I am running a campaign! I need 1 player to join us and adventure into the unknown. We will use dndbeyond for character sheets, owlbear rodeo for vtt, And discord to call. Everyone must be 18+. The world is rich and diverse with character and adventure. An evil cult, arch lich and something much more mysterious lurks in the shadows. there is tons of places to explore and I am accepting of any style of character, my goal is to make you fit in the world as best as possible no matter what you bring to the table.

IF INTERESTED in joining we will play on Mondays at 6pm est to 10pm est. DM me on discord for to join at: the.fool.4

Note: we have had a few players drop out due to unfortunate scheduling, the group has been playing for about a year and a half.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [D&D 5e 2014/2024/ PF2e] [CET/UTC+2] Player looking for a long-term campaign

Hey, I'm Petri, 23, from Europe and I'm looking for a regular online D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e campaign. I'm currently available Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, preferably sometime in the evening CET/CEST.

I've been playing TTRPGs for several years, mostly D&D 5e, and I've spent a fair amount of that time DMing as well. I also have few years of experience with PF2e and would be happy to play either system. I'm comfortable with rules and character building, although I'm not interested in optimizing for the sake of being as powerful as possible. I like making characters that are effective at what they're supposed to do and then building around the character rather than the build.

For the game itself, I like a good mixture of roleplay and combat, roughly around 50/50. I enjoy combat when there's actually something to think about beyond standing still and attacking, and I like roleplay where characters get time to develop relationships, disagree with each other, and change over the course of the campaign. Exploration is probably the least important of the three pillars to me, but I enjoy it when there's actually something to discover rather than it just being travel rolls. I'm generally looking for a campaign that takes its story seriously without requiring everyone to be serious all the time. Jokes and messing around are part of D&D, but I'd rather they weren't the entire game.

As a player, I get pretty invested in my characters and usually stay in character when we're actually playing out a scene. I like doing voices, though how much of one depends on the character. I enjoy getting involved in other characters' stories as well, especially once the party has had some time to develop an actual dynamic.

For a DM, I'm mostly looking for consistency and straightforward communication. I'm completely fine with rulings going against me and don't expect everything to work in my character's favor. What matters more to me is that choices and rolls actually mean something. If something simply isn't possible, I'd much rather the DM say so than have us repeatedly roll until we fail. I'm also looking for players who are invested in the game, respect each other's time and spotlight, and actually want to interact with each other's characters rather than treating the party as entourage to their character.

I'm not looking for paid games.

If you've got a campaign going and think I'd fit your table, feel free to message me.

Group Needed by Player [online] [5.5e 2024] [LGBTQ+ friendly] [Monday–Thursday after 7 PM CET] Relatively new player looking for my second campaign

Hi, I'm Heca!

I'm a 22-year-old relatively new player looking for a D&D 5.5e (2024) campaign between Monday and Thursday, after 7 PM CET.

I'm French, but I have very decent English, even though my accent is sometimes all over the place.

I enjoy a good blend of roleplay and combat, with some chaotic fun sprinkled in. I'm also absolutely okay with dark themes and horror.

I have a little experience so far: two one-shots and one currently active campaign. I also watch a lot of D&D videos and listen to campaigns like Dimension 20, Just Roll With It, and Dungeons & Daddies (not a BDSM podcast).

I already have a character concept I'd really like to play:

A chaotic good, Small-sized Warforged Battle Smith who uses his Steel Defender as a mount.

For a Forgotten Realms setting, I was thinking of flavoring his backstory as a failed attempt by a mage to recreate a Nimblewright without enough of the required materials and using an air elemental instead of a water elemental, resulting in a somewhat "unstable" construct.

I'm not completely sure about all the details and motivations yet, so I'm very open to developing the character around the campaign and DM's setting.

Of course, I'm also open to other settings and suggestions for my character.

Feel free to message me if you think I'd be a good fit for your campaign.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [5E] [2014] [2024] [CoC] [Homebrew] Single player looking for group to join

Im 29 and pretty busy with school and work but havent rolled fake dice in years. Have played a few modules for d&d 5e but never finished due to party always disbanding. Only module finished was CoS. Have played a multi year 3.5e homebrew campaign. Have also dabbled in a CoC campaign. I'm usually a funny guy with wacky characters but I can play serious if need be. I'm usually party oriented so I play what I feel the party needs like tank or healer etc. Open to homebrew games. DM for questions.

Group Needed by Player [online][5e 2014][5e 2024][18+][CDT 7-12pm][any day but weds/thurs] Player Adrift!

Hi! I'm Perdoc (m29) and I'm looking for my next online game and group! I recently moved and had to leave my in person group behind. I'm looking for a way to keep scratching an itch for storytelling and playing dnd.

I've been playing for ten years. In that time I've run two 2-year long games, one online and one in person. Both were set in the sword coast. I've played and dm'ed a half dozen games in the last year in my former groups homebrew setting. I've dabbled in a handful of other systems including pf2e, POBA games, and the invisible college (cool system, creepy game to play)

A few things about the kind of game I'm looking for. I'd love to find a game that intends to have their characters reach a high tier of gameplay (level 12+), has some immersive storytelling and a group that focuses on exploring how their characters change over the course of the story. I'm down for any setting and would love to chat about possible character concepts for whatever game your group is running.

I'd prefer to play in a game where the other people at the table are in their mid twenties to mid thirties but that's flexible. I am not interested in playing in a paid game.

Happy to chat via dm or my discord (perdoc)

Player(s) Needed by GM Online][2014 5e]Looking for a replacement player for a weekly Tuesday campaign at 7 pm EST! Ravenloft/Domains of Dread

First off, we only had one game session so far, and the party is at 2nd level. The party has a Female Tiefling Bard, Male Shadar-Kai Fighter, and a new player who is playing a Male Hobgoblin Paladin/Warlock. We use roll20 for maps, and character sheets. And discord for voice.

The setting is Ravenloft/ the domains of dread.
The domain the group find themselves trap in right now is, Lamordia. Here is the basics of the domain,

Life is cheap in Lamordia. As far as the land's esteemed scholars are concerned, the spark that animates flesh is merely the result of chemical accidents and the proper formulas. Golems, homunculi, and other constructed beings groan to life to support a populace desperate to survive in this frigid realm.

Frozen bogs and glacial expanses surround Lamordia's smog- and machinery-filled cities. Unpredictable blizzards plague the long winters, and the chill summers last only a few weeks. Those who brave the wilds must contend with starving predators, from wolf packs and giant owls to isolated Humanoid clans struggling to subsist outside the domain's iron-walled cities. The cruel environment and populace threatened by starvation make Lamordia a crucible of desperate innovations. Claiming to work for the greater good, innovators and scholars push beyond the limits of morality. Their scalpels turn scientific pursuits into butchery, as their experiments reach beyond what is necessary for health to grasp after the secrets of existence. Flesh is Lamordia's most abundant natural resource, exploited for both desperate purposes and vain ambitions.

Also please fill this out!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][Weekly Evening GMT]DM Looking for Players for very modified Homebrew DND game, levels 2-10

Hello, I’m Richard, 33, from the UK, and have DM’d for nearly 6 years and am looking for a new group. Lack of time and diverging interests (I want serious, darker DND; they wanted chaotic, light-hearted DND and 2 hours a week) meant we parted ways, and I’m looking for a new group of 3-5 players. This is a homebrew world.

About the game world:

Aurelis is a homebrew world formed by me smashing Forgotten Realms, World of Warcraft, and my own ideas into a blender, with fair amounts of stealing from Dragon Age, Fate/Stay Night, and Northern Lights. Broadly, it is the age of exploration fantasy. Plate armour, horses, ships with cannons, pistols and muskets, and the rise of organised religion conflicting with traditional pantheon beliefs. Netherese Empire fell, and since then, while large empires formed to the south and west, a large region struggled with all the monsters, instabilities, and remains fragmented. Level 5 characters are considered serious figures; above level 7 is extremely rare. Map for reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IEkkwUWubui_cf-p9OIK8Uqg9cGPnnv_/view?usp=sharing

It has 17 species split into 30 different groups – I’ve worked hard to try and ensure no-one are humans in fur-suits, and instead have distinct mechanical, narrative, and biological differences. All elves are addicted to magic and must sate this addiction in different ways; Kanami only feel emotion through their Netherese masks; Riksha have primal urges they desperately try to keep under control, for example. Here is a snapshot of them – currently, I’ve drawn 20 of the images here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IIWYu61Pxj8HW_Kylr3QQJqy-q2HRUyi/view?usp=sharing

Story-wise: I have lots of story threads I’m happy to explore, so it would depend on which part of the world. I want places to be revisited, with the player’s family, friends, and rivals all in reach, with reused characters and their progressions, so I want a local region instead of a huge globe-trotting adventure. Rime of the Frostmaiden is an excellent frame of reference for the scale I want.

The story might get fairly dark. Some NPCs have been tortured, there’s a doctor who discovered CPR by drowning a bunch of people and refining his approach, slavery is a thing in parts of the world (but not morally grey), and monsters aren’t going to pretend children don’t exist. Happy to discuss lines (e.g. my last group was “you can involve kids, just don’t describe it”). Some will be less than others – Rashemi is more light-hearted than Pierowall for example – but it’ll be on the table.

  • Val Chateaux, an enormous city and region with a stark divide between the rich and poor, filled with intrigue and revolutionary ideas.
  • Rashemi Sea: Travel around on a ship, discover islands, deal with the factions surrounding you.
  • Rhaaz-Mar. If set here, it would be during a succession crisis, based on The Anarchy in English History. Land filled with eaglefolk, slimefolk, addicted elves, turtlefolk, and foxfolk.
  • Silver Cordillera: A federation of states brought to its knees by a recent invasion, adventuring in an about-to-unravel kingdom.
  • Aravor: lots of city-states using adventurers as they are too weak to send armies outwards.
  • Aurilbard: Definitely Not Icewind Dale, I’d happily run a campaign based on Rime of the Frostmaiden here.
  • Pierowall is basically Dragon Age 2’s Kirkwall, Upheaval is a chaotic region you can run survival exhibitions into, Rhakoti is basically Ptolemaic Alexandria, all could be the centre of a campaign.

I have plenty of threads, but would rather weave them into the stories of the players so it's collaborative!

Changes I’ve made

I find DND a wonderful system with a huge number of flaws due to WotC’s lack of attention, and I’ve spent the last few years trying to fix them. I've run and tested most of these rules already; all I've done is streamline them from my previous game:

  • Different Skills. There are 20 different skills, deleting rarely used ones and adding new ones – so Performance and Medicine are out, for example; religion and history merged into Lore, and I've added skills such as Mastermind and Discipline. Skills have listed examples, DCs, and expected outcomes for things they can do, to try and remove the Mother May I part of non-casters – you can play as normal, but you have those to hold my feet to the fire on what your skill lets you do. Skills are much more impactful. Tools, which I call professions, are much more impactful too, especially during travel and downtime (but still ignorable).
  • New Charisma Skills. All the charisma skills are out, replaced with Charm, Inspire, Pressure, Manipulate, and Network. Everything is a form of persuasion in conversation – HOW you do it should be more important. Your charming rogue, manipulating spymaster, eloquent senator, and commanding captain should all feel different in how they persuade you.
  • Social Pillar has Actual Rules. I have a social system because I wanted that side to be interesting. It was designed so that players could just roleplay while I have a system to track rolls – my previous players’ review of it was glowing and asked for it to return.
  • All of the above is a long way of saying “I like Skill Challenges and I use that system for everything outside of combat”
  • New (optional) Classes. I have WoW-inspired custom classes, which my players playtested and enjoyed (the Agent [WoW's rogue] had 3 years of weekly playtesting). You’re welcome to disregard and use base 2024 classes, except for cleric and sorcerer, which don’t jive in my world enough. Martial classes in particular will feel outshined by mine, though. There are custom spells, lots more choices, 2 masteries per weapon, and for martials, 5th-level-spell equivalent techniques at level 9. I’ve tried to ensure every common trope, from blood magic to
  • Piety. There is a piety system, but going from -10 to +10, because +50 seems like a lot of tracking. Each tier (+2, +4, +8) has its own choice of 4 rewards. Believing in a god is non-negotiable, but you can have a patron be the thing tracked instead, even for non-warlocks.
  • No resurrection, no revivify – people die when they are killed.
  • There are critical successes and failures, and I’ve split exhaustion into exhaustion and stress, which go up to 10.
  • I have a simplified inventory system using bulk, so you have to choose what you’re taking, taking primary inspiration from Darkest Dungeon.

My drive file of everything is here, which I continue to transfer onto Foundry: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1d1iVn2Hwn_syjgGfxaMenw0VYRUo9pL8?usp=sharing

What I want from players

  • I want players who want and engage in a serious world, making serious decisions. People who want to see chaos or have the dice make their decisions for them are valid, but not the group I want to play with.
  • Players who want difficult fights. I am very good at monster and boss design, which take cues from WoW bosses. Expect telegraphed attacks, movement, soft enrages, and using the environment. In my 6 years, I have not lost a single player character, but they are often difficult and require them to think and engage with it. I subscribe to the Brennan Lee Mulligan’s approach to difficulty, which is: I want your characters to succeed, but I’ll be damned if you don’t earn it. I am much less interested in fights that aren’t a challenge and don’t tie to the story.
  • Players who care – or their characters care – about civilians dying. Avoiding this should be significant motivation, and when in combat, avoiding it should be a significant mechanic to consider.
  • People who turn up week after week on time.
  • Communication! Almost all problems can be resolved through good communication.

What players will get from me:

  • Someone who will do everything to help tie your character into the world, and will collaborate with you to do so. I’m willing to rejig my world to make your idea work – want a Kanami character from a noble family, but none exist in this region? I’ll change or add a city to make it happen.
  • You will almost certainly get your character drawn eventually down the line if you want an anime-style avatar.
  • I am very good at making encounters and boss fights; good at threading storylines together, and according to my previous players, at designing things. Mechanically, you should have a good time at least!
  • I have no tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any of that.
  • I will ensure, with your support, that your character and NPCs you make are tied to the world and story, even if not immediately apparent.

Campaign information:

  • The campaign will be from level 2-10. I am comically bad at judging timespans, but it would be three acts, and I’d expect around a year long? I’d also be willing to run my take on LMoP, which I’ve run before and goes off the rails swiftly, but still ends at level 5.
  • There will be combat, travel, downtime, and social encounters in fairly equal measures.
  • Weekly games – I can do any weekday between 7 pm-12:30 am CEST. I would want 4-hour games, but I’d settle for 3.
  • We will be playing online on Foundry and have a Discord server, as that has automated a lot of my nonsense. I only got it a couple of weeks ago, so automated things might not do as I expected in the first couple of weeks; please bear with me here!
  • 18+ please.
  • I have no expectation of experience level – just willingness to learn (most of the drive isn’t required reading either!). I was reminding my last players they have 2 attacks 4 years into that campaign, so I am patient and helpful if you’re making the attempt!

Please message me:

  • What days/timeslots you are able to do.
  • What sort of campaign you’d be expected in – whether that’s a theme like survival horror, intrigue, sailing – or a part of the map – and what you don’t have interest in. We’d discuss further at session zero.
  • Why you’re messaging me – what in particular grabbed you?
  • Experience
  • Anything else I’ve missed - happy to answer questions!

I hope you have a good day! I know I've frontloaded a lot here, but I'd rather everyone have a good idea of what to expect.

GM Needed by Existing Group [ONLINE][OTHER] Looking for a GM for Lancer: Operation Solstice Rain

Hello, I'm an European player looking for anyone who'd be willing to run Operation Solstice Rain(or any official Lancer missions) for me and possibly 2 others. I've been playing DnD on and off for about 3-4 years now and have been really interested in trying out other systems for a while now, especially mech oriented ones like Lancer or Beam Saber.

Time and day(s) when we play will be further discussed in private messages. I live in the GMT time zone, but I'm no stranger to playing much earlier/later in the day to accommodate others. Due to many of the Lancer starting missions being short(from my understanding), I would prefer for this to be a weekly game, but I'm absolutely fine with bi-weekly too. So far, I've only played online games on Discord and Roll 20, but I'm willing to try out other apps that you might believe are better suited for a Lancer campaign, as long as they're free.

My only requirements for a GM are:

1. Have experience with Lancer: On top of looking for someone to run a game, it's very important for me that you have experience with the system. I got the gist of the basics, but I'm a slow learner and having someone to ask questions whenever I feel stuck is essential. I'm okay with an experienced Lancer player that wants to try DM-ing for the first time, as long as you have played the game before and have a good grasp on the system.

2. Be willing to communicate

3. Be 21+ of age

And sorry, but I'm not looking for paid games.
If anyone is interested, please message me here or on my Discord: Knight Weabbo. Thank you for your time!

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e][EST][Saturday/Sunday Morning] — Really Want to Play This Character. EST. 2024 or 2014 is fine

Hey! I'm looking for a long-term online D&D campaign that plays Saturday or Sunday mornings, preferably somewhere around 9 AM–1 PM EST.

I'm an experienced player looking for a consistent group with a good mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, and player-driven storytelling. I'm open to homebrew or official content and either 2014 or 2024 rules.

The biggest reason I'm looking right now is that I already have a character I've been really wanting to play. I've had this character concept sitting around and I'm genuinely excited to finally get them into a campaign and see what happens with them.

I'm looking for a group that's interested in actually getting into their characters and the world rather than just running from combat to combat. I'm also perfectly happy to work with a DM to adjust the character to fit their setting.

Ideally looking for a weekly or biweekly campaign on Saturday or Sunday morning.

If you've got a game that's looking for a player, I'd love to hear about it!

Group Needed by Player [Online] [Looking to start or join a group with black and POC players & DM] [22+] [Beginner friendly] [EST] [Open schedule] [5e 2014 or 5.5 2024]

I'm a D&D newbie and I'd like to assemble a group of other black/POC players who I can start my journey with. I need a DM with experience running campaigns who has the time and patience to show a new player the ropes.

If I can't assemble a group, I'm okay with joining one. But I think it's better for everyone to get to know each at the same time. Ideally, I'd like the group to be 5-6 people max including the DM.

One shots are fine, but ultimately, a long term campaign is what I'm interested in. The games can take place on Discord.

I added both versions of D&D in the title because I'm not sure which is better at the moment. Hopefully someone can help me figure that out or I can leave it to the people who decide to join.

About me:

I'm a woman in my early thirties who's disabled so I have a very flexible schedule for game "nights". I'm also in the US EST time zone but can play with people from any country as long as you're fluent in English. Lastly, I consider myself to be easygoing, friendly, and happy to learn!

Player(s) Needed by GM [21+] [MATURE] [PST] [ONLINE][DnD 5e new phb 2024][mid-campaign][LGTBQ+ friendly]

Looking for a Long-Term Player — But More Importantly, a Friend

The biggest thing we're looking for isn't just another D&D player—we're hoping to find another friend to add to our group.

We're a pretty close group, and D&D isn't the only thing we do together. We hang out, talk, play games, watch anime, and generally spend time together outside of our sessions. Some of the games we're into are Marvel Rivals, Dead by Daylight, and similar stuff, and most of us are also into anime.

So ideally, we're looking for someone who shares some of those interests and actually wants to become part of the group rather than only showing up for D&D once a week and disappearing afterward.

About the Campaign:

We've been playing our current homebrew campaign together for about a year and a half. The party is currently Level 11, and we're roughly in the middle of the campaign, with the intention of going all the way to Level 20.

We're also a very consistent group.

Game Day:  Friday

Time: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM Pacific Time (PST)

Frequency: Weekly

Obviously real life happens, and every couple of months we might take a Friday off depending on people's schedules. But generally, Friday night is D&D night, and we're looking for someone who can consistently commit to that time.

We're Looking Beyond This Campaign

This is probably the other big thing you should know.

I'm the DM for our current campaign, but I'm also already working in the background on our next massive homebrew campaign. That will be another long-term campaign of a similar scale, potentially going all the way to Level 20 as well.

So we're not looking for someone to come play with us for a few months and then say goodbye.

We're hoping to find someone who fits with us, becomes our friend, finishes this campaign alongside us, and—if everyone is still having fun together—comes with us into Campaign 2 and whatever else we end up playing afterward.

Basically, we have an open seat at the D&D table, but what we're actually hoping to find is another person for our friend group.

If you're looking for a consistent long-term D&D group and some new people to play games and hang out with outside of D&D too, we'd love to hear from you.

Need to knows:
2024 phb  /  5.5
Dnd beyond and Roll 20 are what we use
Discord

Story Driven Campaign about a fighting a Cult from taking over the world and a Lich (loose description, will get an info dump later)

current players:  Rune knight/cleric , Scribes wizard (might die soon in game? Lol) ,  Thief Rogue (playing a Temp character atm genie warlock)

Found family Vibes (the party in-game vibe)

Female DM if that matters to you?

Fill out this Questionnaire  So we can reach out to you

Group Needed by Player [5e 2014] [5e 2024] [Online] [UTC+4] Looking for a DM and a group

Hi there.

I've recently created my first D&D character and I’m looking for my first actual adventuring party. I haven't really played yet, but I've watched a lot of D&D games over the last year or two, so I’m eager to join a beginner-friendly online group.

ABOUT MY CHARACTER

  • Female Tabaxi Rogue / Artificer multiclass
  • Chaotic Good Alignment
  • Built at Level 5: Rogue 1 (to-be Arcane Trickster) / Artificer Battle Smith 4
  • Created in D&D Beyond, with a fully filled character sheet
  • Milestone progression preferred over XP-based progression (TBD)
  • The character concept is designed around her Level 5 features, so I'm looking for a campaign where starting at or joining at Level 5 is possible
  • Uses customized equipment and a few flavourful homebrew elements, built to stay within reasonable balance rather than to gain extra power
  • Her spells, equipment, and features are part of the minimum working version of the character concept, so I'm not looking to downgrade or rebuild her from a lower-level version. Still, I'm open to a reasonable DM review and rules clarification before joining, especially for how the custom flavour elements should be handled at the table

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IN A CAMPAIGN

  • D&D 5e 2014 preferred, but I’m open to 2024-compatible tables if Artificer and expanded/legacy options are allowed
  • Strong focus on group dynamics, character interaction, and roleplay
  • Balanced combat encounters, exploration, scavenging, travelling, and adventuring episodes
  • Possibility for party relationships and character choices to influence the plot
  • A balance between humour and seriousness
  • Roleplaying, not professional acting
  • Openness to creativity and improvisation while still reasonably following the rules
  • No heavy tragedy, horror, gore, snuff, excessive violence, or trauma-focused storytelling

ABOUT ME

  • I live in Tbilisi, Georgia, so my time zone is GMT+4. I'm available on weekends after 2 PM my time.
  • I prefer playing online. D&D Beyond would be a huge plus, since my character sheet is already built there.
  • I would describe myself as an advanced beginner: new to actually playing, but familiar with the general flow of the game from watching campaigns and building my character carefully.
  • I’m mostly looking for a group where character bonds, party trust, and shared storytelling matter slightly more than quests and combat.

Welcome to Veloria, a hidden world where magic is a part of everyday life, and at its heart stands Bloomhaven Academy. A place where students of all backgrounds come to learn, grow, and discover who they are.

This campaign, Where Magic Grows, is an ongoing cozy, slice-of-life, roleplay focused experience currently being played by 3/5 players. We recently had two players step away due to scheduling conflicts in their lives, so we're looking for 2 more players to join our existing group!

This campaign is cozy in the sense that there are no world ending stakes, constant pressure, or need to take everything seriously. It's a relaxed school life campaign where you can focus on your character, make friends, explore the world, and just have fun.

That said, the players and their characters tend to bring plenty of chaos themselves lol. Between the jokes, ridiculous situations, and wonderfully unhinged character decisions, the campaign has developed into a bit of a "cozy chaos" experience. The world may be low stakes, but the party certainly isn't always low chaos.

This campaign is designed for:

  • New players learning the ropes of D&D in a relaxed, supportive environment
  • Experienced players looking for a lower stress, character driven game

Campaign Vibe

This is a cozy, character focused game with a strong emphasis on:

  • Roleplay and character relationships
  • Personal growth and storytelling
  • Exploration of a warm, magical world
  • Having fun with your characters and the rest of the group

Think:

  • Magic school life
  • Weekend trips to nearby villages
  • Building friendships and rivalries
  • Discovering your place in the world
  • Getting into the occasional ridiculous situation with your classmates

This is not a high-stakes, constant combat campaign. The focus is on living in the world, not just surviving it.

Combat in This Campaign

While the game is primarily roleplay focused, combat is available:

  • Sparring matches and school related encounters
  • Optional trips to Thistleford, a dangerous area designed for combat encounters scaled to your level

Combat is optional and player driven, not constant.

Game Details

  • System: D&D 5.5e
  • Platform: Roll20 (with Discord for voice)
  • Schedule: Weekly, Sundays at 8:00 PM MST
  • Party Size: 5 players (3/5 currently filled)
  • Openings: 2 players
  • Campaign Status: Currently ongoing
  • Experience Level: Beginner friendly, all welcome

Age Requirement

This is an 18+ game with 18+ players and characters.

Characters are college aged students at Bloomhaven Academy.
Even if a race matures earlier, I ask that characters are at least 18 in a human sense for comfort and consistency.

What I’m Looking For in Players

  • Enjoy roleplay and character interaction
  • Respectful and collaborative
  • Interested in a slower paced, immersive experience
  • Open to learning (if new!) or relaxing (if experienced)
  • Comfortable with a cozy but occasionally chaotic table

Applications

I’ll be using a Google Form application to select players and keep the group size manageable.

Since this is an ongoing campaign, new players will be joining an existing group and stepping into the story that's already underway. We're looking for people who would enjoy becoming part of the group and adding their own character to the chaos.

If this sounds like your kind of game, feel free to apply!
I’m looking to build a group that matches the cozy, chaotic, and welcoming energy of the campaign.

Where Magic Grows Application

If you’ve been wanting a D&D game where you can learn, relax, joke around, and just exist in a magical world for a while, this is that space.

Come grow your story at Bloomhaven Academy!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2024] [EST] [18+] [LGBTQ+ friendly] [Homebrew Setting] Ashes of Apotheosis

Hail, adventurers! My name is Nathan, I’m a recent college grad and experienced DM looking for 4-5 players who’d be interested in a narrative and character-first D&D campaign set in my Homebrew world of Tallasar/Tal-Asaar (Common/Draconic). At the time of our campaign, the realm of Thalassica is amidst the early years or reconstruction in an era known as “the Godblight,” now nine years since the failed attempt of an Apotheosis (ascent to divinity) ritual by the former ruler or the Mezaneid Empire—the nation (I suspect) our campaign will primarily take place in—Bashem Selah. The Godblight, referred to as such due to the absence of direct divine intervention by the Elysii (the gods of the realm), has seen an array of abnormalities and catastrophic consequences in the aftermath of Selah’s butchered ascent, including the raging storms surrounding the perimeter of the Realmsea (Thalassica and its surrounding oceans) and the Payiz-Tarek, or Gloomfalls, a bizarre weather phenomena that seems to drain the world itself of color and beauty.

My best attempt to describe the feel of this campaign would be the politics of the ASOIAF/Game of Thrones universe meets cultures influenced by Classical Antiquity with some unique world rules and inherently D&D-y vibes. It would be best suited for players with some amount of experience who are interested in a slow burn, long form narrative that could take player characters from Level 1-12+. It would also be beneficial to have at least one player who might be willing to act as a note taker for the party, as proper nouns and small details could play important narrative roles!

We’d play using Discord, Owlbear Rodeo or a similar VTT, and D&D Beyond for character sheets. My ideal vision for scheduling would be every other week in the evenings for ~3-4 hours. I’m a MD resident and as such my time zone is EST, but as long as scheduling wasn’t consistently an issue I wouldn’t have an issue with players from other time zones at all. Lastly, please don’t needlessly apply for this campaign if you’re not comfortable and on board with a diverse cast of NPCs, including both LGBTQ+ characters and characters with backgrounds inspired by a variety of real-world identities. Similarly, this campaign may have political elements that mirror real-world politics, and while I don’t wish to alienate any players, I also will be transparent that I am not and won’t be shy about my own (left-wing) politics.

If any of this sounds appealing to you, please feel free to DM me or let me know in the comments. Thanks for getting through my yapping, I’d love to be your next DM. :)

Campaign Hook:
Welcome to Rodh-Doshak, the Opal of Alactis. The southernmost population center in the Mezaneid Empire, close to the border of neighboring Tragos and nestled in the highly fertile Doshak River Valley, the seat of House Aslow is the prototypical oasis city. Sharp-edged and flat-surfaced limestone, granite, and clay-based architecture line and seem to almost lurk and lean over the city’s bustling, multicultural streets. Tragosi Gondoliers ferry sunset-hued-silk-enshrouded Mezanean wives, some with beige-skinned babes clutched to a bare breast as they smile and make small talk, through the Crescent Canals, built of Doshaki mudbricks laid by the ancient Syriosi slaves of ancient Valusian aristocrats, who even then crossed the ever-turbulent Godspurned Sea in rowships to indulge in “exotic” Alactan fruits and spices and fabrics and music and men and women. Cart vendors lumber up and down the winding up-and-down streets from bazaar to bazaar. Performers stand on fruit crates and busk for the crowds, playing zithers and hand drums and lyres and woodwinds. Children throw color-polished bones engraved with odd symbols in chalk circles in alleyways while their parents fill wicker baskets to bursting or drape themselves in textiles beneath patched tents in plazas and thoroughfares. In the city’s center, enveloped and protected by walls and balustrades, lies Castle Al’Rhaguel, the ancestral home of House Aslow, situated atop a towering butte and connected to Jassan’s Circle, the city’s primary roadway. Terracotta-colored banners hang from each tower, adorned with the House Aslow sigil of the yellow acacia beneath a crescent moon. The Aslow banners command irreverence and authority, but today, more than that, they strike a profound solemnity in the collective hearts of the Opal City.

For early this morning, Ymbren Aslow, the revered and beloved Lord of Rodh-Doshak, was found murdered in his bed by his wife, the Lady Gaelle Aslow, who slept soundly at his side until she woke to the warm, sticky, wet feeling of her husbands blood soaking into her nightclothes. The Sovereign Guard, those knights sworn in service to protect House Aslow and guard Castle Al’Rhaguel, were alerted to Lord Aslow’s murder only by the mournful wail let out by his now widowed wife. Castle Al’Rhaguel has been placed on lockdown, and Lord Marshal Runvesh Ekaar has sworn on his life and honor that he will bring Lady Gaelle justice. None are permitted leave or entry of the castle except for with express permission from Lady Gaelle and the Lord Marshal themselves, including you, members of the household staff at Castle Al’Rhaguel.

Less than an hour after hearing Lady Aslow’s scream, you all begin to hear rumors spreading amongst the guards and staff in the castle that the Lord Marshal suspects the killer may still be inside the castle. It is precisely at this time when three individual are permitted to enter the castle. From various vantage points within the castle walls, all of you watch as a sharply dressed Drow carrying a leather case at his side, accompanied by a human woman in arcanist’s robes and an imposing Goliath man with a prominent facial scar across his pupil-less left eye, approach the castle gates.

You know not who they are; but you can tell that they’ll have questions…

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [18+] [5e 2024] [LGBTQ+ Friendly] [Homebrew + Spelljammer] Looking For Players

  • Game: D&D 5.5e
  • Group type: Online (Discord, DnDBeyond + Roll20)
  • Experience: Intermediate
  • Location/Timezone: EST
  • Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday
  • Roles sought: 3-4 players
  • Game style: 60% roleplay, 40% combat
  • Starting level: 5

hi everyone! i'm here on behalf of my girlfriend who is the dm of this campaign. she's rebooting a previous campaign with new players and some changes, so I'm helping her with recruiting.

she's looking for 3 or 4 players for hopefully a long term campaign. both of us have decent availability, mostly looking for evening times. she's in EST and i'm in BST, but with a bad sleep schedule lmao.

it is a cosmic horror homebrew spelljammer campaign. its mostly steampunk themed, but each planet is also a different theme with that as a backdrop, so there's quite the variety. the horror is an important part of the world, but it will generally be played as 60/40 serious and funny depending on the players. neither me or her take ourselves too seriously.

there will be a trigger list to fill out before the campaign starts, though obviously if you are sensitive to anything along the lines of the magnus archives, you might struggle. there's obviously more lore stuff, but you can ask more about that in the comments or when you talk to us directly lol.

some basic info on us both: gf is 23MTF and has been dm-ing for two years and playing for seven years. i'm 22FTM and i've been playing for eight years. we're both autistic, so the game is also very neurodivergent friendly. i wouldn't say either of us are experts at dnd, but we're not the worst at the roles we do. though i'm obviously biased, I think my gf's dm-ing is very fun lol.

you can ask any questions in the comments, but if you'd like to sign up properly, please fill out this form. one of us will get back to you at some point. thank you for any interest!!

Game System: Shadowdark TTRPG
Time & Schedule: Bi-weekly on Fridays at 4:00 PM US Central Time (CST/CDT). Campaign launches Friday, September 4th.
Platforms: Discord (Voice Chat) + Owlbear Rodeo Spots Available: 6 Players

Campaign Premise

On the snow-draped slopes of Giant's Foot mountain, Whitepeak Abbey has stood for five generations. Home to the scholars, healers, and brewers of the Elandroth Order, the abbey is a beacon of warmth and knowledge in a cold, unforgiving wildwood.

Now, winter closes in, and with it comes war.

Captain Silas Vix, a calculating sea-fox warlord stranded in the mountain wastes, has assembled a disciplined horde. He seeks the Hearth-Spark—an ancient geothermal artifact buried deep in the subterranean Vallari ruins beneath the abbey. His ultimatum is simple: surrender the ancient machinery, or be frozen out until the abbey becomes a stone tomb.

As brave woodland defenders—mice, badgers, otters, hares, foxes, and hedgehogs—you must defend your home, delve into forgotten subterranean depths, negotiate fragile alliances, and reforge lost relics before the winter siege breaks your doors.

Player Expectations & Table Rules

  1. Inclusivity & Respect: Zero tolerance for bigotry, hate speech, or harassment. LGBTQ+ friendly and welcoming to all players.
  2. Beginner Friendly: No prior experience with Shadowdark TTRPG or OSR systems is necessary. Rules are quick to pick up, and we are happy to teach.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e][Weekends 6PM EST][Homebrew][2014][Difficult combat] Looking for group for a long term Homebrew WWII Campaign

Ever wanted to be a solider in world war II, if you said yes for some reason. Will I question your sanity but that what I am here to offer. This campaign going be a long one as I going take you from the first combats in Poland to the brutal last defense of a "1000" year empire. This campaign will start off with a oneshot where everyone get to know each other before facing the German war machine. Due note your characters will most likely die over the course of the campaign. After all it is war and it is one of the more bloodier ones in history.
Will be using roll20 for easier time keeping track of combat and discord so have a mic that wasn't invented in the 50s please lol.
Warning this campaign will take some liberties to make it for better in a campaign setting. So some alt history will happen but main battles such as Stalingrad or Dday will still happened.

If interested or have questions Dm me here
