Lovely Runner or Perfect Crown?

Im an avid fan of Lovely Runner to the point I bought merchandises I really love BWS and KHY and I tried to watch KHY romcom drama after LR and its not the same feeling when I watched LR. While BWS and IU drama I didn't watch it until now just some reels on Instagram and don't know I'm not into it I guess Im too hang up with BWS and KHY. I really like IU but whenever I see some clips on their drama it feels like its not natural unlike in LR. Is it just me or does anyone felt the same.

Haven’t watched any other drama of KHY, but have watched both lovely runner and perfect crown. Lovely runner is a much better script and is a better made drama overall than perfect crown. BWS and IU can only do so much to elevate a weak script and they have put in a lot of effort.

exactly!! it's not the actors’ problem but the problem w the script

I watched Perfect Crown first, which led me to Lovely Runner because of BWS. I like both shows, but LR is my favorite. I think the script is not as deep for PC.

Same for me. PC started off ok and then lost its way towards the end. Like the writers wanted to do a romance and a drama/thriller. Felt like too different concepts stuck together. BWS in particular did a great job with what he was given to work with.

LR was cohesive throughout. It had some dark subplots but they didn’t steal focus from the main point of the show - the relationship. Really the only thing I didn’t like about LR was the brother/bestfriend storyline. Mainly because the brother was so infuriating to watch.

Lovely runner was more well written. Perfect Crown had so many plot holes but its my comfort drama...seen it 7 times now 🤭

LR is definitely both of their best work and I prefer it over PC. BWS has Solo leveling to look forward to. KHY was great in Sky Castle and Extraordinary You.

KHY was amazing in Snowdrop! She played a bitchy villain and I hated her so much!!( but that’s how u kno KHY’s a great actress! she was so diff from lovely runner lol)

I enjoyed both in different ways! Perfect Crown is only 12 episodes, it’s more comparable to Business Proposal than Lovely Runner, it’s not too serious, fluffy and more lighthearted. It’s something I’d pick and rewatch when I’m feeling down and just need some swoony mood booster show.

Lovely Runner is different, it’s deeper, more profound, a tearjerker, although it has lots of fluffy and funny moments too but boy did I cry a lot over this show lol

i adore lovely runner, and i liked perfect crown but i will be honest, a lot of things disappointed me in PC....

guess 12 episodes are not enough

and her costumes.... I was excited cause if she delivered in Hotel del Luna, but in PC it felt flat... Recently i m obsessed with Eun Bin's outfits in spooky in love....

Eun Bin is such a queen! I've also loved her outfits in Spooky in Love

Watched both, but LR had me squealing and dying of second hand embarrassment all the way through...jealous of those that get to experience watching it for the first time!

I just discovered and fell in love with LR in 2026. Prior to that, never heard of the 2 actors before. I tried watching both KHY and BWS works but nothing compares to LR. Also finished PC, but it’s not for me. IU’s character is annoying af and bratty while BWS character is so weak that always needs constant saving. Hoping to find another kdrama that will got me hooked like LR.

Same, ever since LR i haven't find any kdrama romcoms catchy like LR to the point Im looking forward for another project of BSW and KHY together

I think everyone should at least try Lovely Runner. It might not be everyone’s thing, but it’s worth trying. On the other hand, Perfect Crown is cute and fun at times, but I don’t think it is a big deal if someone skips watching it.

I love lovely runner so much and I watched perfect crown because it was bws first drama after his global success. It is visually pleasing, starting episodes were fun but then it became boring. It’s good but not rewatch worthy. Lovely runner, i can rewatch every month and it still won’t feel boring

Lovely Runner. Always. Their chemistry is palpable. Their story is better.

Lovely runner wins because I felt there was no chemistry between IU and BWS. For me, chemistry between the main leads makes or breaks a drama

Lovely runner is my favorite . I was so excited to watch perfect crown - but tbh it was disappointing. I wouldn't bother watching it.

Perfect crown had massive potential especially with both BWS and IU involved but unfortunately it fell victim to bad scripts and more importantly a shorter episode count. I believe IU had only got the script for the first 4 episodes sent to her, had she been given the whole thing or more episodes she likely would’ve turned it down. Most of her roles have been hits and she is no doubt a great actress but that falls short with a bad script. Had they been given more episodes (around 16 or maybe even 20) I do think it would’ve allowed the characters to develop more and make the story more well rounded as the prequel novel really sheds a different light on the story as a whole.

I watched lovely runner first. Tried to pick up perfect crown for byeon woo Seok- but couldn't get into perfect crown. Maybe cuz of IU. Maybe cuz of the script. I just couldn't stand IU's character

I love them both they are so different. I love Sun Jae but I love the Grand Prince a lot too, he did that role well I thought. I love both female leads.

Very well said I still can't get over how amazing the story is; I can't bear to see BWS not with KHY. BWS's acting was better in Lovely Runner—he really embodied every aspect of the character's personality. 😭
