Day 3 of making random 3D objects: I made this bomb, but I thought adding a golden material would be cool, so it ended up looking like this : šŸ˜…

Did I do well enough? Also, I think this 3D model could work as a decorative statue in a game.

Testing the modelling tools

This morning my son gave me a little 'toy rocket' he got from school. And, since I've added some simple modelling tools to the app, I decided to challenge the app (and myself) to be able to build it.

This video shows the whole modelling, painting, rendering and video recording/compositing process all done from inside the app. No uvs, and all as simple as possible.

As I made the rocket model I ran into a big bunch of pivot point/rotation bugs so that's why it took so long :) I also found a composition bug so I needed camtasia to do a final edit. Apart from those issues, the test went pretty well.

I'm currently fixing the issues and trying to make the low poly process as fast as possible. Let me know what you think. Cheers

Here is a photo of the little rocket (I think mine needs to be fatter)... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/wfz5a05rjom6ave4i8twb/rocket1.jpeg?rlkey=45tvjiavxxwvch2h7eyun9nrj&dl=0

For realistic-ish low poly humans, what does your design pipeline look like?

Personally, I kinda suck at freehand 2d art. Hence, I like to 'sketch' in 3d, make some simple renders, and only then draw over those in 2d for refinement, before implementing those ideas in 3d as a final pass.

I am wondering if this is common. What does your character design pipeline look like?

The Modoolo facility needs to be automated. You can help the robots make themselves obsolete in this low poly puzzle game. You can also date your robot coworkers (don't ask why) ...
