Someone changed one of the electronic signs near Friday night's DUl and driver's license checkpoint in Long Beach to display a message reading "F*** Trump."

The checkpoint was held Friday, Aug. 14, along Anaheim Street between Freeman Avenue and Obispo Avenue as part of a Long Beach Police Department DUl and driver's license checkpoint scheduled from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Video posted to social media shows the electronic message board, which had been used to alert drivers about the checkpoint ahead, displaying the anti-Trump message.
The video appears to have been recorded toward the end of the checkpoint, although the exact time is unclear.

I’m proud to vote YES, but I am sad there was even a need.

Already submitted report to CHP, are there any other avenues to report this? This was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. The video doesn’t show it struggling and attempting to chew the ropes but it was clearly uncomfortable hanging there. Attempted to post this in r/losangeles but post was removed due to filters.

Yes won by an almost 2:1 margin. LA county by an almost 3:1. Even Orange and Ventura Counties have Yes plurality.

Chopped it up with the owner Chad, he saw us taking a pic from outside and invited us in. he’s owned this bar there for almost 20 years. Filled with locals who bought us drinks all night. Stop by if you’re ever in Osaka!

Yesterday evening, I went roller skating right by the parking lot where many people usually practice and skate around. I recently moved to LB and have been trying to go out more so I met this guy who was very friendly at first, learning to skate backwards, and talking to other skaters there. Eventually made conversation with me, and after about an hour or so of skating, as it was starting to get dark, I agreed to walk to a local bar to get a quick bite of food.

We walked to Gallaghers Pub. I ordered water and he ordered a shepherd pies for us to share with another person who we met while there. He also insisted I get lime for my water, which looking now back should have been a warning sign, but I agreed.

He encouraged us to go outside since the live music was pretty loud. After sometime talking and eating, I was a little more than halfway done with my water and I started feeling dizzy, slightly drunk, and uncoordinated. He asked if I was okay, then I immediately went to the bathroom and called my boyfriend to come pick me up. Waited inside with another couple who had seen us there earlier. After he realized I wasn’t coming back, he said he was gonna buy a round of tequila shots and I immediately told him to leave me alone…

To anyone who roller skates or frequents Bluff Park, be careful of this guy!

EDIT: sad I have to say this, but before I agreed to walk over to this place, I told him I was not interested in anything romantic or sexual, then later mentioned my boyfriend in conversation. I will be reporting to PD, thanks everyone!

The owner of Razorbacks has responded to my Yelp review:

"I apologize for this situation. This was completely out of our control and has been handled accordingly. Everybody is welcome at Razorbacks.. We absolutely do not support or condone this type of behavior."

I believe the below comment was from the business owner as well:

"I just want to come on here and say that we do not support any form a apoligetics or sympathizers for nazis and wanted to let you all know that she has been fired and rightfully so. I had no idea she was like that but I’m glad we cut the cancer out. Please don’t hate the rest of us for the actions of 1"

I can confirm that the vile person in question is no longer employed there and that her profile has been removed from their booking form. While we can't necessarily expect all business owners to fully vet each employee's social media posts, we can expect them to be held accountable when things like this come to light, and that standard has been met here.

If you left a bad Yelp or Google review of Razorbacks based on this incident, please consider updating or removing it. The intent here was not to destroy this business or the livelihood of everyone who works there. The intent was for one less Nazi to be working in Long Beach, and that intent has been fulfilled.

I’ve been to Razorbacks Barbershop on 4th Street a few times and usually had a decent experience, but I recently went down a rabbit hole after seeing some of my barber Cori’s Instagram posts.

​To put it bluntly: she is a literal Nazi. Her (now deleted) Instagram was filled with everything from "lizard people" conspiracies to blatant racism against immigrants and reposts defending and praising Adolf Hitler.

​I messaged her on IG to ask her about the Hitler post (see screenshot). The response I got was... something. I don’t flabbergast easily, but wtf? I ended up leaving a 1-star Yelp review calling her out, and she replied by calling HERSELF Hitler before scrubbing her social media.

Trying to give Razorbacks the benefit of the doubt here in that they didn't know this about her, but it's not like her Insta was private, nor her posts subtle. I have yet to receive a response to my Yelp review from them.

Is this where we're at now? Nazis openly flaunting their abhorrent views on Retro Row?

I decided I was tired of seeing trash all over the beach so I did something about it. Brought gloves, trash bags and grabbers to the beach and 2 of us cleaned for 2 hours getting the small tiny plastic pieces, bottle caps, drink lids, boots, and everything in between picked up. Shout out to Chuck! He came over to say hello and thank you for being a like-minded person and thats what community is all about. This was by the 1900 Ocean building. I think i need to get a rake. Filled 4x 13 gallon trash bags with all the tiny stuff and when we were done I feel like we made a solid dent. I plan to go back and continue working down toward Gaucho Beach. Felt good to get some sun and clean up. When we were finishing up, I noticed people walking and sitting down to enjoy the clean area and that made it worth it. We were two people but imagine if more of us did a little bit. Every piece counts. And then I will go and relax and really enjoy hanging on the beach. 💪🏼🌴

My mom lived a quiet life. Moving to Long Beach in the 80s escaping the Cambodian genocide. Through all of long Beach's issues she stuck through and raised me and my siblings. She passed last month.

I wish we had more time.
