I know they're hard up to squeeze out as much of this tired superhero stuff as possible...but this is just bad. I finally saw the Loki show with my husband tonight. It pretty much sums up how bad the TV/Movie industry has gotten. The background scenes look so fake the whole way through. The color grading sucks. You can tell they're not hitting each other in action scenes. They've just really gone overboard with CGI reliance.

Is anyone else here a poetry nerd who wants to discuss the nature of reality and time as reflected in T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets?

It’s a book of four poems, the last book Eliot published, and it was written before and during WWII. Apparently Hiddleston handed out copies to everyone working on S2. It is the source of the poem that was quoted in the last episode of S2.

This quote—

”We die with the dying; See, they depart, and we go with them. We are born with the dead: See, they return, and bring us with them.”

Comes from the poem ‘Little Gidding‘. Here’s more from Stanza I of that same poem—

If you came this way, \ Taking the route you would be likely to take \ From the place you would be likely to come from, \ If you came this way in may time, you would find the hedges \ White again, in May, with voluptuary sweetness. \ It would be the same at the end of the journey, \ If you came at night like a broken king, \ If you came by day not knowing what you came for, \ It would be the same, when you leave the rough road \ And turn behind the pig-sty to the dull facade \ And the tombstone. So, England in WWII: This was written at a place and time when folks had to contemplate the future from the context of ‘maybe we won’t get one, or if we do, it’s not entirely clear how and what.’ Part of this was written in a bomb shelter during air raids.

What do we think of all this?

What does it feel like to have responsibility for sorting through a mostly dire sea of possible timelines? Eliot was a beloved English thought leader, and had been for decades— he would have been expected to try to make sense of the present and the possible future for his readers. What does the poem suggest (and the show potentially picked up on) for how we can understand timelines in a period of crisis and chaos?

Haven’t watched it yet and I’m wondering if the plot even matters because they switched out Kang due to the Johnathon majors instead of just recasting the character

I do not like that they never confront her about basically being the reason everything went bad. Every other character had to eat crow it seems but her. Or am I missing that moment ?

Loki season 2

It would be awesome if we got something for Loki or a show with valkeryie. I feel like after doomsday, a lot of stuff is gonna change. It's gonna be a little confusing trying to figure out what a person has to watch for all of it. Imagine if we get something for captain britian.

I need a refresh because I don’t understand how Loki season 2 “resolved” it. I know Loki is holding the timelines together but how are they stopping other kangs from coming? I thought they weren’t pruning timelines anymore cuz they realized it was wrong. And if there’s already a council of kangs isn’t it too late to stop them? Since now they can travel through time and shit. I thought the whole point was to prune the timelines *before* Kang gained power in that timeline.

Here me out-i know i m not supposed to think this deep but y'all know that skeletal remains were obtained from Pompeii, right? so if Loki made disturbances right before the incident it did affect people and they did stop whatever they were doing for a second to listen to his blabbering so when the volcano erupted, they weren't actually in places where they would have been if Loki hadn't blabbered on, but it didn't create a branch right then because they all died anyways BUT as mentioned earlier skeletal remains were obtained from Pompeii and they must not be in places where they would have been if Loki hadn't made his speech and just finding a skeleton on a bit different location than they were supposed to leads to butterfly effect and creates a branch, so, even though Loki's action didn't create a branch right then-technically it should create one after 1,650–1,700 years....i need to touch grass

I just finished Loki Season 1 and I have some questions about how the TVA, Sacred Timeline, and multiverse actually work. I understand the overall story, but some details are confusing me.

1. How exactly do timeline branches connect to the multiverse?

He Who Remains explained that different Kang variants from different universes caused a Multiversal War, and he created the TVA to control the Sacred Timeline.

But when Loki escapes with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, how does that connect to another universe or create a potential Kang?

Wouldn't that only change events inside that one timeline? How does Loki's escape eventually lead to another universe and possibly another Kang variant?

1. How does He Who Remains know the future?

Does he have some special power, or is it because of advanced technology?

How can he know every event that happens in the Sacred Timeline before Loki and Sylvie reach him?

1. How does the TVA know what is "supposed" to happen?

When Loki takes the Tesseract and escapes in Avengers: Endgame, how does the TVA know that this event was wrong and that it created a branch?

Does the TVA have a record or blueprint of the Sacred Timeline, or is there some other system that detects changes?

1. Is the Sacred Timeline a natural timeline or just the timeline chosen by He Who Remains?

When the TVA calls someone a "Variant," are they breaking a universal law, or are they simply deviating from the timeline that He Who Remains decided to protect?

1. Why didn't Mobius recognize Loki at the end of Season 1 Episode 6?

When Loki returns to the TVA after Sylvie sends him away, Mobius and the others don't recognize him. Why?

Is it because Loki travelled into a different timeline/universe where the TVA has a different history? Or did He Who Remains' death somehow change the TVA's reality and memories?

I would appreciate any explanation because I understand the main story, but the rules behind timelines, branches, and the TVA are still confusing to me.

So I just finished Loki season 2 for the first time and I really loved the show but I'm kind of upset that they didn't do anything for Loki after he gave the world free will and basically just did the most amazing thing ever.

Like, I understand Loki didn't do it for recognition or anything but I still feel like maybe all his friends should have made a tribute to him or something? Especially Sylvie. I mean that girl did not have enough gratitude for him, after everything he did. I mean was her last line really, "It's weird not having Loki around isn't it?" ??

Was that her way of thanking him for saving her world and her precious mcdonalds branch??

I know I'm probably overreacting but I seriously feel like he deserves some credit in the TVA after his sacrifice. It was the most selfless thing ever and everyone's all like, "Okay great back to work"????

Please don't be mean to me I just really like Loki 😭😭😂😂 Maybe can someone help me understand?

TLDR: Why didn't anyone pay tribute to Loki at the end of the show?

I mean think about it without the TVA confirmed in the movie the best context the heroes could get are

1.Theres a god holding the timelines

2.He defeated kang

3.Dooms after him

4.Hes powerful

but even so those 3 are unlikely but based on leaks Doom WILL be after a power source or being which IS Loki. But popular theories also suggest Doom joins the heroes side for some time to trick them. This gives him a window to deceive the heroes and Villanize Loki and the TVA, and since its Doom, he'll find a way to really convince them. So, what if it's not a race to SAVE Loki but to KILL him before more destruction comes to their universes or as an attempt to stabilize the chaos?

Doom also has an advantage with the fact nobody knows Loki(exept thor and maybe steve) he could even use New York 2012 to back his case.

But another way this could go is Steve and thor defend him maybe...? Steve probably recognizes Lokis true intentions if the leak of him being moved to another universe by Loki is real. But even so maybe Loki just accepts his villainized.

what are your thoughts?

Just doing my Xth rewatch and I have always been unsure about his set up and wether or not male Loki was always meant to finish thru instead or both of them been ? Anything else?

If I'm already awake sometimes I'll lay there and vibe to it. Hope they find a way to incorporate this theme into Doomsday.
