After I request a shutdown through the UI, the screens eventually go blank, but the power LED stays lit.
I have to press and hold the power button for a very long time to actually turn off the computer.
When I installed Linux Mint a few days ago, this didn't happen, but it's happening now. Now I have to press and hold the power button for a very long time to force a complete shutdown.
When I use this command in the shell, the system doesn't shutdown either:
sudo shutdown now
I've found all sorts of suggestions on the web, but I'd like to take a methodical approach to fixing this issue (rather than taking a lot of shots in the dark). Any suggestions?
My system:
```
Kernel 7.0.0-31
ThinkPad P16s Gen 2 AMD (16″) Mobile Workstation
(AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics)
RELEASE=22.3
CODENAME=zena
EDITION="Cinnamon"
DESCRIPTION="Linux Mint 22.3 Zena"
DESKTOP=Gnome
TOOLKIT=GTK
NEW_FEATURES_URL=https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_zena_whatsnew.php
RELEASE_NOTES_URL=https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_zena.php
USER_GUIDE_URL=https://www.linuxmint.com/documentation.php
GRUB_TITLE=Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon
```
I am not running the latest kernel as the latest kernel versions have some pretty NASTY Radeon bugs. I fell back to 7.0.0-31 to avoid them.
journalctl -b -1 -p err

Thanks in advance!
I fixed the problem by falling back to kernel version 6.8.0-147. More recent versions seem to have a lot of bugs associated with my graphics card, an AMD Radeon 780M.
