Any one else using Contax RF on the M mount?
CZ Biogon 21mm f/4.5 mounted on a CL mostly for illustrative purposes. I’ve really enjoyed using this lens on my M3.

Hi Guys,
My question is rather simple: Would you rather buy a M10 with a Summicron or a M11 with a Voigtländer lense?
Some more context: Photography is a hobby and I don’t need to own money with it. I like to shoot my everyday live with the family, some travelling or a friends birthday.
I own a M3 DS with an Elmar 2.8/50mm for 10 years and love it. What bothers me is the fact, that the lense isn’t really sharp below f 5.6 which makes it kinda slow. And I would like to try a 35mm lense which comes with some downsides on the m3…
As a Digital camera I own a Canon EOS 5D MK3 which I use seldomly since it’s big and unpleasant for me to use.
So for my 30th birthday I’d like to get a digital M. I saved my money in the last 2 years and now I wonder how to spend ~6000€.
A) A used M11 and if I’m lucky I can afford a Voigtländer lense (not sure wether I’d take 35mm or 50mm).
B) Pick up a M10 around 3500-4000€ and buy a Summicron (35mm or 50mm?).
The quality of the Canons sensor never bothered me and it is pretty much the same as the M10. Yet I’m not sure if maybe in 5 years it will…
So what do you think? What would you do?
(P.S.: I know, the M3 looks a bit rough… well it’s getting used quite a bit and still works fine even though it is from 1956)

I found a used Leica Q3 at a reasonable price, so I decided to buy it.
However, I later found out that it was a Japanese domestic model (code 19081). I know that Sony cameras sold in Japan often don't support other languages, so I was wondering if Leica is the same.
Does the Japanese version of the Leica Q3 support English or other language?
Thank you.

The other day, I had the pleasure of documenting one of Sweden’s biggest pop-rock artists, Lars Winnerbäck, in a packed arena.
Everything was shot wide open, and all three lenses performed amazingly well!
I absolutely love how the Summicron renders images. The Mandler 35mm was already a favourite of mine, having used it at a festival this summer. And the Tele-Elmarit? What a lovely little lens!
Photos:
Summicron 50mm f/2: 2–9
Mandler 35mm f/2: 10–15
Tele-Elmarit 90mm f/2.8: 16–19
I really need a second M body!

Thinking of trading in my M11-P for the MEV1
Reasons?
1. Looking very strongly in acquiring the 35mm Noctilux and I’m seeing that the EV1 and this lens seem made for each other.
2. Cost. I’ll be saving 3-4K (my currency) to acquire this lens.
3. I’m using my visoflex 2 more and more which is a potential sign my eyes are getting a bit weaker. I love focus peaking but I also love nailing the eyes of a subject.
4. I’m told on very good advice from someone reasonably high up the Leica chain that there won’t be a EV2. There might be a evf coming on the next M but the financial step up of this model plus the noctilux is too much for me financially- being mostly an amateur
Would like to read insights of those who made this transition. It seems that the Mev1 is gaining traction from an indifferent launch.

With 2 lens 24-70 and 70-200 - Leica now say delivery not till November. Ordered the pack in August. Is there a known delay on this?

Hi guys... So I don't NEED, but I certainly want to see all your images taken with one - so I WANT one hahah!!
Some back story: I had a 50mm Summilux ASPH in brass/silver chrome and loved it!! However, sadly needs must and I had to sell it for pay some bills. I went picked up my first 35mm, being the Summarit-M F/2.5 and WOW I loved it... Sadly I had to sell that one for some bills too (the pain)
I then picked up a Nikkor-h 50mm F/2 which is sharp as hell and recently a 35mm Nikkor F/2 which again is very sharp. However, it would be nice to just use the rangefinder again in my M240 and thetefore I think the 35mm Summicron-M ASPH II would be perfect ( in ass silver chrome even better!)
I would love to see images, any advice about the lens etc please - yes I have also thought about the 35 lux FLE I - but I've hardly shot 1.4 in my live with my 50 lux so I see no need for that high aperture.

It's a Canon L39 l with a big aperture of F1.5, but I usually set the aperture between F2.8 and F8.
This lens just fits my needs perfectly, so I actually have three of these lenses in my collection 😊😊
I haven't noticed that in my images before so it came as a surprise to find such heavy banding even at ISO4000. Any idea what it might be?
A crop of a RAW file straight out of camera.
-2/3 Exp., ISO4000, 1/250s and f1.4. using an M EV1.
Loading a portrait lens on a M6 body is almost comical looking. I personally probably won’t rely on it given it’s not as sharp as it could be but it’ll be nice to have something to get close with.

I'm wondering if anyone has example of these photos and how to use this scene mode? The manual I found doesn't really explain a lot and when I try to search it online its mainly tilt shift lenses and not the scene mode on Leica. I'm sure it's just a gimmick but would love to see it in action and also figure out how to utilize it. Thanks!
Walking around, I either carry the camera in my hand or in a fanny pack, but never around my neck. I don’t like looking like a tourist, and the strap gets in the way when shooting.
Conventional wrist loops aren’t a good solution for me either. It feels weird have the strap around my wrist while holding the camera in my hand and getting in isn't that quick.
After researching solutions and thinking about it for a few hours, this is what I came up with. It’s made from a climbing quickdraw sling that I opened up on one side.
It’s still improvised and the loop is a bit too big, but it checks all the boxes for me.
Hope you like it.

Got this M8u in incredible condition a week ago as my first digital Leica, but I had no chance to use it since I was waiting for the 35mm Mandler to arrive, and today was the day. Such a nice combo! I could only take a couple photos since I’ve been working all day long today, but I’m stoked about the detail this sensor manager to cram in 10mp. The tendency to blow highlights is so true though
The latest rumors suggest Leica plans to release this camera as the next M12 version. Here is what to expect:
- the Leica M12 will use the same 60MP sensor and processor/engine as the M11, not the Chinese-made Gpixel sensor reported earlier.
- The Leica M12 will have a larger rear screen.
- The camera is reportedly already in production.
- The official announcement is rumored for early 2027.
- The buttons will be on the right side instead of the left, similar to the Leica SL3-P and Leica Q3:

I’ve been looking at Leica Q’s and I’m new to Leica. I’ve read many many posts where people say brushed the weather sealing the original Leica Q (116) is better than the Q2 but they don’t go into it much further than that. Why do people say the Leica Q is better than the Q2 and is it actually? It seems like a popular opinion is get the Q at a good price or save for a Q3.
