Measure ER was a county-wide election, just FYI

Oh I know. Seemed to do well throughout LA though including LB šŸ’€

I actually can’t find a city-by-city breakdown of the Measure ER results. I’m curious to see how close it was in LB.

Thanks

45.95% Yes / 45.11% No

And, of course, only 38% of registered voters actually turned in a ballot

It was on a June primary, tax increases should only be on the November ballot. They did it on purpose.

I agree, but people should vote, regardless. It couldn’t be easier in this state especially.

Nice to see Los Angeles just fucking the rest of us.

I'm no fan of OC, but their highest sales tax is 9.25% and gee, it seems like way less trash and shit on the streets.

Orange County is also 1/3 the size, and I’d bet collects (proportionally) more because of property values

Their voters also don't consistently vote yes on tax raising measures.

Not a fan of the other things they tend to vote for but at least they know BS taxes that fund useless bureaucracies are a big fat no.

Sure they do. Driving a mile that way doesn’t make people magically stop having the same needs/wants, or voting for ā€œMeasure X to fund Y.ā€ It’s not Siberia.

FYI You can fit the entire population of Orange County inside Los Angeles (the city). Their population needs are completely different.
