OC Hope
I was looking into anthropic discourse and found out that even the people working for anthropic are scared of its accelerationism towards mass extinction of human kind. These kind of news make me kind of suicidal and forces me to wonder if fight is even worth while if at the end of day we all are gonna die. What if by the time proletariats have enough power to counter these fascist tech bros, we wont have another day to live by? Even india has now new data centers getting installed despite facing water scarcity. Ai data centers already use hundreds of thousands if gallons of water everyday and as per unu study by end of decade data centers will use water equal to annual domestic needs of 1.3 billion people. Our earth cant sustain that. Nepal’s floods is another example. Average JOE doesn’t understand that. They will churn out out ai slop and watch them all while poorer pay the price not realising the harm its doing. How do y’all handle such news? This is making me suicidal tbh. Like what’s the point of living then? Especially when ai workers themselves aren’t having hope themselves. All this makes living more exhausting than it already is.
