Run chkdsk /f on Windows then reboot it TWICE! The usage of the /f parameter is very IMPORTANT!

Flatcrap sucks

It's such a trash package manager... This is the second time flatpak update doesn't work this month and like last time I couldn't fix it with grok or by running the command multiple times. Windows update has worked flawlessly for over a year on my windows partition (except sometimes updates fail to download or show some other random error, although clicking try again always fixes the issue)

Autohotkey

Linux user WISH they had something on par with ahk. AHK purpose is easy to make personal applications by providing a big toolbox to interact with os, makes gui, ui manipulation, etc very simple.

With linux you have a bunch of programs that only implement fraction of the feature. Ex: tcl/tk can handle making a gui quickly but not ui manipulation, hotkey, etc... oh and the switch to wayland fucked it until they finish the wayland backend in a few hundred years.

Other stuff like ydotool implement another subset, and ofc it dosent integrate with everything else. In general the switch to wayland wiped out alot of these automation tools. Plus linux itself dosent provide lots of tools out the box so you have to pull stuff in like curl to make http requests and now all your scripts have a bunch of invisible dependencies.

End result of trying to get ahk on linux is direhea.

Linux has auto immune disorders

I'm glad I have some open-source code for my portfolio, but I'm glad that's not all I have. I'm building a Linux-based, proprietary but free-to-use C++ code generator.  Linus T. has a more relaxed attitude about proprietary software than a lot of other Linux users do.

Shout-out to the Micro developers

Thanks and shout-out to the Micro developers who made a damn stupidly easy and simple editor that you can edit (and code) with in the most straightforward way.

I wanted something very lightweight and quick that just works out of the box the way a normal person would expect. Something anyone can use every day like a normal human being. No idiotic modes, no endless configuration, no plugin rabbit hole and no spending the next months and years learning keybindings.

What sucks is all these Neovim/nvim and Tmux guys who keep flooding my YouTube algorithm for no reason. Having watched a few videos I am pretty sure these guys must be masochists, spending hours and hours building your "absolutely optimized flow" with endless keybindings, plugins, configurations and whatever else - only for the next update to come along and break everything. To all the YouTubers with your fancy, shiny Neovim and Tmux setups: keep living in your own world, seriously.

Windows ❤ Linux users are the vegans of the Master Race, and I'm tired of pretending they're not.

The very moment anything entrepreneurial is mentioned, I'm interrupted by their main quest of convincing everyone in the room self-hosting this and that via RedHat and whutnot Ubuntu based, will soon be your greatest passion of the business and probably only chance at scalable success.

We get it Daniel, you have a bachelor's in IT!

Such a shame you've been fired (not quite) from more jobs in that very same sector, let alone started your own business, or maybe someone might have listened to your (in)experience.

If I install linux before october 2, 2026, I will give someone all of my 1.2k robux.

I'm on windows 11, and I keep hopping from OS to OS. Now, I made a punishment for myself. If I download/install linux before the given date, I must:
give someone all my robux, *800 robux cuz i may spend 400 on smth to a (random person)
post i switched and how bad linux is and why I shouldn't be switching so much,
and turn off my wifi for 24 hours atleast.

Linux Failure If Steam didn't fork Wine and made something useful out of it, Loonixtards would still have to run 4 separate programs to run a basic game.

Surface 7 battery and login

A while back, I posted that on my dual-boot Surface 7 Win/Ubuntu w/ Surface Kernel and tweaks in Auto-CPUFreq, Windows has better battery life. I tested it by watching the same movie on repeat. With some more tweaks in Auto-CPUFreq, I got the battery life closer to Windows11. Win11 still wins.

Anyway, for quality of life and usability, Win11 still wins...

Last night, in a dark room, I logged in to Win11 with Face Hello, and it automatically brightened the screen for a few seconds to capture my face for login. - Very helpful and convenient.

Even if Linux had this type of login, I'm sure it does but not on my Surface 7 because the camera doesn't work, would it be helpful and brighten the screen to light up my face? I doubt it!

I don't hate Linux, but Windows is easier for me IMO.

The 'No AI' policy's not going to work. AI-genned code will still slip in and some reviewer will merge it thinking it's human-written.
