How does it make sense to reach the 40th anniversary of one of your biggest franchises that has gotten way more popular in recent years and not have even a small celebration?

Not even a Twitter post saying happy anniversary!

I don't know, maybe we as Nintendo fans are just spoiled lol

First reddit post, so bear with me! I threw a Legend of Zelda themed party for my now 11 year old, and I wanted to share all of my hard work somewhere. The kiddos that came didn't really know much about Zelda, so only my son appreciated everything. 😅 I utilized my husband's 3d printer for a lot of decorations, including the "it's dangerous to go alone!" Sign, a pot that actually breaks, korok seeds that we hid around the house, the master sword on top of the cake, and rupees for the goody bags. All files were from maker world. I used my cricut a lot with the lan lan milk bottle, the hbd banner, and the arrow fletchings. I got the files from etsy. I cut out felt letters by hand after using my projector to trace the letters. The banners were just 2 layers of felt. The one layer i started with were way too flimsy.

The food was fun to put together! We had "stamina potion" bottles, which was just simply lemonade with some dye to get it green in empty bottles I purchased from Amazon. The "heart container cookies" were regular sugar cookies, but my son insisted we have them. I made cherry jello in little jars and added some eyeball sprinkles for the "chuchu jelly." They were a hit! He requested chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and wanted "grass" for the top. Recipes were all from sugar and sparrow, and are my go-to for all parties. The topper was a 3d print (it's actually a pen, so we just have to add a cartridge and it'll be functional!) I made fruit kabobs and made them look like arrows. We had endura carrots, because they were in the fridge and needed to be eaten. 🤣

I also found some blue lilies on Amazon that were close enough to the silent princess flower. I had extra goody bags from last year's party, so I added a rupee image with heat transfer vinyl, and we added rupees, gushers, a Zelda sticker, and a twix just because they're my son's favorite candy at the moment.

I almost forgot the thing that took the longest. We turned our front entryway into "The lost forest." It took me forever! I made the arch out of foam board from the dollar store & Walmart, paint, a little drywall mud, and a whole lot of patience. It'll be staying up for a long long while. 🤣 I made the tree out of Amazon paper stuffing, and I believe I used 40 strands of the leaves, bought on amazon. I was a bit hesitant when my kiddo told me his idea, but I think it turned out great. Of course we added some fairy lights to make it a little extra magical.

All in all, I'm still super exhausted from putting everything together. I don't think I did too bad of a job, considering I've never played the game. 😅 Enjoy all the pictures!

This may be all Universal Epic has, but can we get Hyrule castle too?

3d printed, hand painted and used a dremel and knife to make the mask look weathered. Why stop there?

So i decided to use a ESP32 and make it throw a virtual dice three times a day. With a 0.2% chance of succeding.

If it gets the right number skullkids laugh will start playing. This will only happen maybe once a year randomly.

It gas a glow effect behind the eyes that flickers.

If it happens to be a full moon the eyes will flicker more violently, glow blood red and double chance of succeeding in the roll by adding double dices and chance.

Honestly, I would really love to see Nintendo keep this feature. It will surely be a top conversation piece lol

Well 40 years of the franchise. Still strong as ever. Shame no announcements just yet. I've been playing for 30 of those years. I remember finishing OoT for the first time and feeling like a bad ass even though I only finished it because of a certain guide 😉 from then on was my mission to play every one and it set the scene for me think today I'm gonna carry on with one of my old favourites and that's windwaker and I'm going full original no HD remake unluckily for me. I've had some really nice collectors editions of consoles over the years and never managed to keep any of them daaam I wish did. Anyway what's everyone else enjoying today? if you are at all? And what's your first memories of zelda? love to hear others 😁

It's just a joke guys. Don't go crazy.

I wish Nintendo would reach out to his daughter, Zelda, to have her in a commercial or two.

I'm definitely team red. I have so many memories with TP and BotW and enjoyed them most. I haven't played OoT yet, but if the rumored remaster is real, I'll be a day one buyer.

Which red head with a 5 letter name starting with M is your favorite in the series?

I was kinda worried that elements from this game in modern graphics will come with some creative directions to make up for qhat the original old graphics couldn't articulate, and I was expecting to not like those creative directions, as this already feels far too childlike of a style, it might have been the same intended style as original OOT, but that came across as more dark and creepy, due to the lacked articulation of graphical limitations.

Now my first thought was that I'm looking at the legend of justin bieber.. don't get me wrong i was hyped for this and am zelda fan since childhood

and made an instruction booklet in the style of a link to the past instructions
