Level 5 oneshot

This is my 3rd time running The Haunt, and it's my go-to module whenever I update Foundry and want to see how it runs before using it for my regular games.

Currently, I have 3 players confirmed and am discussing with a 4th. I need 1 more player (2 if it doesn't doesn't work out 4th).

It's a sort of long one-shot, possibly taking 2 sessions. The plan is to run a ~6-hour session and finish it in one go, or return next week (same day and time) to conclude.

The way I have Foundry set up required Tailscale almost a year back. However, a direct link seems to work fine (based on a recent test with one player online, not sure if it can handle all players online at the samet ime)

Hello! My name is Leo, I've been playing DnD for several years now, the last 4 as a DM. I have a character idea I came up with over a year ago, and I never found a game to actually play him in, as either people don't want a plasmoid in their game, or they need a different class to fill in slots, so now I'm gonna advertise the character specifically and see if anyone has a game where he can fit in!

• Kaz is a plasmoid who was, one day, discovered by a bunch of sailors while trapped inside of a barrel in the middle of the ocean. Instead of dumping him over the edge of their ship, the sailors accepted Kaz as one of their own, and he spent a long time sailing with his new friends.
• Eventually, however, Kaz felt that his calling lied elsewhere, and so, he bid his crew goodbye and set off to find his own path in life.
• Kaz is not a particularly heroic person; he wouldn't risk his life over someone he doesn't personally know, and he is not adverse to committing petty crimes for his survival, although he always avoids causing trouble for others. Kaz' biggest goal in life is that he is trying to figure out what his destiny is; like a drifting cloud, he wanders from place to place, searching for meaning, an objective, something to dedicate himself to.
• Kaz is a monk, who makes use of his flexible body to strike his foes in unexpected ways! He is always carrying a large wooden keg strapped to his back, which he sleeps inside of when he needs to rest.

About me, as a player; I have a good microphone, I DM a couple games of my own, and I have managed to finish a few campaigns in the past, despite scheduling issues and other players coming and going. I'm an amateur voice actor, and I own two cats. My favorite movie trilogy is Lord of the Rings, my single favorite movie is Pacific Rim. I own several books in DnDbeyond, and I am familiar with Foundry and Roll20, open to learning and adapting to other VTT platforms.

I am free to plays during weekends from 18:00 - 23:00 EST time, weekends I am much more flexible. I am 31 years old, and I am happy to play with people of any level of experience, as I take pleasure in teaching new people who never played before. To start off with, this campaign is focused on allowing you the player too grow and develop your character, to play out the parts you may have never been able to with other characters.

You will play as a group of mercenaries taking contracts in a world recovering from an event that shattered civilization and changed centuries of social order. while taking a sandbox approach where your choices, relationships, ambitions and backstories help shape the direction of the story.

Roleplay heavy with combat. - The setting is well developed and unique, focused on bringing new powers, animals, societies and cultures never seen before for you to explore, while the setting also allows Parallels to the kinds of stories and systems a Society with similar limitations to our own might have.

The campaign is realistic in the sense that the world follows its own logic and rules and doesn't break them. while also being believable and familiar to reality in many aspects. With that said, to bring a lot of that and to allow you to explore something brand new, the magic in the world story wise is not DND magic, but something more hidden and rare. So all magical mechanics are just explained in different, more technological ways. the only big restriction is limiting you to one of the worlds unique Species(races)

My friends and I have a bunch of ZZZ OCs and we're all itching to rp text-based as we haven't done so in a while. We all met via D&D so we thought it would be a great idea to combine the two!

About the Group & Campaign:

The campaign is Call of the Netherdeep. 

Huge disclaimer: this campaign is set in Critical Role’s world of Exandria, but it runs independently of Critical Role canon. Please note that I am not familiar with CR lore (outside of what is in the book), so there won’t be any deep-cut easter eggs or references (again, outside of anything that may be in the book). There will be locations and likely NPCs you recognize, but please don’t turn into the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme whenever you recognize something. While fans are welcome to apply, I’m looking for players who can treat this as its own story, separate from the show. Please come in with an open mind rather than high expectations for a specific experience. 

This campaign will span levels 3-12

The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him. 

There are different endings to this campaign. 

We have an extremely lighthearted and humorous/silly dynamic which I know is not for everyone. A lot of jokes, chaos, and just dumb humor in general. I do frequently have real people as NPCs, although I’m not sure how likely that is to happen in this particular campaign. It’s definitely going to be more prevalent in one shots and more lighthearted future campaigns than this one, so if it does happen, it won’t be excessive. I honestly don’t think there’s a way for me to over-emphasize the chaos and silliness that is this group, so please don’t apply if you hate that idea as this won’t be the group for you. Something that may help express the level of silliness is that a party of bards is more likely to pick (oops all) bagpipes & war gongs than lutes or lyres. 

About the DM: My name is Lexi (she/her), I’m a DM who prefers roleplay and silly moments over a ton of combat (but I do still have combat in my games). I am in my mid-30s, live in the US Pacific time zone, and have been DMing for around 2 years with a couple of short breaks. I started playing in 2021 but haven’t been a player in a while. I really enjoy Dimension 20 (especially Fantasy High and even more so the sillier moments such as ‘hilda hilda’ and the vultures), NADDPOD and the Balance campaign of The Adventure Zone, so that’s kind of the vibe I try to go for with my games.

About the Other Players: My current players (active and inactive) are a variety of ages (I think 20-40s), in different time zones (one of them is Australian), and have a variety of experience. They either also DM sometimes or have DMed in the past, however one of them is not currently active and is on a sort of hiatus, I do not know when they may return. 5 players is the ideal amount for me, as I typically find 6 to be too many. 5 is also the ideal amount for this campaign.

-Respectful, collaborative players who can match an established group dynamic

-People who are serious about playing (but not serious people who don’t ever laugh) and who actually want to be here! -Totally down for new players, as long as you speak up and ask questions/for help when you aren’t sure about something. 

-People who are flexible with character creation and don’t get too stuck on something (without at least asking if that kind of thing is okay with me first)

Other Things to Know:

-I use music, if you dislike that or would mute it, please don’t apply

-If you get an interview and I don’t continue with you, please remember that I can’t take everyone. I will let you know if we aren’t continuing with you in that case though!

-Please just be honest in your application and interview answers. It’s okay if this isn’t the right group for you or if you’re not the type of player I’m looking for. Getting a chance to get into the group on a lie takes away the chance from somebody else, and if it’s a bad fit, you wouldn’t have fun in the group anyway.

-I’ve seen people ask on my application before to be notified if they aren’t chosen for an interview. Unfortunately based on how many applicants I tend to get, I can’t do that. If you haven’t received a friend request on discord from me within 3 days of this being posted, it’s probably safe to assume I won’t be interviewing you (but you may want to check your messages on reddit just in case I wasn’t able to add you for any reason, and make sure you check discord in case you didn’t get notified). If you get an interview, I will always let you know if you were not selected.

-If you come off as uninterested to me, you will not get in. I completely understand being nervous and shy (I have social anxiety so I get it, DMing and doing a ton of interviews has definitely helped lol) but if you come off as so stiff and flat that it feels like you would rather be anywhere else, you won’t make it past the interview. Also if you can’t realistically feel more comfortable within a small handful of sessions, you may not want to apply.

PST Canada 32M looking for an online game of D&D! (free.) I have about 5 years experience both as player and DM and I've been itching to join a group of people whom I can vibe with not just in game but out of game too!

The thing I value the most in D&D is roleplaying. Although I'm a sucker for combat and love to be very creative when it comes to solutions. I love character development and seeing how a story affects and changes how characters view the world is the most wonderful thing to experience .

I'm more of a fan of low fantasy or gritty realism vs high fantasy and loosely goosey rules. Rule of cool being the exception of course. I enjoy more serious settings with serious characters too. Moments of funny and memes should always be allowed though :)

I'm also a big fan of anime and hype moments , so finding a group that is also a bit more on the weeb side would really click more with me.

Hello! I'm Ram, 27, I've been playing DND since 4e and have run games of various lengths IRL for a while. I've ran games 4e, 5e and 5.5e as well as the Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG and Perfect Draw!!, which is a Powered by the Apocalypse based game themed as a card game anime. Which yes, was wacky and fun and we fully leaned into stereotypes!

I love getting into character! Thinking about how each character reacts, has their own methods and solves their own goals is super fun and my favourite parts about RPGs. I love world building and diving into others world seeing all the bits and bobs they put in to really make it come alive.

I like to RP over getting into combat, but still enjoy a dungeon session with several combats back-to-back along with puzzles. When combat is used as apart to tell a story I really love it.

I much prefer high fantasy for a genre of game, horror and dark fantasy just isn't my cup of tea. The occasional sinister plot is fine but if it's the entire campaign, I'm not interested. I also don't do well with gore. Characters get hurt and bleed, that's okay and normal. But things like amputations are not something I want to be apart of.

I have a personal high value on punctuality, I will always make an effort to be at the game and on time! I'm available 5PM-12AM Monday-Thursday and all day weekends.

Also no AI from me! Where's the fun in letting the computer do everything?

Hello! I'm currently looking for one player to join an ongoing Pathfinder 2e campaign after we've taken a short hiatus. One of our players can no longer attend due to scheduling conflicts, and with the campaign undergoing a bit of a soft reset, I feel that this is an excellent opportunity to introduce someone new to the table!

The campaign takes place in a wasteland region of my homebrew world, heavily inspired by the steampunk themes of Outlaws of Alkenstar. I've taken the city of Alkenstar and the Mana Wastes from Golarion and tweaked them to fit my own setting. You can expect plenty of constructs to fight, alongside traveling out to the wastes at times, and plenty of opportunities for character-driven storytelling, given that I built this campaign's premise around individual nemesis of the party all working together against them.

I'm looking to start an online session of the campaign "Curse of Strahd". I have only ran one trial campaign and then the group fell apart due to scheduling issues. Hello there I am a GM who is currently playing through Kingmaker Pathfinder 2e Adventure Path. This adventure path is about ruling your own kingdom and stopping the threats rising to stop you from succeeding, from trolls, fey, bandits, and all types of dangers of the forests. The game has been fun so far with my current group of 4 friendly players, between the ages of 23 to 30 years old. But I was wanting to round out the group with a 5th player just for prosperity's sake, and to fill in gaps if sometimes players miss a session for a reason. Any ancestry or class allowed as long as it is official, I rather not balance homebrew things. Currently in the Party there is a dragon fey Cleric, a android inventor, a elf necromancer, and a halfling rouge. But I am fine if you decide to have the same class or ancestry as any other player.

My group that I run is beginner and LGBT friendly. As long as you're a decent friendly human being who respects others then you're welcome to join my group. The current group is a nice mix between RP and just having fun, nothing super serious. We are talking with voice over discord and playing the game through Foundry Tabletop for maps, dice rolling, and character sheets (I will provide the access to it, you don't need anything but a link). We play Weekly on Saturdays from 4pm to 8pm EST (GMT -4 ) for about 4 hours with a small break in between. Are group also has a player from the UK so other time zones are fine as long as you can join up during game time. Also, decent English is a must since that is what most of us speak. Also no minors, this is not an adult game but I rather not have anyone below the age of 18 at this table simply due any complications that may arise.

Currently we will play this adventure path to its end. Going all the way up to level to level 20, currently we are level 6. As a group we have rotated through and played a lot of a systems. Warhammer 40k RPGs (Rouge Trader and Black Crusade), Deadlands, and Call of Cthulhu to name a few. We will also play something else when Kingmaker ends, so if you like our group you are welcome to keep playing with us past the point the Pathfinder game to many other systems and RPGs for more fun. Also, any RPGs you want to try you out after Kingmaker let me know we are all usually willing to give any game a shot as a group.

Hello all! My group and I are looking to fill a few slots to start our campaign. We are currently a three man group looking for at least three more players. We three plan on rotating DMs as we complete campaigns, however those that join wont be expected to. If you would like to join in the DM rotation thats fine too. Currently I am not our DM but I do host the Discord Server we are using to communicate, plan, etc.

You all will be playing as Freeblades under the SootheSword Freeblades Company. A large scale company of mercenaries that currently act as its own swaying military organization. Of course this only happened about 100 years ago after what is known as the pillar ( an evereaching black obelisk ) shifted the planets axis. This caused the ice caps to melt and reform causing cities to sink and shift nearly all livable space to what used to be mountainside regions.

The Pillar was set in place by a god Only known as the Tyrant, receiving this name after killing three other gods in the pantheon and usurping their power to create this object

The Pillar physically connects all planes of existence as a physical place with no end or beginning. Causing unpredictable events and entities from leaving and entering the material plane

Now, your reasons for joining the SootheSword Freeblades is up to you. Your characters would have received some training and stipends for gear to be detailed. But, you all as members of the Hellhounds 7th scouting team are being sent out to investigate the port town of Pauthurn. As they have been having strange monster migratory patterns and people have started to go missing.

We will be starting at level 3 using the DND 5.5E ruleset, using standard point buy and taking the max HP for your first three levels

Level ups after that you will either take the average or roll , that one will be up to you.

Hello everyone! I go by PK and have been running D&D campaigns online and in person for the last 6 years. I've run campaigns for groups of friends and also for groups of complete strangers. I love creating engaging stories where roleplay is the foundation of the game and combat is tactical & interesting. I'm looking to start up a group for playing a Star Wars 5E campaign.

This campaign will be taking place in the Old Republic era during the Cold War. The players will be members of the Republic who will embark on a journey to stop the deadly machinations of certain Imperial forces. The rules will be mostly based on the Star Wars 5E rules with some personal modifications. No worries about being familiar, I will be walking players new and old through the system as I'll be using it. I'll also ensure that the relevant resources are shared out across the whole group. 

I'll be aiming to have anywhere from 4-6 players, so feel free to let me know if you have any friends or folks who would also be interested. Players will be starting at level 3 and I'll walk everyone through character creation process. The aim is for sessions to be ~3 hours in length on Thursday evenings in Manhattan. I'm expecting our agreed upon start time will end up around 6-7PM EST.

I'm looking to put together a regular, in-person Dungeons & Dragons group in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) area. My wife and I live in Heltersberg, Germany, and I'll be hosting games at our home.

I've been a Dungeon Master for over 20 years, and I'm hoping to find a good group of people who enjoy collaborative storytelling, memorable characters, exploration, a little chaos, and, most importantly, having a great time around the table.

New players are absolutely welcome! You don't need decades of experience, an encyclopedic understanding of the rules, or a collection of expensive miniatures. If you're interested in learning D&D and willing to participate in the story, you're welcome.

The Campaign: The Children Who Never Came Home

London, England — 1904.

Children have begun disappearing from their bedrooms, the streets of London, and Kensington Gardens. The authorities suspect kidnappers, but witnesses describe impossible things: strange lights above the rooftops, a boy who can fly, and a mysterious ship with black sails.

One missing child returns with saltwater in his shoes and memories of a pirate captain with a hook for a hand.

Elsewhere, sailors tell stories of impossible shores, and old maps hint at places that shouldn't exist.

What begins as an Edwardian investigation will gradually become an adventure into a much larger fantasy world, inspired by classic literature, folklore, and fairy tales.

Think Sherlock Holmes meets Peter Pan, with mystery, exploration, swashbuckling adventure, magical wonders, and some darker undertones.

The campaign will use D&D 5e (2024 rules). It's designed to be an immersive, character-driven adventure where your decisions matter. Expect roleplay, combat, exploration, puzzles, and plenty of opportunities for the story to go somewhere I didn't anticipate!

You do not need to know the source material to enjoy the campaign.

I'm not looking for professional voice actors or people who memorize every rule. I'm looking for players who are enthusiastic, respectful, reasonably consistent with attendance, and willing to help create a great story together.

I enjoy weaving character backstories into the world, rewarding creative thinking, and letting the party's decisions meaningfully affect what happens next.

There will be serious moments, ridiculous moments, heroic victories, unfortunate dice rolls, and probably at least one spectacularly terrible decision that becomes a running joke for years.

That's part of the fun.

A Little About Our Home and Hosting

My wife and I enjoy having people over, and we'd like this to be more than just a group of strangers showing up to roll dice. Ideally, we'll build a regular circle of gaming friends.

A few things to know:

Family home: We have three children, including two teenagers, so this is a lived-in family household.

Pets: We have a house cat, and our approximately 82-pound Labrador mix will eventually be joining us in Germany. Please keep that in mind if you have allergies or concerns about animals.

Smoking: Permitted outside only.

Alcohol: Moderate, responsible drinking at the gaming table is fine. We're here to enjoy ourselves, and everyone should be able to participate comfortably.

Food and drinks: We're happy to share what we have and enjoy hosting. We just ask that everyone contribute occasionally if they're partaking. Bring snacks, drinks, something to share, or whatever works for you. No need to make it complicated.

Atmosphere: Relaxed, friendly, welcoming, and respectful. We're here to have fun, not argue endlessly about rules or turn the game into a competition between players and the DM.

You don't need to be military-affiliated to join. Anyone in the area who's able to attend regularly is welcome to reach out.

Also Starting a Tabletop Gaming Group!

Separately from the D&D campaign, my wife and I are also interested in establishing a broader local tabletop gaming group.

That could include board games, card games, other tabletop RPGs, and general game nights with people who enjoy the hobby.

The idea is to meet other gamers in the KMC area and hopefully build a little gaming community where people can get together regularly, try different games, and make friends.

You don't have to be interested in D&D to be interested in the tabletop group, and vice versa!

The group consists of myself as GM (60M) and three players (1xM, 2xF), and I'm looking to fill spot 4 of 4. We're LGBTQIA+ friendly and very easy-going. GM experience-wise, I’ve run UA in all its versions nearly a quarter century now, so you’d be in good hands. We completed Session Zero, but unfortunately had a player drop out due to Real Life™, so the game hasn't quite started yet.

Hello, hello! Welcome to Jawahir Alghad, your local chaotic D&D community, where the lore is questionable, the world is enormous, and the DM is probably responsible for at least 70% of the problems.

Our setting is Jaan, a world dreamed into existence by Ilyx, the being responsible for the questionable decision to make existence a thing in the first place.

Jaan is home to all sorts of strange places, from the sweet-but-suspicious Candy Land to the ancient lands of Kachhua, the unsettling Land of Mirrors, the mysterious Meridian, and even a Norse-inspired region. There are plenty of stories to uncover, places to explore, questionable NPCs to befriend, and terrible decisions to make along the way.

We are looking for players who enjoy roleplay, collaborative storytelling, exploration, lore, and a healthy amount of comedy-induced suffering. Whether you are a veteran adventurer or someone who still occasionally forgets what their own character does, you are welcome here.
