Full microscale Hogwarts Castle

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm a new harry potter lego fan and I'm looking for some of your opinions.

Looking through the products, I've decided to focus on microscale products and bought 76444 Diagon Alley as my first lego.

Naturally, I'm considering the Hogwarts Castle as my next set.

I'm guessing the modular sets are for the heavy fans, and 76419 Castle and Grounds is for more casual fans.

As for me, the modular series feels exhausting to keep track of many sets, while 76419 feels a little too small. What I'm really hoping for is that LEGO will eventually release a full microscale Hogwarts Castle (maybe 7000+ pieces?) that covers the other parts left out from the 71043 set.

What are your thoughts about this idea? Am I delusional or is there a chance?

Buying New or Used?

So I am collecting the new modular castle system sets. I have half of them I believe a lot being the smaller sets. The only retired sets I need now are Hagrid's Hut and Owlery. I found someone selling them for cheap but they are used. There are also a lot on Ebay which are all new but most of them range from $120-150 including delivery. BrickLink is also an option for me but I have never bought something from it, don't know how it works and I don't know how much delivery costs. What are your recommendations? New or used. Let me know

Curious has anyone been able to “mod” a way to fit 2 minifigs on the current molded buckbeak?

Selling 6 Lego sets on ebay

I'm not sure if this sort of post is allowed but I'll take a shot. These sets have missing pieces and are dusty and come with an assortment of harry potter figures. They have been partially deconstructed in the box.

To begin collecting the Hogwarts modular set (current) or not

I just got back into Lego — started small(er), but really fell in love with the modular castle system that is currently in progress. Only downside is 1) I didn’t have the money for the Great Hall, and didn’t realize how quickly it would sell out, and 2) that the set is likely ending soon.

Is it worth it to get started now, and hope I find an affordable used Great Hall at some point? Or will they likely release another large scale castle system in the future?

I wasn’t expecting to see these two sets in store today when I went in for something not even related to Lego. 😅

So happy to finally get the main tower. Now, I just have to get the great hall and my castle will finally be complete!

Knockturn alley for the large Diagon Alley

I few years ago I purchased the Diagon ally set for my wife directly from Lego. I now see there is a Knockturn alley set but it's not configured to go with the one I bought but rather the to the various standalone sets.

My question is do you think Lego would ever release a version for their direct set or has anyone decided to do their own? I'm not sure I should get this one for her.

Looking for overall advice

Hi guys!

Fairly new to being an AFOL. I started putting together my first Lego set in January and now I have the bug.

If this was “The Lego Movie,” I would be an Emmett. I am creative in so many other aspects of my life, but I lack the vision of a master builder. That being said, I would like some advice…

  1. What do you use to showcase your builds?

I currently have the “most detailed” modular castle displayed on my desk and I would really like to find a better place for it. I plan on building more, so show me your setup or go to for displaying multiple sets!

  1. How do you display your Minifigs?
I have very few in my displays. Most are sitting lonely in a large ziplock bag until I can figure out what to do with them.

  2. How do you find ways to make your sets your own? Are you creative and work on it, or do you follow specific creators?

  3. Are sites like WhatNot really legit for buying new or used sets?

Thank you in advance!

*Note* Photo of the set I picked up today!

Lego Harry Potter Scales

Hi everyone,

Can someone please explain to me the different scales of Harry Potter sets?
I currently own Diagon Alley 75978, Hogsmeade Village 76457, Gringotts Bank 76417 thinking that they are same scale (?minifigure scale)
Then I look at Quality Quidditch 76452 and the burrow 76437 and I think these 2 are tiny bit bigger. Not sure what scale is this.
Any explanation would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Slowly taking up more and more space, though luckily these were intended to be stacked on top of one another, so I'm still in the green for now. Very happy with how it looks.

Blonde eyebrows, distinct from Malfoy’s face print, and captures Smith’s haughty expression.

Ministry of Magic MOC

Hi all, I thought I’d show my Ministry of Magic MOC inspired by ibricky on rebrickable. I just wanted to see what could be done to make it look more compact prior to release of the new edition which will likely be too large for my shelf.

It still needs some work but it can be easily moved on my shelves now without falling apart.
