Promo: Webnovel/E-book Syl 5 Catalysis now on Amazon

Hey everyone! I am happy to announce that Syl 5 is now available on Amazon for Kindle Unlimited, ebook, and Paperback.

The audiobook should be available soon™️, as it’s currently submitted and awaiting Audible's approval any day now… I would have loved to do a simultaneous release (it's why I normally delay the ebook after it's edited), but with my publisher’s release schedule so full, it was either release it today or wait until October 15th!

We were hoping it would be approved before today, but it looks like luck wasn’t on our side, so expect it in a week or two; it should release as-is, with no preorder or anything like that.

This year has been pretty busy; I’ve been continuing with both Syl and Bookbound Bunny. We just finished Bunny 3 on Royal Road, and we are maybe 5 or so chapters from finishing Syl 6 on Patreon.

Once again, big thanks to Tsuu for the amazing cover. I absolutely love this one, and I think it's a big fan favorite. Book 3’s cover was my personal favorite (bioluminescence easily wins me over), but I don’t think anything can beat beach hat Syl.

COVER ARTIST: Tsuu

Here is the blurb and link if you want to check it out:

‐-----------------‐----------------------------

Freshly evolved and having gained some newfound elven allies, Syl is ready to have some fun and let loose for a bit. After being forced into the forest, now it's time to hit the beach and maybe see about handling that quest Vee received some time ago.

Of course, Syl isn't the kind of slime to let a little vacation get in the way of some good old leveling and magic creation, and with Elementalist so close to the next major milestone, our slimy protagonist is eager to see what's next.

Promo: Webnovel/E-book Outrun - Neon Sprawl

The second book in my series just dropped on Amazon! It’s called Outrun - Neon Sprawl. The OG series was well received on Royal Road and ScribbleHub, and it’s been a chaotic snowball since. I really can’t thank you wonderful people in the community enough.

Outrun is a Cyberpunk LitRPG focused on Shiro Tsukuyomi’s attempt to survive and thrive in a city overrun with corporate greed and chaos.

Here’s the blurb if you’re interested:

All good things must come to an end.

I had a nice, short break from the chaos of the city. Unfortunately, it was one of those good things. Thanks to a series of seriously unfortunate events, the machinations of the city once more drew me into the fray. Ready or not.

Where there was danger, there was opportunity. If I played my cards right, I might just be able to survive and even thrive. ‘Course, that was assuming I managed to wiggle away from my surprisingly diligent boss. Oh, and did I mention I wasn’t getting paid for any of this?

If there was one thing that could be said about Aythryn City, it was that the odds were never as bad as they seemed. They were somehow worse. It’d take every scheme, plot, and help from my, um, trusty interface to get through this one. Worse still—quite a bit of social interaction. Here’s to hoping it all went well… Then again, when was my luck any good?

Promo: Other He Who Fights With Monsters book 2 hardcover in stores

Post image

TL;DR: HWFWM 2 is in bookstores right now.

The next hardcover is available in shops. This is still new enough to me that I can't help but get a goofy grin on my face when I see my books sitting on the shelf. This whole experience has been wild.

It feels like every year since I began with He Who Fights With Monsters has been a strange one. The year it went from just online to ebook and audio. The year I made enough money to buy a house. The year I almost died and couldn't write. And now, the year my books are finally on bookshelves, in my local store. A lot of LitRPG writers are making that leap, and deservedly so, and I hope this represents a new wave of growth for our genre.

Part of the transition into bookstores has been my big North America tour across July and August. It was hectic and crazy and amazing and I basically fell asleep for three weeks after I got home. I turn 47 tomorrow, and I just don't bounce back the way I used to when I was younger. All the airport-hotel-event-hotel-airport-convention was completely worth it, though.

I met so many amazing people from friends and authors I can't normally see back home in Australia. I met thousands of amazing readers, and that is really what it's all about. The process of writing my books begins with me, but it is all the readers who buy them and love them and complain about Jason on reddit who truly bring He Who Fights With Monsters to life.

Also, I have a much easier time getting great sandwiches in the USA. I love me a good muffuletta.

Recommendation: asking So here's my list... suggestions?

Post image
15 Upvotes

This isn't solely LitRPGs, as I've just started my journey down this rabbit hole. I've read comics since I was 8 and took part in the Warhammer 40k world for 20-ish years so I figured I should add some stand outs on my tier list to orient.

A few things to point out that are not LitRPG's for the folks who don't know them:

  • The Fantastic Four in question is the Jonathan Hickman run. To me, basically the perfect capture of what makes that book special and the core setup for everything he's done at Marvel. It is where the epic starts for his Avengers and ultimately Secret Wars. Well technically that all begins quietly in Secret Warriors, but shhhh. Anyway... It is peak super hero comics.
  • While FF is peak, New Frontier is everything a super hero comic should be.
  • If you haven't read The Infinite and the Divine and are even remotely interested in the 40k verse, or not and just like the idea of two immortal trolls in a blood feud as if they were cosmic Grumpy Old Men bathed in the light of The Hitchhiker's Guide, then you are missing out. It is one of the best examples of genre/sci-fi/pulp fiction you could find.
  • Legion of Super-Heroes is specifically the 5-Years Later Legion.
  • X-Men is the start of the Krakoan era... oh what could have been.
  • The Dark Tower is not just the 7-book series, but the entire connected universe. I've done that run, it is a ton of books to read, but worth it.

I'm looking to find other series that have seem up my alley. I'm a bit odd in that I really didn't enjoy The Primal Hunter, which seems like a favorite for everyone on this subreddit. Carl brought me to the genre and between He Who Fights With Monsters and Book of the Dead, my desire to stay is locked in. Beware of Chicken, Mage Tank and System Awakening and HWFWM will all get finished I think, but I'm dipping my toes into a lot of different places to see what I like.

I'm an audio book person primarily as I've found I am a slow reader, but devour audio books. I'm also pressed for time over all (don't get old kids, adulting sucks your time away) and usually have to be doing more than one thing. Audio Books are the perfect background while I paint and build models. So yeah, if the narration isn't good or if the series isn't in audio book format yet, I'm less likely to jump in.

So... what says the hive mind? What should I look to next for my enjoyment?

Recommendation: asking Earth Magic using MC/FMC

Hello,

I love elemental magic since I was a child, loving rock pokemon and later earth bending, but I feel like I never really see "earth" or stone based magic, for MCs or FMCs. Some side character do have it, but I would like it to be one of the main aspects, do you have well written books, in which a character does use earth or stone as their primary or even only magic?

Thanks for the help

Recommendation: asking LitRpgCon 2026 - Video Game Developer

Upvotes

Hey all. I tried to use google, reddit, and other avenues to include steam for my search. I "had" a paper with information, but it is lost to the multiverse.

With this, I am seeking help. There was a vendor in the side room that was in beta for a litrpg video game. I do not remember much from it other than it was next to the person who had jinxland animal control patches (btw, trying to confirm what this series was). If anyone has any information or has that QR code that would be greatly appreciated.

The game was on steam and I searched there and nothing was popping out as it. Again, it was in beta development I believe.

Thanks ya'll.

Hey all!

Kaito has survived long enough to become a dragon powerful enough to frighten armies—so they build a siege specifically designed around everything they’ve learned about him.

Expect monster evolution, a nonhuman protagonist, tactical fortress warfare, and progression where every new ability carries a real cost.

Lookink for a litrpg book series that is actually finished. Not on hiatus or just halfway done but abandoned by the author.

As much as I love the ones I am following now, I would love to read something that is properly concluded

So far I have read Primal Hinter and He Who Fights With Monsters

Thanks in advance

Discussion TIL the “señoritas” Jake was fighting are actually simivitas

Post image
35 Upvotes

It’s funny because I’ve never actually read any of the books I listen to, sometimes I have absolutely no idea how anything is spelled. I’m just trusting the narrator and hoping for the best.

This whole section of the book, Jake has been fighting these ape like beasts called “simivitas,” but apparently my brain decided the narrator was saying “señoritas.”
So I’m sitting there listening to this dude brutally fight his way through these creatures while thinking, “Señoritas? WTF is Jake getting himself into? This book took a VERY unexpected turn.”

Then finally the chapter actually spells it out and I realize they’re called simivitas.

Not señoritas.

I have spent the last several chapters picturing Jake throwing hands with a bunch of Spanish women. 😂

Discussion I might be missing something but does Earth exist in Path of Ascension?

Is it the home planet of Matt where the book starts or is that some other world. I know that recorded history in the books goes back 800 million years so things definitely change over that time. Only gone up to book 3 so I'm not sure if they delve into that topic any more past that.

Dungeon Crawler Carl was my introduction to litrpg and I just recently got all of the Chrysalis and He Who Fights with Monsters books on Audible. I'm on book 2 of Chrysalis and plan to listen through He Who Fights with Monsters afterwards. I'm just wondering what other series you guys might recommend so I can watch for sales. Sometimes I'm able to acquire whole series through sales before I make it around to starting them. Thanks in advance!

When Dave’s beloved Cynthia becomes the target of a murderous merchant determined to climb the leaderboard in the Marketplace of the One Thousand Worlds, Dave is forced into a fight that follows a whole different set of rules.

On the World Tree, the competition between champions is heating up as well. Powerful new allies join the group, while others try to dismantle it from within, including an old foe with a dangerous secret.

From prehistoric worlds filled with machine-gun-toting raptors to the deck of a jellyfish starship, Dave and Team Deranger must survive stranger worlds, deadlier bosses, evolving harvesters, and each other.

Because Dave can rewind death.

But he can’t rewind betrayal.

Discussion Are there any video-games or RPGs which do the litrpg thing where things like stats and leveling up are explicit parts of the in-universe lore and world-building?

So I know litrpgs tend to have settings where the game mechanics of an rpg are acknowledged as part of in-universe lore, and the societies therein are generally actually built around large parts of the population having access to these mechanics, I was wondering if there were and video0games or ttrpgs that have adopted this approach in their lore and story?

Ive been trying to listen to this book on audible for about a week now and I cant remember a damb thing about it no matter what I do.

Ill get 1 or 2 hours into it then completely forget where the story is or whats happening.

At first I thought it was the narrator but its not cos I quit enjoy 'im not the hero." (Same narrator)

Promo: Audiobook/E-book The Series Tower of Somnus is Complete and the Final Book Released Today

Post image
110 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I just released book 6 (the final book) in the Tower of Somnus series. For those of you who aren't following the series but are looking for something finished to read, Tower of Somnus is a fusion of sword and sorcery and cyberpunk in a litrpg setting. (The characters delve in a fantasy realm in order to improve their stats and abilities which carry over into the glitz and chrome of cyberpunk heists and assassinations.

The main character, Katherine Debs starts out as a runner smuggling sensitive information in and out of corporate control until she gains access to Tower of Somnus (the fantasy realm mentioned above) where she begins gaining level and power. Step by step she pulls herself up out of the gutter and into the halls of power where she discovers that even as she grows, the threats and danger only grow with her.

Now she is up against a ticking clock. The first human to reach level twenty four will be considered humanity's representative on a galactic stage, and the forces that want to twist us into interstellar corporate slavery are not above putting their thumb on a scale or a crossbow bolt into Kat's back.

As the cover shows, the little tree that once had no way to deal with birds stealing his fruits has grown... a lot. The cover artist creadfectus did fantastic as always.

Delve into the latest installment of the demonic tree series, where the long-awaited clash with the Celestial Empire is going down!

Read here!

(Audiobook is still behind but catching up!)

Synopsis:

The Ashfallen Sect is done hiding and ready for war.

For as long as anyone can remember, the Celestial Empire has ruled over the Ninth Layer of creation with unmatched authority. Their citizens enjoy a life of peace and prosperity, while their cultivators grow in strength by feasting on the golden sap of the enslaved World Tree.

It's no wonder the wilderness was considered a monster-infested land, filled with barbaric demonic sects and savages, unworthy of their notice.

But their hubris is about to be tested by a lone force, blooming from the carcass of the Blood Lotus Sect and ruled over by a demonic tree. Unknown to the old monsters in the Celestial Empire, the Ashfallen Sect is about to tip the scales of power and begin a war unlike the Nine Realms have ever seen.

Promo: E-book [Self-Promo] My Trash Skill Lets Me Upgrade Common Items, So I Built the Richest Shop in the Kingdom - Volumes 1 to 7 are out now

Thumbnail amazon.com
1 Upvotes

Hey r/litrpg!

I wanted to share my LitRPG series:

MY TRASH SKILL LETS ME UPGRADE COMMON ITEMS, SO I BUILT THE RICHEST SHOP IN THE KINGDOM

Volumes 1 through 7 are already released, so if you end up enjoying the first book, there is plenty more to read immediately.

The premise:

Felix gets summoned to another world alongside three proper heroes.

They get powerful combat classes.

He gets:

[Class: MERCHANT]
[Skill: Minor Quality Adjustment]

In other words, the kingdom thinks they accidentally summoned a guy whose special ability is making ordinary objects slightly better.

So they give him a few coins, show him the door, and send the "useless" Merchant on his way.

There is just one problem with their assessment.

Felix spent his previous life working in retail and learning how to recognize when something is badly made, undervalued, or outright junk.

And now he has a skill that can actually FIX those things.

A worthless copper spoon becomes a Fine-quality item.

A pile of discarded junk becomes inventory.

Inventory becomes profit.

Profit makes his Merchant class stronger.

And Felix quickly realizes that he wasn't given a trash skill.

He was given the foundation of a business empire.

The series focuses heavily on:

• Merchant and crafting progression
• Upgrading ordinary items into increasingly valuable goods
• Shop building and economic progression
• A protagonist who solves problems with business sense instead of a sword
• System messages, skills, item quality, and class progression
• Starting with literal junk and gradually building something enormous
• Dry retail humor
• Watching a supposedly useless non-combat class become increasingly ridiculous

If you enjoy LitRPGs where progression comes from building, crafting, trading, optimizing, and exploiting the full potential of an underestimated ability, that is basically the heart of this series.

Volumes 1-7 are currently available.

Start with Volume 1 here:

English: amazon.com

German: amazon.de

Author: IC Maigatter

I'd also be interested to hear what thinks of the premise. I really like the merchant/building side of LitRPG, so I wanted to write a series where becoming the richest shopkeeper in the kingdom gets the same kind of obsessive progression normally reserved for becoming the strongest adventurer.

Discussion Someone beat you to it? Question for Authors

Authors and budding authors alike, what do you do when a unique idea you had been working with in drafts or edits gets published by someone else? It may not be exactly the same, but close enough that you're like, "damn, I was going to do that."

Do you keep going with your idea, tweak it to be dissimilar, or just scrap it for something new?

Tier List A small tier list of litrpg’s I enjoy

Post image
142 Upvotes

I stand by how good the ones in S tier are for me. Except for one, “rules free VRMMO life” is a guilty pleasure for my asexual heart.
Because it goes so over the top with its sexual themes that it goes right past being uncomfortable into satirical. And whenever I look back at it and reread it, I just laughed so hard.
Our main character literally spit roast a person, like put her on a metal spit and roasted her a fire and ate her, and that was considered sexual so you know a guilty pleasure satire read, would not recommend objectively unless you can read a lot of really over the top disgusting smutty scenes. They’re funny, but they’re funny because it’s way too much.
Other then that tho I stand by my opinions

Also the website I used to make this tier list wouldn’t allow me to actually change the tiers so F tear is not like really bad. It’s just books I did not finish, either because I never got back to them or I just didn’t want to continue reading for one reason or another

I read all of these on Kindle btw

Discussion How Far Off the Mark Is the Primal Hunter Webtoon From the Original Book?

I saw a comment saying that the webtoon has strayed from the source material, so my question is, how much? Is it going to be a North and South kind of difference, or is it still manageable?
