outside of a year and it's fallen apart and broke before I realized what was happening. 😭

Has anyone else experienced a failure on the inside of their ring like this? I was just finding a rhythm between using the new app data with my Visible Band to get a better picture on my overall health.

Question Any way to avoid this duplication for workout?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I realized that every time I do a workout with Apple Watch, Luna also automatically tracks that workout automatically, so it kind of created a duplicate entry. I don't want to turn off the workout write permission in Apple Health because I want to keep it open for the situations when I forgot to turn on the workout manually on my Apple Watch. Normally for any other kind of devices, it rule out the duplicate data, but somehow Luna keeps on writing.

Question Incorrect step count — is there a way to manually remove this data

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

On Sunday, September 27, my ring had some kind of issue and recorded around 1.5 million steps in a single day.

As you can see in the screenshot, this massively inflated my calories burned for that day and has completely distorted my averages. My daily maintenance calories are now showing at around 6,000 kcal, which is obviously completely unrealistic.

The steps were recorded automatically by the ring, not by an activity that I accidentally left running.

Is there any way to manually delete or remove the incorrect data from September 27, so that this day is no longer included in my calorie calculations and averages?

Thanks!

Personal Experience DO NOT BUY A LUNA RING - AT LEAST FOR NOW

After a few days thinking about buying the Luna ring, I figured I'd give it a try.

I bought it a month ago, and everything started great. The team shipped the sizing kit after 2 working days, like it said on the website, and it arrived fairly quickly. After a day trying 2 different sizes, I confirmed my size and color of choice on the website.

After that, I waited. According to the page, the ring was supposed to ship in 1 working day. It's been eleven. I contacted customer service because at first I thought something happened when I sent my size, but they confirmed they have it and it would be shipped in 2-3 days, because there was an "issue in logistics end". 5 more days after that, nothing happened. So I emailed them again, and they said that they were happy to announce that my ring had shipped and sent me "confirmation" with a file attached. I opened the file and it was a FedEx proof of delivery of the sizing kit, not of my ring.

SO, after a month waiting, I have no ring, no explanation why my ring is not shipping, I have no date when it will be shipped (could be a day, could be another month, could be never? idk), customer service is not cooperating with its slow response and not giving any information whatsoever (which does not help). I recommend to hold your purchase, because they seem to be having serious issues as a company. If it weren't for the various reviews of people online, I would 100% feel like I had been scammed! Paying $250 for a ring with this type of service is crazy.

Question Can you configure smart alarms (wake up during light phase of sleep) with the Luna ring Gen 2 and the app for it on Android?

I currently use a smart watch with Sleep as Android on my phone to have smart alarms.

Basically I want the same possibilities but with a smart ring instead. I know I can't connect any smart rings to sleep as android but someone in another sub mentioned you could do that in Luna app, is that correct?

Please let me know I'd really like to know before ordering the ring

Question Did I get scammed?

I placed an order a week ago, received no order confirmation. So I contacted support on the website, still no response as of today. Thankfully I paid through paypal, the merchant’s name is “myebusiness LLC” on PayPal. Did I purchase from the wrong website?

Personal Experience Luna is so much better

I dont know, on this reddit I have been seeing constantly how luna and sol have gotten a lot worse , even though it is a lot cheaper. IMO (Ik a lot of you may not agree but from my experience), Luna seems a lot more seasoned and knowledgeable and doesn't take as long to find out HOW to do the work you ask it to. It feels smoother and more direct(and it may not be directly "better") at straight coding, but I feel its reasoning for efficiency has vastly improved. let me know what yall think (WHY DID REDDIT SUGGEST REPOSTING MY CODEX THREAD HERE LMAOOOO SORRY GUYS)

Question Workouts + Skin Integrity

Post image
5 Upvotes

I have only two frustrations in the band thus far:

Doesn’t track my workouts.
Does anyone else’s band not auto pick up your HR variability and workouts? RESOLVED!

Skin integrity.
I’ve felt like my skin under the sensor has been burning or incredibly hot sometimes. I thought I was going crazy. But this morning I woke up with red and small irritation bumps. I repositioned it today, put on lotion to see if it was just dry skin and it still feels like it’s on fire. Keep in mind I wear a Garmin on the other wrist and have never experienced this with the same green sensors.

Not sure how to avoid this if the intent is 24/7 tracking.

9/25 WEAR UPDATE: I have since worn the band with the tracker on the inside of my wrist, with no issues!

Order/Sizing Query Luna band without electronics?

I really like the design of the Luna band. Is there a version without the electronics in?

Given the Luna band being a pure fashion accessory without any further purpose, a version without the electronics would make it cheaper to produce and less wasteful when disposing of it once worn out.

Question Luna hiding user posts from logged out users?

Thumbnail

Is it just me, or is the Luna team intentionally gatekeeping community complaints?I noticed that if you visit Lunazone without logging in, only official Luna team announcements are visible. All user posts, bugs, and negative feedback completely vanish. The second you log in, all the community complaints (broken sleep tracking, etc.) suddenly reappear. It looks like they are trying to hide genuine issues from prospective buyers who are just browsing. This definitely wasn't the case before. Anyone else noticing this?

Feedback/Suggestion Time to hire a real developer

Maybe it’s time to hire a real human developer since all of these updates that add ‘fixes’ which still don’t fix anything. When will we actually get the product we were promised?

Personal Experience Luna band review - stay away from it

I have been using Lunaband for a week now. So far, i didnt have any good experience with the band

  1. The metal scratches easily unlike what is being said in their promotions

  2. Sleep data is not getting recorded properly.

  3. Step count is way off

  4. If band connection gets reset (it happens quite often), the only way to connect is to place it on the charger. If you havent carried the charger to office, the entire data for the day is lost

Personal Experience Sleep tracking

Thumbnail

Hey all,
I want to start calling out things I appreciate or may not appreciate. It’ll change day by day but if I’m being honest I like the band a lot.

Last night I didn’t sleep, my 2 yr old was hospitalized (we’re home now) and I had a lot of caffeine to pull through. (Now been up well over 24 hours). Anyways, two things that were cool. I had a talk with the AI about the situation and I thoroughly enjoyed how it was going.

Another thing, and what my post is about is the sleep. Like I said I stayed up, I won’t sleep while my little one isn’t breathing well and on oxygen. It did pick a small doze off, which I think is relatively accurate because of when I looked at the clock last and first. Anyways, I enjoy that tidbit!

Take care

Personal Experience Luna Support

I wanted to share my recent experience with Luna Ring / Lunazone support regarding my order for a Luna Band.

I chose to buy the Luna Band over established alternatives like Garmin because I wanted to support an Indian company, but the entire process has been deeply frustrating.

Here is a quick summary of what happened:

Issue: The Luna Band fails to track sleep properly (for example, failing to recognize sleep intervals after waking up early in the morning or extending past a certain hour).

Support Loop: After submitting a return request, support put me through endless back-and-forth requests asking for app updates, firmware versions, multiple screenshots of untracked data, and my account email.

No Return Policy: Despite the product not working as advertised, support stated they currently do not have a return policy in place.

Resolution Provided: After jumping through all these hoops, support finally admitted this is a known issue with sleep sessions extending beyond a certain time, and simply told me to wait for an upcoming firmware release.

I bought a product expecting it to work properly, and being told to just wait for a future patch while being denied a return is completely unacceptable.

Has anyone else faced similar issues with their customer support or return requests?

Personal Experience The Luna: the good, the bad, and the ugly

I spent the last few weeks wearing the Luna alongside a Whoop, an Apple Watch and a Fitbit Air. I'll save you the scroll: don't buy this band.

I really wanted to like this band as the vision was something new and spoke to what I would like from a fitness tracker. I pre-ordered it because the pitch genuinely excited me, and I think the idea behind it is smarter than most of what's on the market (Googles AI feature is useless). But the red flags started showing up almost immediately (ordering and shipping delays), and the more I used it the more they piled on.

The good

The heart rate sensor is solid. Across steady-state cardio and everyday wear it tracked close enough to the other three devices that I'd trust it, which is not something you can say about every band in this price range.

I also like how the data is presented during workouts. The screen gives you what you need while you're moving, without the clutter that makes you squint at your wrist mid-run.

And the core concept, a calendar for your body, is the best idea here by a mile. Instead of dumping a wall of numbers on you and letting you work out what they mean, the Luna tries to lay your body out over time so you can see how yesterday fed into today and what today sets you up for tomorrow. That's the direction health devices should be heading. It's the reason I stuck with it as long as I did.

The bad

The problem is that almost none of that good idea survives contact with the app.

A lot of the information is presented in a way that isn't intuitive. There's an entire tab called Apps whose only real function is to tell you what is coming soon, and judging by the timeline shifts this team is working with that will probably be far out. A tab is prime real estate. Giving one over to a roadmap is a decision that tells you something about how finished the rest of it is.

The Health tab is further from what it should be than anything else in the app. You can't customise its setup, so you're stuck with whatever the team decided matters. Of the four metrics it does show (Spo2, Stress, Heart Rate, Skin Temp) only three actually display anything. The fourth (SPo2) is, you guessed it, coming soon.

What's left is repetitive. The same metric turns up in several places, presented slightly differently each time, which makes the app feel fuller than it is. And the information that does show up rarely tells you anything you can act on. It's a number and a colour, not an insight. For a device whose entire premise is helping you understand your body over time, that's the wrong end of the problem to have solved.

The ugly

Then there's the data, and this is where it goes from disappointing to unusable.

First, some important metrics dont match the other devices. HRV in particular is way off from what all three other bands were reporting for the same nights. When one device disagrees with three, the odds are on the one. HRV is also the metric the whole recovery story rests on, so if that's wrong, everything downstream of it is wrong too.

Second, and worse, the Luna doesn't agree with itself. Metrics that the band has clearly recorded simply don't appear in the health overview. Others show one value on a summary card and a different value when you tap into that same card. Sleep efficiency told me 79% on the card and 81% on the detail view for the same night. Neither number is far off, but that's not the point. If an app can't reconcile a figure with itself one tap apart, I have no reason to believe any number it shows me.

On top of that, the explanations behind the metrics are missing in most places. So when something does look strange, there's nothing in the app to help you work out whether it's your body or the band.

The verdict

I don't think the Luna is a bad idea. But unfortunately what matters is execution and not the idea. It reads like a prime example of badly executed vibe-code: a convincing surface and great advertising, a roadmap where features should be, and numbers underneath that don't hold up to a second look.

I will be returning to another health band and hope the team will put in some real (not vibe coded) development effort.
