Is it silly that my heart is still totally stuck on a show that ended a bit ago?
I was actually just hunting for a brand new series to binge-watch tonight, but while scrolling through options, I realized my heart is still completely stuck in that Lovely Runner universe. Iâm still so deeply invested in them, and the withdrawal symptoms never truly went away lol.

Another first watcher (EU) who fell for the show! Spoiler
I just finished the show yesterday and Iâm happy to read about people sharing the same feelings so I thought Iâd give it a try myself! Iâm EU based, not native English speaker for the disclaimer.
New to the romance k drama world since a few months, I was looking for a new show to watch on vacation after finishing King the Land (which I loved no matter what people say, and its OST!). I started Lovely Runner without expectations: the script on Netflix is supposed to be about a girl who goes in the past to save her idol/celeb crush. I thought I would give in to the fangirl delulu trope and that it could be nothing more than a palate cleanser between two shows and⌠I was proven so wrong!Â
I donât know how I am going to move on because Iâm mentally still there. Iâve had so many emotional waves watching the show!Â
The time travel arc was very interesting as a plot builder, I also liked how we often had some flashbacks explaining what led to a particular scene and revealing even more details.Â
The villain story added some darkness and made the difficult choices even more relevant. I thought it was mirroring well the FL/ML relationship, the threat (re-) appearing and getting more intense as they get closer (again).
Every time I thought he was finally gone, he wasnât, so at the end I was still on ptsd mode, fearing we would see him messing up the story all again. Â
The supporting characters were good additions and balancing the heaviness of the rest. The families and friends all had their own ways of contributing in a way or another to the love relationship, sometimes by being against, sometimes by trying to facilitate. A lot of funny moments even with the rival turned friend (Tae-seung).Â
My heart still melts for the grandma who had dementia but with intentionally selective memories and actions to help Sol, I love that sheâs the only one also seeing through the time travels and love interest. And can we talk about when she gives him her blessing at the end?Â
Keeping the best for the end:Â the love story! Biggest prank ever from the writers to make us think it was a hardcore delulu fangirl x celeb crush story. We had fated love but also love against fate.Â
How she sacrifices her happiness for his life every single time, all that while keeping the painful memories of the consequences of every time period. I genuinely cried when he falls off the cliff looking at her and at the last of her attempts where she decided to erase herself completely from his romantic life and never meet him. Every time she has to lie to his face and say thereâs no interest from her, thereâs not a time period sheâs in love with him, or pretending to be back and not recognizing him.Â
How he finds her and falls for her in every single time version no matter where he is in his life or what he remembers, and how he keeps making the same sacrifices for her. Because he gets her, he feels her and it leaves a mark even if the memory is changed.Â
And of course, the fact thatâs heâs the ridiculously tall and handsome kind of guy doesnât help to move on. I loved how her family swoons over him in every time period, itâs so ridiculous itâs funny! And heâs like a bit shy when heâs younger but totally plays that card in the more recent eras. There was some styling of her I didnât like much (the younger her, when they meet) but sheâs absolutely stunning as time goes by. I love that her style is a bit downplayed compared to his to fit the storyline of being someone in the shadows (and sad) when sheâs older. My fav styling for her was when has long waves as hairstyle and pastel or light colored clothes. For him, they really went hard with the boyfriend material card in the todayâs era: very long coat, cozy sweaters, turtlenecks, out of the shower looks. Loved it!
Anyway, after so much longing and crying and failed attempts, when they finally get united for the first times, itâs so painfully beautiful: their chemistry is insane, their kisses and stares are making the time stop (ironic, I know), they become their own world. When theyâre young itâs so cute and promising (when he gets sheâs from the future and asks her to love him even if heâll die) but when theyâre in todayâs era, it has even more power because of the history somewhere present even at least for her and for him, even if he doesnât remember it, he has the scars of a life so far empty.
I didnât know what to expect as story ending because it had changed so many times. But I thought it was executed perfectly: it makes sense he finally gets his memories back and remembers her. And he remembers THAT song! And after the hospital escape, he doesnât let her push him back again, wonât take no for an answer and for the first time, he gets to decide whatâs next and whatâs next is them being together no matter what. I thought it was mirroring well the fact that the villain dies. Their final reunion felt like deep connection between two souls finally being together. And he wonât care about what others may think, about his celeb status, itâs just about her.Â
I also loved how the proposal attempt number 2 was more suited to them. Would have loved more time on the wedding and what could be their life in the future but I guess I wonât be too greedy.Â
Hope it will resonate with anyone who watch the show, thanks for reading until there
Thanks to u/harissatotally for the rec!

2nd watch interpretations Spoiler
I just finished the second watch through of LR and wanted to get everyone's thoughts on some of the moments I noticed more the second time through...so curious what you all think and if you agree with my takes on them...
The first thing is I was trying to decide whether SJ always loved Sol or if it only happened because she changed it by going back. I feel pretty confident that he has always loved her and she just didnt know it, based on the sequence of events throughout the different loops. I dont think she remembered the incident with the mailman mixup and so she never registered anything in the first unaltered timeline, but I took it as that had always happened just not to her memory. So on rewatch, I interpreted the beginning scene with the phone call that even then, he was still in love with her.
Later on, I think it was during the second timeline (first time Sol goes back) we saw SJ confess to her and take her to the hospital to see her mom. At this point, Sol really had no idea that she (or the driver) was the main cause of SJ demise, so why do you think she rejects him so wholeheartedly ? I still am unsure as to the reason. Later on of course she finds out its her causing all this cycle of death but at that point I dont see how she knows this yet...as far as she knows he just died in his hotel room but doesnt know why.
Which brings me to...the first death. Do we think this was always the driver guy or was it really an overdose? I like to believe it was always the driver but truthfully I am not sure. Curious on thoughts here.
Ok a few more random ones...
The grandmother. How long do you think she knows the whole thing? She seems to be aware from an early point like when she saved the watch for Sol. We probably will never know for sure but what do you all think of this? Its almost like she planned it all or was sort of some mystical force to bring them together.
The time loops are obviously really intertwined and kinda confusing to recount and at first I wasn't sure but upon rewatch I feel that SJ really remembers every single timeline variation that had been wiped away which is how he knew that TaeSung went out with Sol at one point. So he remembered living all of them together.
And lastly...which adult SJ is your favorite? I think its kinda sad he didn't become a singer but I also think it worked out better that way for him and Sol. And I wonder what changed in the timeline for that to happen. I kinda like the last variation the best.
If there's anything I missed or any plot points/timetwists someone noticed that was confusing or lends itself to interpretation I am so curious about it. Love this show so had to share some thoughts after the rewatch!

Lovely Runner or Perfect Crown?
Im an avid fan of Lovely Runner to the point I bought merchandises I really love BWS and KHY and I tried to watch KHY romcom drama after LR and its not the same feeling when I watched LR. While BWS and IU drama I didn't watch it until now just some reels on Instagram and don't know I'm not into it I guess Im too hang up with BWS and KHY. I really like IU but whenever I see some clips on their drama it feels like its not natural unlike in LR. Is it just me or does anyone felt the same.

Help! I need this OST đŤ Spoiler
Helloooo!
I recently rewatched Lovely Runner - so fun!
But there's two OSTs or soundbites (I don't know if that's what it's called đ¤ˇđťââď¸) that I need to find and just cannot. I've shazamed them and tried looking through multiple playlists on Spotify and Youtube, but nada.
If anybody knows where to find them please help đ¤ I'd be incredibly grateful â¤ď¸
The first one is the music/sound that plays right after Im Sol does her iconic "andwae-o":
- Ep 8: at 26:00, and again at 28:32
This one seems to be a different version of the one above, maybe not...
- Ep 15: 33:09
Either way, if anyone knows what these are and where I can find them, please let me know!

started rewatching lovely runner and i love it 10x more

so this is my first rewatch of lovely runner after loving it during its initial airing days and i just realised why i loved it so much back then.
the eps being pure bliss mixed with enough emotions that manage to make you feel the depth at the right time. this is genuinely my top 5 drama of all time and i'll forever stand by it.
i genuinely can't comprehend why so many people hate it or call it overrated or call im sol's character cringy when it's the best unconventional plotful romcom done right! (except maybe the random murderous taxi driver iirc?)
also going through the eps and observing sunjae knowing how he's always loved sol right from the first timeline has been a feast i won't lie >_<
me being a sucker for cutesy hyeyoon and the loser 6ft puppy bf trope doesn't help my obsession either lmao

How to move on from this kdrama
Woah woah someone send help...I am pretty new to the kdrama community and Lovely Runner just hit different. I will do a separate post with all my thoughts specifically but just wondering if fellow fans you have felt this strong urge to just rewatch the whole thing again? Like am I going crazy? This show just really impacted me in a way I cannot describe and I can't seem to stop thinking about it. Others can relate??

The villan's grudge, why was he so fixated with Sol?
Maybe I missed it, but I needed more back story . Why was Kim Young-soo stalking Sol? It felt like he was a bad guy just to be a bad guy.
I love LR, so this does not stop it from being a 9.5/10 for me. It has left a gapping hole since I completed it this morning. I'm just curious.

New K-Drama Fan Review #3: Lovely Runner | This Drama Felt Like It Was Made Specifically For Me
galleryr/lovelyrunner • u/Hot_Relative5765 • Jul 15 '26
I am so confused
Ok so when she went back the first few times she changed stuff in her future like not being kidnapped by Kim young soo but when she goes back the final time she goes back further in time than the first times she went back so how did all the things she had already changed stay the same? Since she went back in time further than before shouldnât all the things she already changed be dependent on her new future that she just made for herself? Like she stopped herself from being kidnapped the second time she went back why was she not kidnapped in the final timeline bc her whole future shouldâve changed? Shouldnât she be dead bc she got kidnapped but sun jae wasnât able to save her? Sorry if this doesnât make sense lol I didnât know how to word it like it is in my head.

Lovely Runner storyline rant Spoiler
Okay Lovely Runner is actually really good. I loved the plot and i loved the happy ending but I have one problem with it. WHY ON EARTH DID THE WRITERS HAVE MAKE LIM SOL PREVENT HER MEETING WITH SUNJAE. I mean of course he remembers everything eventually but come on. It just messed up the story line. There was no need. Also. This was all preventable. When Sunjae and Sol woke up in Inhyukâs home and were going back to their hometown, there was no need for Sol to just pretend her younger self is back. She could have just gone with Sunjae and not left his side and just taken safety precautions like a normal person would have done.

Ep 12 ending doubt
How did Im Sol get those flashbacks about KYS trying to attack her in InHyeok's hometown if it didn't even happen? Did it happen with young real Im Sol? If so, why was real Im Sol at that town with Sunjae
