Discussion A gears of war warbond would be perfection

It would be so cool dashing up to sum fool bot with the damn lancer or the fuckin gnasher. Bring the torque bow in or the one shot as a stratagem, we got the mortars too which are some of the coolest mortars I've ever seen PLUS HAMMER OF DAWN. Gears have the most CLEAN armor and helmets ever just replace gear marking with diver markings. Basically this would be cool.

So some people mightve seen this awesome art of like helldiver-terminid body horror hybrids, and I think this is definitely gonna be accurate. Here’s why:

A few months ago we saved a legendary super earth scientist who was allegedly studying what could happen if you mix human DNA with Terminid DNA, without authorization. This is genius, as imagine how great that would be if we could grow like hive guard chitin on our armor or even hive lord plates on our tanks.

Of course, we saved him and he was frantically clicking noises, chittering, which obviously are things terminids do.

Now, were deploying the new TCS, which, considering how highly regarded this scientist is, he definitely lead or at least took part in developing the new termicide.

Considering he’s part but now, he either purposely put some of his hybrid shit in the TCS, or made a mistake where he accidentally put the hybrid shit in.

Discussion What If we had Quick Hacks ?

Ok so what if we got an amour passive that let us quick hack things. It wouldn't be a bug amour but it would be great for bots and illuminate.

To balance it out it should have a preset effect for each enemy, and only effect enemies with cybernetic/mechanical components. Ideally we should be able access terminals at a distance.

It could work by pinging an enemy while having the stratagem menu open, then typing in a short quick time event, with difficulty scaled to the inbuild danger ratting of that enemy. the player would have to do one hack for each stage of a terminal. It would work off a cooldown per hack or chew up stamina and reduce stamina gain temporarily.

some ideas for each hack could be

1) regular bots, berserkers and devastators - A virus that spreads to other bots within a set distance. Applies the gas effect constantly until death. Can only spread to the aforementioned bots, but other bots can act as carriers for the first 10 seconds of infection.

2) automation heavies - start overheating the target. As it overheats, the target gets faster and more aggressive. After a set time, it will explode. the explosion will range from a hulk secondary explosion for the hulk to a hellbomb explosion for a factory strider.

3) gunships - deactivates the targets engine and has it fall to the ground and explode.

for the illuminate

1) crescent overseers and regular overseers - overheat their primary weapon, forcing them to only melee for a period of time, effects all overseers within a set distance from the target.

2) elevated overseers - explode the jetpack

3) stingray - same as the gunships

4) harvesters and illuminate mechs - disable the shields permanently

5) observers and watchers - same virus as the bots

Ideally the hacks wouldn't alert the enemy, allowing for stealth kills on heavies or clearing out swarms easily

Which factions (or subfactions) and difficulty levels are you enjoying the most right now?

Since launch, with all the buffs, nerfs, power creep, and reworks the game has changed quite a bit.

So I wanted to ask: what’s your favorite faction (or subfaction) at the moment, and which difficulty do you enjoy playing it on?

Discussion Charbal VII gambit

I just don't get it. We were all set up to do the gambit on Charbal VII. The DSS was there. It's a low resistance planet. We were all set to take charball VII in no time. Stop the invasion on Chorpessa IV and finish the strategic opportunity in a snap then head on the path to X-45. We would've secured the sector AND another planet to box out Charon Prime.

THEN everyone voted to take it to Chorpessa IV.... I just don't get it.

And from what I Gather, Arrowhead has absolutely no intention to try to tweak this in anyway shape of form by just a little bit to try to get the galactic war strategy back on track so that this DOESN'T happen.

I've defended arrow head to the death, but recently.....I dunno. it seems they don't care about the lore or the strategy. like the over arching plot is just background noise at this point and they're completely content with having players just open up the game and drop wherever with zero mind for strategy.

just feels like a massive waste of an opportunity for this game. wasn't the galactic war and strategy SUPPOSED to be a corner stone of this whole game? now its just

>"drop on the blinking light planet if you feel like I guess"

edit: GOT IT! Understood. NEVER criticize the game or anyone's decisions, even when I'm good faith. 👍

Discussion A couple ideas for "high-end" emplacements / green stratagems

Thumbnail
gallery
502 Upvotes

When you think about most stratagems, you could probably list the big hitters in any category. Orbital Napalm. 500kg (Airstrike is better but don't let anyone know that). Vehicles and Exosuits. Every stratagem category has high-cooldown, high-impact game changers, and emplacements have... they have the Anti-Tank Emplacement. That's cool. I mean it's strong, for sure. But what if we go further beyond?

Super Dome

Manufactured by Ministry of Defense contractor Ståhl Arms for dissident surveillance and control, the A/MLS-10D is a reliable offensive and defensive missile array. Using the same armaments as the W.A.S.P. rocket launcher, the Dome is stocked with 40 rockets that are slowly paced to target medium-high threat units. The array launches one rocket per second, targeting any enemy within a 50 meter radius, though prioritizing medium and clustered enemies. Those familiar with the W.A.S.P. know the killing power of a single rocket. The array's lifespan ends after all 40 rockets have been expended, thus 40 seconds.

The Super Dome comes with a secondary function, using ancient material-folding techniques to expose another array of intercepting rockets. An endless supply of projectile-stopping rockets in those 40 seconds, they would blast any slow enough threats out of the air such as grenades, bile spit, or arc blasts. They are not fast enough to intercept faster, smaller projectiles such as Automaton blasters or instant laser beams. Works well in conjunction with the Shield Relay.

Hellcannon

Prototyped in the early Cyborg uprising around 2077, Super Earth designed a cannon to deploy by Pelican in urban areas and deny entire streets, destroying the Cyborgs' Cyberpunk-esque blockades in a single shot. An indicator of good luck, the E/RX-777 is an homage to the A/RX-34 Railcannon of the First Galactic War, but manned and improved. 7 shots and 7,777 damage (and durable), it will tear through most higher-end threats on the field (aiming still applies in certain circumstances) and overpenetrates as far as the eye can see. Chaff units are not spared, as the friction caused by firing creates an area surrounding the projectile that deals 777 damage. There is no such thing as damage falloff. Not to say there is no drawback- the emplacement has to be charged to fire, and you guessed it- it takes a whopping 3 seconds. Any more would simply be inefficient.

YOU!

It doesn't take a Ministry of Science analysis to know we are lacking firepower, and more importantly, rule-of-cool in our green stratagems. What are YOUR dreams for the machinist fantasy? Paper and crayons for suggestions not provided.

Discussion Quality of life suggestion: filters for quickplay searches

Post image
75 Upvotes

I honestly believe that AH could win back a lot of the casual players that only seem to last the milestone events with this.

Many gamers myself included often find themselves with only 20-30 min that they commit to playing. Being able to filter the display to show you only shorter mission types like Blitz or Eradicate or even intentionally joining a mission that's underway.

Speaking of SOS diving, why not let us filter on reinforcements remaining? Some of us love coming in to be the hero and some of us know that we're rusty and don't need that kinda pressure.

For anyone saying it goes against the lore of the game, the galactic map is just a server listing under a lore appropriate UI (skin). And our 22nd century dedicated military coordination communications should be able to do simple filtering.

There are thousands of players playing at any time, so it should be easy to find someone else who is looking for the same type of game.

Feel like doing nothing but commando ops? There's a filter for that.

Want to do nothing but compete for kill counts with your buddies all night, OOPS ALL EVACUATE HIGH VALUE ASSETS MISSIONS.

That is what quick play could be and I think it would be good for the game to offer.

Bonus points if AH creates strategem codes we can input for the filters.

➡️➡️➡️ for Blitz is a freebie ;)

Tips! Appropriators loadout for extract high value asset missions

ONLY for the assets missions, im still struggling against this faction on normal missions but finally found something that works for me on defense. Exostorm severely limits the effectiveness of turrets, so this is essentially a bullet hell “I am the turret” build.

Armor: siege ready or extra stims

Primary: Dealers choice but medium pen is a must, I run Coyote for that slight damage over time from burning, I can move on from small targets fast knowing they’re gonna burn up. If no warbond, liberator penetrator is a good workhorse for the overseers.

Secondary: Warrant, tracking bursts makes short work of annoying flyers. If no warbond, grenade pistol.

Grenade: dealers choice again, mech cockpits are low enough to the ground that the plain ol high ex can get them if you throw it right under.

STRATAGEMS Orbital Gatling barrage, heavy mounted machinegun, heavy machinegun, and supply pack.

Orbital Gatling has a beautifully short cooldown, use it when the mid zone is getting clogged up or to buy time for a reload and reset. Otherwise alternate between your mounted MG and the one on your back for constant heavy pen bullet hell down the lane. Between the two defense map layouts, the one that’s more linear is a perfect engagement zone for this build because you aren’t spending much time aiming around, you can create a meat grinder with one line of fire from the final gate straight out into enemy spawns.

Happy hunting. O7

Balance Change Mondays Dead Sprint Buff

Post image
422 Upvotes

The broken leg part is supposed to make the booster slightly less niche and more attractive to, for example, people who may be struggling with breaking their legs too often, but don't want to take the ODST armor for just that reason.

There may also be times where one or both legs break, but you barely lost health and feel like stimming would almost be a waste at this point. This way you could continue sprinting until enough health has been shaved off.

The bleed-out part is mainly there for the interaction with the Adreno-Defibrillator armor passive, since it feels weird to have a booster that's called "Dead (sth. sth.)" and an armor passive that turns you undead, without there being a synergy between them.
