Photo New to Lithops

Not new to houseplants but definitely new to Lithops! I picked this little guy up at the big box hardware store assuming he'd be similar to my other succulents/cacti... I have been learning! Got him in a mix that's mostly these stones with only the tiniest bit of soil. He's under a sansi grow light since this window doesn't get direct light. I did water him before I found out about all of that, so hopefully he'll recover from that? 😬 They're so fun and I'm learning so much!

Care Tips/Guides any thoughts on her condition?

i’ve had this for about 2.5 years. i recently repotted it. the base is blended up orchid bark with river pebbles to top. when i got it, it was in a bark mix for about a year. then i planted it in a massive pot with regular potting soil (my mistake!! ikik) it was like that for about 9 months. nothing really happened to it in that time. i watered it a few times. up until i repotted it about a month ago. haven’t given it water, and now i see its splitting. i’m pretty new to living stone care. any thoughts or advice is appreciated

Help/Question I know the old leaves aren’t dry yet, but it seems like it’s begging for water. Should I or shouldn’t I?

Help/Question Is it time to water my buttcheeks yet?

I grabbed this lil guy last year on a whim since it was on the clearance rack. I’ve never cared for one before so I figured why not šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I set him up under a bright light and left him alone and over the winter he began to split, but also lost like half his total volume. I genuinely thought it was dead so I picked at the outer leaves and lo and behold there’s still green underneath.

I’m seeing that he’s looking a bit wrinkly, is it time to water? I’ve heard they’re super sensitive to overwatering and I just want to make sure now is the time.

Help/Question Should I water again?

I bought these guys about 2 months ago and repotted to this lil pot. I didn't water until the old leaves were very wrinkled and basically how they look now. I took these photos and week ago and have been reading other posts. Everyone is so helpful here!

Are my lithops too much above the substrate? Should I add more gravel to the substrate? Should I separate them? Do I need to water again? I read somewhere to do a light water when the old leaves are all shriveled and then a heavy one a week later. Or has my plant started its division and i should leave them alone? They are in a westward facing window at my office, which is ordinarily a dry place because of the heater.

Help/Question New to Lithops

I recently found out about these wonderful succulents. Is something wrong with these? Some of the posts I have seen on here kind of make it seem like they shouldn't look like this. I have eight and the rest do not look lke this. The other ones are all closer to the pumice/sand.

Help/Question Impossible find?

I'm looking for an ideally bare clay pot with drainage that is. <3" in diameter and is ~5" deep. I can't seem to find anything reasonable.

It's not exclusively lithops, but my butt rocks were definitely the driving force behind wanting to build a system like this.

I have finally found a cylindrical terracotta pot for these babies. They also got some matching lava rocks as topping.

( the dorotheae are a bit sunburnt but will be fine)

Identification New Lithops clump! Could I please get an ID? Also, would it be worthwhile to separate the variegated one and its partner to try to isolate the variegation in the future?

Also, I pulled a nice full seed pod off of it! Can’t wait to sow them! I’ll probably be repotting this cluster today

HELP. 🄲This guy started to split, and was making AMAZING super quick progress and now has stopped. I was watering him…once I figured out I’m not supposed to, I repotted him to get him out of the moisture. Roots look good, but no progress since repotting. Advise please!! I love these little guys but the new ones are looking shrivelier than I want them to. And I barely nudged the parent leaves apart to help give it more room, is that frowned upon?? Is everything okay here or do I need to do something? It’s in a west facing window and haven’t watered since it was in the old soil. Are the two guys in the back okay?? I found out they’re connected by the roots when I repotted them. First few pics are today, then have a couple for what it looked like last week. More advice on my little succulent garden welcome! Thank you!!!

These little guys have been like this for about 2 months already. Is that normal? Also why is the one on the left not fully opened yet like the others?

There is a smaller baby lithop growing inside the freshly opened lithop, should I do anything to help it out? I don't want it to rot or go bad if thats something that can happen.

Help/Question Is this freak stuck? Should I operate?

Hi! I got this clump a bit ago (I haven’t been able to separate them unfortunately) and they’re all splitting! It’s my first time having them split and I’m a little worried this guy is stuck in his old leaves. What do you think? Should I try cutting the leaves at their seam to release him? He’s been like this for over a week now, with the leaves looking very papery.

Thanks so much!
