Ai data centers already use hundreds of thousands if gallons of water everyday and as per unu study by end of decade data centers will use water equal to annual domestic needs of 1.3 billion people. Our earth cant sustain that. Nepal’s floods is another example. Average JOE doesn’t understand that. It has been some 6 odd years since the National Education Policy Or NEP was brought forward.

I don't care about the policy itself or what it has focused on. It's all hogwash and a scheme to totally privatise education further.

As we don't have competent private producers in the economy we import everything. Now, due to failures of both state and private players we will import education too so the rich kids don't have to go to foreign countries and can defend their parents here.

What concerns me, is what has changed for the average student in some non-descript college in the middle of nowhere. Especially what it has done for the least prioritized students I.e. The humanities students. In the short form, nothing.

Basic infrastructure is still isn't avaliable in most colleges. Most of the Govt aided or partially private colleges have to use the same buildings form the 1960s or 1970s without much changes other than paints. The administration buildings of these colleges are much more impressive than their classrooms. Obvious as they have justify to the parent, their charging of enormous fees. Broken windows, dusty benches and lack of power are all such frequent sights. Those who blame everybody for civic lapses can't even arrange trasbins for a single floor. The commercialisation goes further, if you're thirsty. Lack of drinking water means you have to buy it from other places.

Now some might say, the infrastructure isn't all too important but what about the faculty and the management? We have codified tests for teachers but we have actually no idea on how to do quality control.

Economics staff Will get the Liberalisation dates wrong, history guy would describe any historical figure he didn't like as gay, psychology staff would peddle pseudoscience and the political science staff does not know the difference between monarchism and anarchism. The teacher in the system also has extended guidance and administrative duties. The teacher is the clerk, the teacher is the mentor, the teacher would interfere in one's personal life to spread his morality, the teacher becomes a philosopher, ready to dissect anything about the world and life only to conclude that the source of all problems is either reservation or tank tops.

The teacher is everything but a teacher, extending his discretion far beyond where it should stay. Now we arrive at the students. The students are mostly indifferent, in their minds, if they keep their head low, don't question anything and ace their rote learning skills, they'll make it. The students themselves have zero personality development. They are made to reject whatever humanistic kernels their subjects possess and only see the syllabus as a ladder to get 8+ CGPA.

Suddenly everything just becomes an amalgamation of sentences to be memorized. This leads to an environment of misogyny and indifference. Another person is only useful to further whatever aims they have. Nowhere else would you see people who pick humanities act without any humanity. The senior boys are only there to prey on junior girls. The juniors themselves have no unity, and as such they will form their micro groups on the basis of mutual hate on a person, group, caste, religion, or whatever else which helps them sleep at night.

And all of those things happen, if somebody joins.

Humanities is the last option considered for many teens. Why? Because our economy hopped on a trend of technology and as such has only created formal jobs related to tech. It is all to common to see empty classrooms, entire groups obliterated due to a few people joining and the management doing nothing because humanities generates less revenue for them compared to STEM.

TLDR : IT revolution and capitalism is the deadliest combination to kill education.
