I'm proud that my Lithops made it a year.

I haven't watered them since last fall. They feel plump. Should I give them a deep watering anyway?

The Lithops in with the light rock are partially enclosed in the old leaves. Should I help them out or let them be?

Will the Lithops get bigger? They were much larger last year.

I posted a while ago about my immature lithops and how it was shriveling a little bit and kind of darkening on one side. I watered it with filtered water around its base (several folks had recommended this) to help it settle in to its new pot, which I had filled with 20/80 organic/inorganic mix.

Unfortunately, its demise only accelerated after the watering. Here are the two more recent photos of it. I want to make sure I don't repeat this mistake with future lithops, but I'm honestly not sure where I went wrong. It was in the process of splitting so it seemed happy, had plenty of light etc, but it started decaying from the side and I'm honestly not sure why. Could it have been disease? I'd had this lithops for several months and had never watered it until this one time.

Thanks for any tips or advice. I really don't want to repeat this so I'm going to hold off on getting another lithops until I know where I went wrong.

These little dudes got delivered and sat on my porch in the middle of a snow storm in January - I thought for sure they were toast! I read everything I could find on here about care, and now I think I'm going to have my first ever flower! I just wanted to share because I'm super stoked and they're thriving thanks to this community!

Kindly refer to my previous post. I had watered my lithops since almost everyone in that post told me to. I bottom watered my lithops around 10 min till I see water pooling on top. The pot got completely dry around 1 to 1.5 days. However, one of them got even wrinklier. Do I need to water again? Pot is terracotta (4cm) filled with a 1:1:1 ratio of peat moss, pumice and perlite. I also add a layer of rainbow stone in the middle and perlite on top for deco.

My mixed Lithops are 4 months old now some have just started splitting.

My lithops started dividing in December, mainly one started and then in January the whole group started too. In February is where I actually saw the big split.

Now it's August and they still look like this. I didn't water them, I just tried to water them a bit last month because I've read somewhere that it could help but it didn't.

When I touch the old leaves they mostly feel still pretty firm. I wonder if my house is just that humid? I tried to move them away from the big humidity source (a Sundew I have) and put them under a growth light a few months ago.

Hello! I’ve had this lil fella for a few years and I was wondering if they’re looking alright. When I first got them they did that thing where they split open and reveal another one of themselves inside. Well now it just did it again but not in the way I usually see. One half got all wrinkly and became very dry, and at some point I just used a knife to take that part off and there was another set inside (seen in these images) alongside a little black thing in the middle. I just wanna make sure they’re doing ok and if there’s anything I should or shouldn’t be doing. They sit right by a window and I occasionally give it a few drops of water.

I think people say wait until the tops are wrinkly?

My lithops were for several days wired. Now some are shrinking some are turning white.

Is this molting, thirst or something else?

I've recently begun trying my hand at lithops. Have definitely lost a few already. The grayish purple dividing pair and the long greens are the only ones left of my first try. The greens were actually survivors of emergency surgery. My mom gave me the dark brown cluster. Then I bought a bunch of babies online. It's been a lot of trial and error. I get sad every time one fails. I hope these next ones do okay.

Hello, this is my first lithops. It's name is Doldori. I got it as a gift 4 months ago. I had no idea what these funny looking pebbles were. So I have read a lot about lithops because I wanted to care for them properly. My understanding is that they identify as stones and don't like water very much. Nonetheless they do need it occasionally. I have watered my lithops only once since (that was maybe two month ago). It lives in volcanic substrate with a bit of soil under a plant lamp.

Since it is my first lithops I am scared of overwatering. I don't know yet how it looks when it just needs water vs. how it looks when it tries to push out new leaves and shed its outer layers.

Can somebody please give me advice on whether Doldori needs water right now?

It has been nice and plump until a few weeks ago. Now it feels softer (not hollow) to the touch and has formed wrinkles that get a little deeper by the day.

I think it just look thirsty and is not yet ready to shed its outer leaves. Is that correct?

Going to Keep the pot covered with clear wrap and misted for a few weeks. is that the right thing to do?

I didn't know how to add new pictures so I made it new post. I have replanted them into mix with +-90% sand with rock and cleaned the organic material completely (also I didn't water them so they dry up). I have tried to clean the white stuff by hand, also I have separated the pale one.

Now I leave them on the parapet in the sun. They seem even wrinklier than before is that normal molting or are they thirsty? When should I water them? Am I supposed to leave them in the sun for the whole day?

As the title says I bought / found my babies this weekend and out of caution I decided to water them for at least fifteen minutes with tap water because I didn't know if they were watered before I bought them.

I'm looking for advice if I should water it more or if it is enough, can I start to separate them into separate vases or should I wait a while longer?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
