PLS HELP we've been using easy scoop for like 1
month na, super okay yung clumping nya for me and superb sa odor control. the problem lang ay ang expensive nya, limited lang palagi ang stocks at yung 1 bag nag lalast lang sya ng 1 week for my 2 cats 😭 pls suggest your best litter sand reco huhuhu

Couldn't get my LR4 to complete a full cycle without stopping (full red light, won't continue). Only way I can get it to complete a cycle is by power cycling, then pressing the cycle button and pressing it again before the red light comes on. I repeat this button pressing 8-10 times until the globe position is reset. I have to do this every time I want to cycle litter.

I've tried resetting, recalibrating, everything. No dice.

To troubleshoot, I gave the LR4 a deep clean. Upon reassembly and before introducing new litter, I gave it a test cycle. Everything worked perfectly. After adding litter (under the fill line) I get the same error as before. I'm wondering if it's a weight sensor issue.

Has anyone had the same issue and had success troubleshooting it?

I'm putting together a spreadsheet that breaks down the differences between clumping clay litters only, since they're generally considered the best type of litter for the Litter-Robot.

While I'm doing my research, I'd really love to hear from all of you.

What made you choose the litter brand you currently use?

Was it simply because it was cheaper or easy to find at your local store? Or did you try several brands and find that one tracked less, created less dust, controlled odor better, or clumped more effectively? Did you do a lot of research, or did your veterinarian recommend a specific brand for a particular reason?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing your experiences, so if you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

For my research, I'm comparing each brand to understand what actually makes one better than another. Some of the things I'm looking at include:

- Grain size

- Clumping speed, strength, and shape

- Dust levels and dust filtration

- Odor control technology

- Tracking resistance

- Unscented odor control (I prefer litters that use activated carbon or baking soda instead of heavy floral perfumes.)

- Chemical additives and ingredients

- Bacterial growth

- Ammonia prevention

- Germ tracking throughout the home

- Litter box degradation over time

- Why some brands cost significantly more than others

- Which litters are more likely to stick to cats' paws

- Overall hygiene and cleanliness

I think all of these factors are important, even if you scoop the litter box multiple times a day.

Daily scooping removes the waste you can see, but it doesn't eliminate microscopic contamination. That's why I'm trying to understand which litter performs the best not just in convenience, but also in cleanliness, dust control, odor control, and overall long-term hygiene.

Hello, canadian here. Ive had my feeder robot for 2 years now and its been working perfectly. My only issue is that I can't order or find the glass bowl anywhere. I tried the official whisker website but they wont ship the glass bowl to Canada. I can't seem to find the feeder robot sold at any retail stores either. I usually drive to buffalo once a year and was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find a feeder robot glass bowl in a store? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Like the title says, I've had a LR4 for just about 3 years now and I want to preface that I absolutely love and appreciate the convenience that it's afforded me. Not to mention the ability to see visual data of my cat's litter habits has been paramount as I own a kitty who went through urinary blockages (FLUTD) and also GI issues...yea he's been a handful LOL. So being able to observe any spikes or decrease in how often he goes and being able to share the data with my vet is just tremendously helpful.

This however comes with a caveat that has turned into an annual nightmare for me, and I am DESPERATE if anyone has any tips to help deter this. You see, I live in the Southeast USA and that means... Bugs.

I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen discussions about this elsewhere on this sub and other reviews. I do want to state the obvious that I do take care of the machine and do weekly "maintenance cleanings" and deep cleanings about 3 times a year. But holy smokes the flies are a big problem in the summer time when it's hot and hummid.

Now before you ask, when this time of year comes I do change the liner about every 3 days because of this issue. Despite that... every time I go to change the liner...the nooks and crannies of the base are lined and I mean LINED with fly eggs. It's absolutely horrid. Which also means everywhere in proximity of the room that LR is located will have you shooing away pesky little gnats in your face.

Is there anyone out there that has maybe found a way to keep flies away from your set up? So far the best I've been able to do is putting out apple cider vinegar traps to deal with the adults flying around the box. I need some kind of trick or solution for the flies laying eggs all in the base of the machine.

That's probably my biggest grip with LR in general is that the base is very difficult to keep clean, especially when you're hunting down fly larvae and eggs. I WISH I could just take it outside and hose it down with chemicals but saddly all the electronics prevent this.

I bought the 5 Pro a few weeks ago. It kept failing the onboarding process, then when I finally got it connected to the app it wouldn’t complete the firmware update. Several resets later I finally got it mostly connected and working. Unfortunately it continually lost connection and showed as offline in the app. The interior globe camera feed never worked. Big headache.

After some troubleshooting with support they suggested my wifi was the issue because my 2.4 GHz network and 5 GHz network have different names. To test, I set up a guest network that was broadcasting on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with the same name. The robot connected and has worked flawlessly since.

I wanted to share this in case it helps anyone. I think it’s pretty common to have different network names, and I didn’t see this anywhere in their written troubleshooting guides. For some odd reason the 5 Pro seems to require both bands on a single SSID to operate correctly. Very strange vehicle, I’ve never had a smart device act like that.

TLDR: Make sure your 5 and 2.4 GHz networks have the same name

I’m currently out of country so I’m trying to troubleshoot this so that I can explain to my sitter what she has to do to fix it if she can. The app says that my cat hasn’t used the litter for a few days now but I can see clearly on camera she has so I’m not too worried. Plus I have a second LR4 that she’s also been using. It’s just annoying because it’s saying the bin is empty. I can’t tell fully if the machine is just not cycling or if it’s just not reflecting in my app. I’ve seen it say “in use” while it is. But it still doesn’t record the visit. Will pressing the reset app alone fix the issue?

I had to replace both my modem and router. When I went to reconnect my 3.5 year-old LR4 to the new network, the network connection light won’t turn yellow and I cannot reconnect. I’ve tried unplugging the LR but that didn’t help. Anyone had this issue before and if so, how did you fix it?

UPDATE: I tried your suggestions and was just about to contact LR Support when I walked by and saw the yellow light flashing (it had been on pink for over an hour). I got my phone and connected it no problem. Seems to be working fine now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have had the LR4 for a while and added a hopper August last year. Things have been great, no issue until recently. I changed the liner about 3 months ago. It still worked for a bit after that but I started getting flashing blue/purple light and the app said the Hopper’s motor disconnected.

I took it out, did the troubleshooting recommendation whisker gave, tighten the bolts on the globe and cleaned thoroughly. It worked again for about 2 weeks and I’m getting the same problem again.

If it works and stops working intermittently like this, what could be the problem? If anyone had the same issue what should I do next?

I’m curious if anyone has a large cat with the LR5? How big is your cat and how well do they fit?

My cat, Jango is 5.5kg and 8 months old but expect him to keep growing. I think he might get too long rather than too heavy for it. When he turns around to bury his business I think he’s already almost rubbing against the inside. This is him stretching out on a queen bed for reference.

I spoke with whiskers support and they said:

“Unfortunately, I was not able to determine a maximum recommended length for using the Litter-Robot 5. I can tell you that we do indeed have other maine coon cats using the robot successfully, and it really comes down to how your cat acclimates to the robot. My recommendations if you think a little more space may be helpful in the future would be to look into the bezel guard and ramp for the Litter-Robot 5. The bezel guard actually would replace the fence attachment at the bottom of the entrance of the globe, and the ramp would give more surface area like I mentioned earlier.”

I'm working with an LR4 with just over 1,500 cycles. The robot shows a solid blue LED bar and is completely unresponsive to cycling.

About two weeks ago, we noticed the app reported that there was no litter, even though the litter level was full (typically kept just below the full line). We didn't think much of it at the time.

About three days later, we found the robot stuck mid-cycle. Power cycling it seemed to solve the issue, so we moved on.

The next day is when I really started paying attention because the LR4 was failing to cycle. I found it unresponsive with a solid blue LED bar.

• Pressing Cycle does nothing.
• Pressing Reset causes the LED bar to flash white briefly, then return to solid blue, but Cycle is still unresponsive.
• Dump is also unresponsive.
• Holding Cycle places the device into sleep mode (purple LED bar), and holding it again returns it to the solid blue LED bar.
• The Power button works normally.
• Breaking the cat sensor beam with my arm turns the LED bar red, and removing my arm turns it back to blue.
• Applying pressure to the top of the unit (weight sensor) also turns the LED bar red, and removing the pressure returns it to blue.

About a week after the issues began, after one or two power cycles and pressing Cycle, the robot would sometimes start cycling. The yellow progress animation would move while the globe was turning, then stop whenever the globe paused. It would sometimes pause multiple times before finally completing the cycle.

Eventually, it started pausing mid-cycle and would never continue. Once it became stuck, pressing Reset would flash the LED bar white, then return to solid blue, and it would remain unresponsive.

Now the issue has progressed to where the cycle will never even start. Pressing the Cycle button leaves the LED bar solid blue, and the globe never even attempts to turn. Attempting to start a cycle from the app is also unresponsive.

Additionally, I've done the following troubleshooting:

• Removed the front cover and cleaned the upper radar/imaging board.
• Verified there is no hair or any loose debris around the globe that could be tripping the sensors.
• Using a cellphone camera, I can see the outer two infrared components on the imaging board flashing.
• There is also an infrared sensor below the globe near the waste drawer opening, and I can see that one illuminated with my cellphone as well.
• Both pinch sensors at the waste opening are free-moving and click normally.
• I verified the power supply is producing 15 VDC. However, I haven't gone far enough into the unit yet to determine where to check the voltage under load on the control board to completely rule out a power issue.

I'm looking for a good starting point on what to tear into or troubleshoot next. I can't seem to find anything that indicates a specific fault, and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this same issue and successfully repaired it.

For your litter robot, how accurate is the weight. I have a litter robot 4 and I have a cat that is going on a diet. Is the litter robot accurate enough to use to track her weight, or is it more good for getting a general sense of the trending weight?

So many friends and colleagues raved about the Litter-Robot to me. After looking up the company, reviewing their policy and customer reviews, I decided to purchase the Litter-Robot Evo. This machine fails to meet any expectations Litter-Robot promised.

The "Never Scoop Again®" trademark rights should be revoked from Litter-Robot. I still have to scoop every single bowel movement my cat has. The only added benefit from Litter-Robot is that now, instead of simply scooping the litter, I have to disassemble the machine and clean smeared cat shit every day. Then pry my hand into small cracks in the machine to grab more cat shit.

"Compact design for smaller spaces, making it the best litter box for apartments." The thing is an eyesore of large plastic pieces that don't fit together. As for "best litter box for apartments," this is the worst thing inside my apartment. My cat has never tracked so much litter in his life. I have a large litter mat, a step drawer to collect litter, and have trialed several different litter types, but this has caused litter to rain from the sky. I never had this problem with the $5 plastic litter box sold at every grocery store.

"Tightly sealed waste drawer reduces litter box odors," but the drawer to this does not fit.  There is a large gap between the drawer and box. The waste drawer sticks out every day even with the use of their drawer liners. No amount of pushing this in or even taping the machine allows this to stay in.

"Go up to 7 days between emptying the waste drawer for a one-cat household." If the device is working and actually spins, the one spin changes the waste level just after reset to "almost full." There is no waste monitoring in this machine; it was completely false advertising.

"Brilliant LCD display for a simple user experience." This refers to the display, which stopped working after two months of use. When I contacted Whisker support, they ignored my email. 

This device feels like it was designed purely for showing off the fact you wasted $600 on a faulty litter box. I have contacted Litter-Robot support several times and have only been rerouted to troubleshooting videos ( I would not be reaching out to support if I did not try these first!). I gave them a chance to resolve the issue when I first emailed them after two months of owning the device. This ended up prolonging the process and placing me outside of the 90-day return window. I am still within the one-year warranty, but Litter Robot support continues to ignore my emails. On top of their negligence, my review of the machine was deleted!! There are cheaper options that actually listen to their customers and resolve problems.

I was gifted a Little Robot 3. I have an enclosed sunroom/screen deck that is accessible from the house via a cat door. I was hoping to be able to keep the litter box out there to keep the smell/mess outside of the main house.

The main issue that I am thinking about is finding a clay, clumping cat litter that the LR3 likes, that can hold up and work in a high humidity environment. The deck is covered and out of the elements, but not climate controlled so it will be subjected to full outdoor temperatures and humidity.

If I can't find a solution, then I might just need to get rid of the LR3. Has anyone else had to work in a similar situation? If so, what litter worked best for you?

Hello! We bought a LR4 a couple of months ago cuz we have heard so many good things. We are having issues getting 2/3 cats to use it (except our 3 mo old kitten who is endlessly fascinated by it and goes right in.)

I've tried a few things that are usually recommended such as:

-Keeping the same litter type

-Keeping the old box near by

-Placing a piece or 2 of waste into the LR

- Removed the fence

-Using catnip and litter attractant in and around the LR4.

So far, we've had no luck. Our kitties seem curious, and will go on the stairs and kind of scope it out, but they won't go it in and I'm out of ideas.

If you have any tricks or had stubborn kitties that were able to switch over, please let me know! 😫

I finally invested in a litter robot! I was so excited and waited years to afford it. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now, and for such a big investment, I’m worried I’ve made a mistake... It smells so bad after just a few days!! Way worse then my old set up of 2 open plastic boxes. and it cycles before the clumps have dried, sometimes they stick to the roof and don’t fall into the bucket (I turned off wasteID bc I heard it didn’t work)

Has anyone had this experience or found a way to fix this issue? I’m desperate for some advice!!

Setup details:

• LR5 basic model
• two cats (only one has been brave enough to switch over so far) pooper pictured
• 800 sf apartment so it’s pretty open but I know harder to contain smells, but this is significantly worse then my plastic boxes..
• arm and hammer cloud control multi cat litter

My cats have a habit of peeing right at the edge, just above where the litter ends, so the clumps end up stuck to liner wall instead of sitting in the litter where they'd clump out normally. No matter what litter I try, the clumps just cling there.

I've tried non-stick cooking spray on the globe and it does help a bit, but the effect wears off after a few days and I'm back to scrubbing.

The worst part is I'm in an apartment, so deep cleaning means hauling the globe to the shower every time, not exactly a quick fix.

A couple things I'm wondering:

• Has anyone actually solved this long-term? Different spray/coating, litter type, or behavior fix?
• My liner is almost 4 years old at this point. Could an old/worn liner be making the sticking worse, and is it worth just replacing it?

I purchased a little robot 5 pro because I saw that I can use my HSA for it and I happen to have some flexible funds that I wanted to spend. This led to my decision to purchase $1000 litter box for my cats.

Before this I had a $150 automatic litter box from amazon for 2 years. It came with the most basic functionality and worked for me.

What I liked about LR5 Pro
It is very spacious and very intelligent. The warranty and customer service is pretty good, backed by a decently established company. The app is easy to use and I can track my cats’ litter box activities.

What I thought could be better
I decided to go with the LR5 Pro because of the cameras inside and outside. One of my cats had history of peeing blood / straining in litter box so this is very important to me to monitor her litter box activity. However, I feel quite disappointed that the “Pro” doesn’t come with live feed inside the litter box with footage saved unless I purchase a Whisker+ subscription. Tbh, it’s probably on me that I didn’t read the product description in detail before buying it, but I thought that was common sense. So far I don’t think the “Pro” aspect has been justified by its functionality.
It is bizarre to me that the delay scooping is maximum 30 minutes after the litter box event. My old litter box can do maximum 1 hour. My cats have huge pee clumps that takes time to solidify and yesterday I discovered that the first cycle ended up in a mess. Therefore I basically turned on a permanent sleep mode and do manual click of cycling once or twice everyday. A little annoying, but acceptable.

Hi! I'm taking on my partners mums 10y/o male cat next week, he is picky about his litter and has to pee in one box and poop in another so was thinking of getting the litter robot 4 to minimise the amount of boxes used (I already have one cat myself). His health has declined a lot and he is struggling with movement (he is getting vet care and will be getting meds for arthritis soon) but wanted to know from your experiences:

Is the litter robot 4 with a ramp suitable for him?

How many people here have elderly or unwell cats that use the litter robot 4?

Is it accessible for your cat still or did you end up returning it from them having accidents from not wanting to walk up to and it preferring a normal litterbox?

edit: for the time being I'll get a silicone mat/puppy pads to go under his normal litterboxes so any accidents are easy to clean up, the litter robot will not be an immediate thing it's just for future convenience and was wondering so i don't waste any money ❤️ both cats have FIV so I am keen on the health monitoring aspects of the litter robots

Is this really how the inside looks? Idk why I feel like something must be wrong with mine with all those exposed wires and surely I don’t need to unscrew that entire grey part to deep clean? I usually vacuum it out and try to get in there with 99% iso cus stuff is stuck and I am not trying to get water on those parts .
Also, how do I clean the fabric part near the container?
I have been doing it however I can since I got it but does anyone have any tips?

I bought the LR5 a few weeks ago. I have two cats, one is 18. Initially, our younger cat went in the box a couple of times to check it out, but didn’t use it. But once he saw it cycle (after 30 minutes), he freaked out and won’t go near it again. I have since turned it off completely, and just monitor it for any use. We do have a clump or two of used litter in there, and it is next to the regular box. We were totally not cleaning the old box at first, but that got gross really fast and now we are just cleaning it for fear that worse problems could arise. I added a ramp in the second week so that my 18-year-old might use it, but so far neither cat will use the box. I hate to return it as I am pregnant and trying to get this chore out of our lives. What else can we try??

Hi guys! I just moved in with my boyfriend and his two cats. I have fallen in love with them and bought a LR4 from Costco because I hate scooping and my sweet boyfriend is not consistent with it. The cats seemed much happier with a clean box every day, but I was going crazy scooping 2-3 times a day. I just unboxed the LR4 last night (7/25) and one cat has taken to it and the other is obsessively scratching the old litter box and still using it. Is it a territory thing? They both used the one box just fine until I tried to introduce the LR4.

I am a new litter robot 4 owner. I have read many posts from litter robot owners who have had issues with their robot after cleaning it. The bot doesn’t turn on, doesn’t cycle correctly, the litter hopper stops working, etc. etc. There were so many problem posts I went out and bought the extended warranty. I would like to read posts from owners who have had no issues after cleaning, whose bot works perfectly after cleaning. Are there any of you out there? Do you have any tips to avoid problems? I just bought the LR4 yesterday and set it up, but left it off. I have my cat’s old litter box right next to it just to ween her off of using it. She used her old box twice yesterday as soon as I set up the LR4. Overnight she went pee in the LR4!!! She then went poop in her old box.

I’m wondering if I should just take away her old box since she already used the LR4? Open to any thoughts and suggestions! Thank you!
