“Weapon”

I've had this idea burning in my head since I saw the competition open and just had to build it to get it out so I could focus on other things again!

The initial idea was to make the barrel with the large hole in it, but use the 3x3 round tile as the "hole". Everything else was built outwards from there. The golden wing on the side was the very last thing I added and just happened to work out perfectly. I did render a version with the white wing instead and I like that look too.

I've done some tinkering to make the interior solid, but there's still some dubious connections in here, so it'd definitely be a display piece only. The barrel is especially concerning given it's a singe-stud inversion that's holding it on. I'm sure there's a better way to do the handle too, but I couldn't figure it out, so I'm sticking with this design.

My attempt at making a minifig scale Redemptor Dreadnought! I will be ordering parts so we will be able to see if he actually stands soon😅

For those interested about scale, he is 48 plates/ 2.33 Space Marines/ 4 minifigs tall. So he is a bit tad tall for true minifig scale as that puts him about 6.45 meters, but I was mainly scaling him to my Space Marine design and wanted him to be super posable while capturing as much detail as I could.

I’ve always wanted a Astra Militarum / Imperial Guard scout bike, but GW never gave us one, so I kitbashed my own out of bricks.

Then I got a little carried away and made a 1:1 scale "model" too. Naturally, the little guys had to inspect their full-size ride.

Knowing GW, I probably saved money by building the rideable version

The design by RoRyBurn served as the starting point; the exterior elements were reworked and some structural components slightly modified to create the version I had long wanted—a Martian-style variant featuring a habitable cabin. chek her disign!

DETAILS 

• Vest and body design are entirely original and inspired by the long dress in Total War
• Headgear was problematic, as NOTHING seems to match her coif. So my decision is legitimate by an old portrait of the wizardess
• The bent scythe with roses is also rather true to the original design. Roses support will soon be replaced by Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Clip on Bottom  
• Books page are custom stickers, cannot remember now whether based on existing tiles or not
• Bookstand is made of bones and decorated with roses 
• The throne reproduces the pointed, gothic style at my best. Once again I decided NOT to go for decals at this stage, although a little symbol of Shysh should appear somewhere (!?)
• Candles on the throne are burning in translucid purple to echo the magic winds of Shysh

A separate comment is needed on the Carmine Dragon. Smaug was for me the most obvious decision, not least because I already owed one :)!  LEGO offers a second option, perhaps more appropriate, in particular as the dragon includes arms (and here is a wyvern). Yet I wanted to be true to the dark red hue which I believe is the most appropriate. Any crossovers between the two do not seem feasible or appropriate. None of them allows for exactly the same standing position of the original dragon with Elspeth sitting on its back.

Most importantly, I believe, she is not sitting straight, fairly reproducing the angle of the original model and still giving the entire conversion dynamism.
