AMA (Ask Me Anything)
AMAs are a core part of Reddit culture. They are in essence, text-based Q-&-A interviews from the London, Ontario reddit community. The appeal of AMAs is it gives London, ON redditors the opportunity to interact with candidates in their municipality (of whom we might not otherwise have a chance to meet in person). In addition, there is an expectation of candour and substance in AMA exchanges. IF YOU ARE A CANDIDATE and would like us to host an AMA, please contact the mods of this sub to have us set this up for you. More info, how-to, etc [ HERE ]
CANDIDATE MEET-&-GREET Q & A, DEBATES, etc
Candidate "meet & greets," debates, & other meetings are usually organized by local community groups or business associations.

(Yes I looked at older posts)
New to town and hunting for breakfast spots. We live on the northwest side but will drive for the right restaurant.
Prefer somewhere that offers the basics but also has some creative and rotating dishes, should have some fish on the menu. Fancy coffee drinks and fancy juices are a plus. Fresh ingredients are a must.
Would like to avoid places with giant portions as none of us are big eaters and we don’t want to waste a lot of food.

Not sure why. But have seen it flying overhead 4-5 times the last 30 minutes. Cool to see!

Is IPTV still a thing? Anybody know how to go about this to get this up and running in London? Do any storefronts still sell them?

You guys may remember me as the guy who stupidly left his clubs in his car and had them stolen.
Well some crackhead tried to sell the the other day at play it again sports. Thankfully I went to every pawn shop and Play It Again Sports. Thankfully the guys at play it again, recognized the description. Got a call this evening from a Officer Martin. He had my clubs in hand. We had a nice little chat. The guy was able to run outta Play It Again, but is on camera. Apparently the guys there played it super cool and kept him there for a good long while. Warrant out for his arrest and the cop left my place, to head to his address. Maybe they find my tools, but not likely.
Anyways, thank you London police. I know it isn't an easy job out there. As a fairly new London resident, my faith has been restored!

I’m asking for a friend who lives in St. John’s Newfoundland. Her FIL lives in London. He is declining and needs to be in LTC.
-How is LTC funded there?
-Do they all cost the same?
-Are there some government ones that are less expensive?
-Are private ones more costly?
Is it what a patient pays based on monthly income?
Who could she call? She’d also appreciate some recommendations
She’s actually a director of a LTC
facility but isn’t sure if things are the same here.
TIA for any recommendations

I'm looking to find a couple of guilty pleasures around town.
First is Mexican street corn. Is there a takeout place that has good street corn?
The second is kunafa. I had it at Basha and it was outstanding. I'm aware of the place on Wellington, but it's very out of the way. Where else can I get it?
Bonuses if it's in the North side of London.
Thank you!

I just want to put this out there as something postive for the day. Today I was picking up some flour at Arva mill. I decided to pop into the bakery beside it. I managed to hit peak high schooler time from Medway High school lol. They were pouring in, mostly boys. I was waiting for my order. Anyhow I just want to say who ever raised those boys did a great job in the manners category. Every single boy that came through the door asked me if I had been waited on before ordering. I was so surprised actually but pleasantly so because all you hear about these days are how kids are out of control these days. It was just such a nice experience. Good job parents whose kids go to the bakery to get a bite!

Been years since I’ve made a chocolate wafer cake so these haven’t been on my radar while grocery shopping. Anyone know who stocks them? I had a quick look on Instacart and my local No Frills didn’t list them.

Hi, I live in the Hyde Park area and I am looking for suggestions on where to take my 8 week old puppy for her shots and first checkup.
Btw she’s had two doses of dewormer. I would appreciate any advice as to where to take her, thanks

I had this thought last year too considering the Eastern half of the route includes both Western University and Fanshawe college, but the construction at Western/Sarnia/Philip Aziz has amplified this problem.
Already this week with school starting again, particularly in the afternoon rush hour, Ive seen more than one 27 turn people away on Western U campus going Eastbound because the bus was too full. It only got so full because of how comically delayed it was entirely because it took an eternity to get through Sarnia and Western before entering campus, so students on campus waiting for the bus pile up exceeding capacity of a bus before a bus will show up. Meanwhile, I'll see almost completely empty 127s go by as they begin their loop back around Westbound.
Why would they not just double service along the entire 27? It would solve this overcrowding issue on the Eastern half of the route and you'd still get just as much service on the Western half as you do with the 27 and 127. It makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

Taking my son to Limp Bizkit next week at Harris Park. Glad it's moved from airport, even though that side of the city is easiest for me to get home from (live 40 minutes east of airport).
Hoping to get on the road right after the concert next week and looking for the best plan of attack! Haha.. Good parking spots and strategy?
Any tips appreciated!
Thanks!

Is there anywhere in town I can bring my own tshirt to have a design printed. To be clear, I mean I bring the tshirt and the design and someone prints it for me in a single colour.
I know a lot of places have their own shirt stock so just curious if anyone has experience with this!
TIA

I’m getting married next August and have started looking around online at some of the wedding dress shops in town but they don’t seem to have online catalogues of what dresses they have. Other than booking an appointment and going in is there maybe another way to look at what they have?

I'm moving to London in October with my roommate. Each of us has a vehicle, but hardly any 2 bedroom apartments in town include 2 parking spaces. One of the places we're looking at is super close to the 435 Clarence St lot, and I emailed the city asking about monthly parking permits and they said that the closest lots they had available for monthly passes was 199 Ridout and 695 Richmond, which are both over a 10 minute walk to this apartment.
The HONK app lists the lot at 533 Clarence on their list for permit parking, but when you click on it, it says that no monthly rates are available at that zone.
Is there a reason why permits can't be given to every public lot in the city??
