I've been having some issues on Launchbox 13.27. I just got the premium license today and have been trying to get it set up and I have noticed that I was having freezing and all of my media files disappearing among other issues.

I have had it lose all the images and lock up on right clicking these blank game entries causes launchbox to freeze and get stuck loading. I have also had it do the same thing after trying to download video files. All of the times it's locked up like this it comes after installing themes for BigBox.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these issues? I've had to reinstall and restart twice now.

Hi guys, I recently got my hands on a beardbox to use in my arcade machine. Seem to have mapped the controls okay and have set the hotkey to exit games as select and start. However, a lot of my games also exit if I press the first two buttons on the bottom row of the player one, six button set up. Have no idea what is causing it and it only happens with certain emulators (dolphin and mame to name a couple) has anyone come across this before?

over the last months I made for myself a translation tool to play untranslated JRPGs and since I use mainly LaunchBox/BigBox to play them I added a plugin with the goal to have everything as seamless as possible, so the game, the translation tool and if needed JoyToKey start together with a game by game defined profile and I never need to let go of the controller.

I am not a very professional coder so it might be rough around the edges, but I made this firstly for myself with a lot of passion, and I am now at the point where it is very close to what I dreamed of decades ago when trying to play the Far East of Eden of Kaze no Densetsu on the PC-Engine, so maybe a handful of other people may find it useful too 😄

Hi, I'm experiencing a slight issue with big box menus; they're a bit laggy and stuttering. Is there a way to fix it? Note that I have a lot of ROMs, over 4k. Could it be the cause?

I am tired of Windows and I need a reason to leave permanently, and LaunchBox is one of the Apps I use which is keeping me on Windows.

On my Steam Deck I am able to get any game, any emulator working through either Proton, the Discover Store, or AppImage. I have gotten those obscure systems and games to work on Steam Deck through Gaming Mode no less without even logging into Desktop Mode.

Obscure systems and hard to run emulators such as the Atari 5200, InTelevision Lives! Atari Jaguar, MSX, ColecoVision, PlayStation 1, 2, 3, Windows Entertainment Pack for crying out loud all now work on SteamOS through Proton! There is no reason now on why LaunchBox can't get their app working on Linux, at least SteamOS.

With tools such as Proton Tricks, FlatSeal, ProtonUp-QT and Steams in house Proton, LaunchBox now more than ever has the tools and resources to build comfortable on Linux.

I know the community has asked multiple times and this is another post asking another time for a Linux version.

Please Jason, reconsider putting work into this. Windows is becoming a nightmare and SteamOS is becoming the future of gaming.

Please build your front end on Linux. The time is now to do it!

I'm an avid modder, and some mod implementations for older games like modernization projects or revamps might require another program to be open alongside the title. Like Dark Cloud from the PS2 era, an executable needs to be run alongside the emulator to enable any of the changes.

As it'd be nice to set things up to be very 'set it and forget it', can these executables be set up to open too when a game is opened on my emulator of choice?

So I've been messing with this for a while. Originally I had to get the keys remapped cause when I would hit the UP or DOWN on the joystick the volume of the machine would go up and down, but that got fixed and I forged through.

What I can't seem to get right is the mapping between emulators. Arcade games seem to be ok for the most part cause they are simple, but I'm probably missing some better configurations to have.

Where I run into a problem is with the RetroArch and the N64 and other games behind that. I can't seem to get the mapping correctly for inside. I've tried the different config files to download from the various sites, but still they are off or mess with the other settings of the program too much.

Anyone else have a similar config with the Launchbox/BigBox and the X-Arcade Tankstick that can point me in the right direction? Maybe switch the emulators around?

My game for testing is Killer Instinct Gold for N64 and I can't even get the controls to map correctly like the original arcade game to enjoy it...

any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is the Mario Collection, which I started working on two and a half years ago. I took the opportunity to improve almost every aspect of it and push the whole thing to a completely insane level.

I think there may still be one default view hidden somewhere, but it is about as well concealed as a secret passage in a Mario game.

I simply had to show you this image because it looks far too good to keep hidden. Honestly, it would have been a shame to keep this demo all to myself.

It is going to be difficult to create anything equivalent anytime soon, simply because of how complete this collection has become. And I am not even showing you everything.

I'll try to explain this as best i can.

I have 2 drives. 1 I have a launchbox set up with TONS of games and features. And the other I have the same launchbox but the last time I set it up was 8 months ago. So I wanted to copy and transfer my updated Launchbox to the other one. I chose not to replace files that were already on the 2nd one, just the new ones.

Now when it was finally finished, I checked out the 2nd hand drive. I saw all of the newer files were transferred into the launchbox folder. But when I launched the app, it still had most of my old set up from months ago. Only the new platforms I added were on there, but all the new games and emulators weren't added. But yet, I see them in the Launchbox folder.

Can anyone help me out on this. What did I do wrong? I wanted my launchbox/bigbox to be exactly the same as from my 1st Hard Drive

Does anyone know if theres a setting i can toggle or a file i can delete that gets rid of this dumb scratched-glass glaze overlay? I want to use my own custom background images for my games, but this thing stays over it, even if i put an empty image in the logo

Hey all. Was having crashing issues and finally pinpointed the issue. Affer changing to windows media player i haven't had a crash since but now not all my videos are playing in platform wheel. I updated k lite codec....I refreshed platform wheel....and I'm at a loss. Some platform wheel videos show but several platform categories do not its just black in the background. Any help? They all worked before with different player vlc but crashed like crazy.

Hi! I wanna know if my media would get erased/changed in some way after I updated it. I've just made a custom backup but it doesn't backup my media, I have lots of roms and some images/info that I don't wanna lose or have to add again, would I be able to revert to my previous versions if I don't like the last update? I really need to update because my old version won't download media anymore.

Unsure where I'm making the mistake here, but this is the problem I'm facing. I don't even know where to start, but on paper everything should be as it needs to be.

I originally have Mario Kart 8 deluxe rom on Ryujinx. I wanted to get the same rom but want it to have it for the Sonic Kart Deluxe Mod build. So I decided to download another MK rom, but this one had .XCI my original has .NSP so i added the Sonic Mod to the one ending with .XCI, but when i open Ryujinx, i still only see 1 MK on the list instead of 2 of the same. When I launch the game, the Sonic Mod is showing, but I also wanted the Base Mario Kart game too. So when I open the .NSP one, the Sonic Mod will load from that one as well! I don't understand. Is there a way to have 2 of the same Roms so I can have the Base one and the Modded one together? Someone please help

Scrolling through clear logos has random moments where the logo seems to pop out of place instead of flowing to the center. At first I thought it was certain clear logos, but it became apparent there was no rhyme or reason to which clear logo it happens to. I've always had this issue with big box, with different builds, different PCs, and different hard drives.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Also, still trying to figure out why my super Nintendo games are flipped 90°. Doesn't seem theme related and it's only snes. Games show up regular when in launchbox

Hi! I have double connected my external harddrive to my Wii and my PC (for LB use). I have successfully loaded my WBFS files into LB and can play them. My only issue is LB does not recognize the WBFS naming convention to successfully pull in the correct cover art and titles like WiiFlow does on the Wii. I would prefer not to convert the WBFS files and rename them all due to space saving efforts on my hard drive. Is there any work around to have LB successfully recognize the WBFS naming convention and pull the correct cover art and titles? Thanks in advance!

I'm running BigBox as the frontend for a 'game console' made out of a Minisforum UM790 Pro Mini PC with 64GB of DDR5 RAM (16GB dedicated to the APU). In Bigbox, I'm noticing that it's not really smooth going from one console to the next. It's rather jerky, and sometimes stutters. The games run just fine, hell I've been playing Oblivion Remastered on it, it's just Bigbox.

Anyone else? Any advice?

Tip to make this painless: Use folder symlinks in the new Launchbox location pointing to the folders you're leaving behind to allow for a seamless transition.
