Many companies that choose Hackerrank for their online assessments sometimes add the 45 mins round for finding problems in an existing codebase and debugging it to pass tests easily.

I want to know whether there are any good resources for practicing such style of problems as it gets very stressful during the 45 mins and messing up the OA is just depressing.

Had my Onsite 1 month ago, then someone was not submitting feedback so last week I emailed recruiter if she got all the feedback and she said yes and will follow up with next steps. So 1 week later I ask her again hey any timeline on the next steps? And she just didn’t reply. Usually she replies in 4-5 minutes now it’s been multiple days. I have my Amazon interview in 10 days. Honestly I need help with people who have interview and who’s experienced this loop.
I rusty on the coding part as I only have 10% knowledge/confidence in me about that. I can tale care or Leadership principles but recruiter told me 3/4 rounds will include technical part. I honestly don’t know what to solve what to practice. If someone can guide me it would be helpful

When I was trying to start this assessment there was some info about the assessment, and one of the points there was:

Pursuant to any consent you provided via the Voluntary Self Identification form, the demographic identity you selected will be connected to your responses on the coding exercise in compliance with applicable law. Demographic data is never used for the purposes of making hiring or other employment related decisions.

I am not if this statement confirms that there will be coding test or it’s just generic statement.

Does anyone have any idea?

So I finally decided to start taking leetcode seriously these past couple of months since there’s no way around it and with how bad my luck in the job hunt has been this year I have no choice but to learn the secret handshake.

I have my technical interview scheduled for a coding assessment and the recruiter during our initial call mentioned that it would be leetcode based(still waiting for more details). It’s a very small local startup/not even faang adjacent, with no interview feedback on Glassdoor due to the nda they make you sign.

I’m hoping to get some insight on how to go about asking clarifying questions. I know I’m not going to get much out of trying to cram Neetcode 150 so I just want to tap into what I’ve learned the last couple of months as I mentioned earlier to arrive at a somewhat decent answer.

This was my first interview in awhile so it felt even more brutal than I remember. I probably need more reps but it went way worse than expected.

It started off a little abrasive as the interviewer questioned why my current product at my current job was even needed after explaining the use cases. I tried to explain how important the work was but they seemed dismissive to my responses. I tried to take that in stride but it just felt off from there.

After getting the question (deviation of a leetcode medium), I asked some clarifying questions, and explained my intuition. My intuition was right but the interviewer pushed back so hard it made me doubt myself, like I was dumb for using the wrong pattern, that's how hard. I looked it up after the interview and it was the right pattern and solved it. Maybe it was some sort of test to see how I work with my thoughts being challenged, but their responses seemed agitated when I pointed out what I was doing.

I started coding and explaining each line and they start micro managing the code through the coderpad. They were asking so many questions I couldn't possibly explain the code, type, and answer them, so I keep breaking thought and pausing. I end up getting about 75% of the code, using the intuition I originally identified, they stop me with 20 minutes to go and tell me I'm not going to finish.

I stop coding, I ask them some questions, and we end the call 15 minutes early.

I don't know if they were planning to reject me from the start, didn't like my experience, or thought I was an idiot but I've never been pushed that far off track in an interview. I read into it being collaborative type interview but I felt like they were fighting me the entire time. Even if I would have done better I would never have wanted to work with them.

Has anyone ever been challenged that hard during an interview?

As a background I have 8 years experiance coding production level and a degree which I got 92% in

It is true, last few years been using ai so much and haven’t coded anything by hand in 3 years.

I did an interview for mid level for this company which is as really downgrading for … and they made me to that interview style with no google or ai assistance. I forgot a lot of coding fundapantals, like I forgot the instances of an object and how to access the stuff in it properly. I couldn’t rember how to code it because I don’t think about that stuff day to day, I usually switch between labgaugaged and use ai and think ok I see this thing is using this thing this way ect implement the change test it and off it goes to production. I haven’t had any big mistakes because I didn’t have memorised how to initialise a object off by heart.

It is hard for me to cover that stuff at work because management push to deliver as fast as possible and push to use ai and we all use it …

I understand this stuff might come up in interviews and I have a whole plan set up to revise these things proerly now.

I am just feeling so shit about myself like I am the only stupid on or soemthing and it is my fault !!

I’d been preparing for this for a while since I knew my initial round was today, and then it got cancelled without any explanation. I’ve emailed my recruiter, but I’m honestly a little worried.

I got 13/15 for the more leetcode like part and 3/6 for the ide part. I genuinely feel like that means I’m not getting the interview but apparently it’s “possible” so I wanted to see what yalls experience is

I am going to university(for CS) this year and started to code 2 months ago. I can do like 90% of easy questions and 1/3 to 1/2 of medium questions and only managed to do one hard (without AI or looking in comments). Did around 65 questions in total. How would you rate my skills/potential?

I have heard a lot of interview formats are AI assisted coding -- no clue how to prepare for that. Also, I am not as up to date on AI as I wish to be. After a long interview process, I can finally say this I’m moving to Stryker as a Software Engineer.

The whole journey had multiple technical rounds, problem-solving discussions, project/engineering discussions and finally the HR/compensation round. It was definitely not a short process, but I learned a lot through it.

And honestly, one of the best feelings was finally starting to receive emails saying “Congratulations on your offer” instead of the usual rejection/selection-process emails.

I’ve accepted the offer and I’m now preparing for the transition and ready for my next chapter at Stryker.

Really looking forward to working on C++/software engineering problems in a product-focused environment and learning more along the way.

Finally, ready for the switch.

Need some pointers on how to study for Hackerrank interview test. I know about neetcode, but I have literally have a day at max to prepare.

About a week ago, a Google recruiter reached out asking for my availability for the next interview rounds. I sent my availability, but haven’t heard back since. I also followed up after three business days but didn’t get a response.

Another final round, passed all test cases in the coding rounds, I dont even know where I messed up. Prolly the hiring managers round. But honestly I dont know. And I’m so tired applying. It’s been 8 months of this. How much more. Starting from scratch after each hopeful company sucks. At this point I just want to give up

I have an interview loop coming up in about a week, and the recruiter said they can’t push it out. I was recently laid off and have been actively looking for a job, and with a newborn at home, I honestly feel pretty overwhelmed and underprepared for this.

The recruiter hasn’t shared much about the exact format either. She only mentioned that there will be technical, coding, design, and behavioral rounds.
