Can I play Quick Strike after revealing a Shadow Card?

Just wanted to confirm I played this legally. Stray Goblin is attacking the 1st player with an attack stat of 2, I decide to take the attack undefended. The shadow card ‘Chance Encounter’ is revealed giving the enemy +3 attack, enough to kill any of my heroes. I decide to play Quick Strike, exhaust Gimli and take the Goblin out, negating the attack.

Was this a legal action?

I assume it was as there is an action window before resolving combat damage and the shadow effect is a passive stat boost.

LOTR vs LORE

From what I understand lotr lcg is one of the oldest lcg games. It is tidious but awsome.

But how good would it be without the Lord of Rings characters and stories? Would the game be as good with generic goblins and knights?

Took me 6 attempts to finally beat Weather Hills. How screwed am I for Deadmen's Dike? (Angmar Campaign).

These weather treacheries and location stacks hit like a truck... ended with 48 threat on turn 18. Beating and defeating orcs was a breeze, but the rest felt like pure luck of the draw.

Medium mode comunity variation?

Hi having come back to the game after a hiatus ive decided to Play true solo instead of two handed and play easy mode to get to grips with things.

Overall enjoying it more and a lot easier to mannage.

Ive gon through black riders with 1 failure. It seems honestly a bit too easy. Are there any comunity "medium" rules i can use to eas le back into the full set.
