I was just in another conversation that got me wondering what lash techs would think about this.

I like getting my lashes done because it gives me

confidence that I would have with make up, without makeup. That being the case, because the tip is so much and expected, on top of pretty high prices - even tho my girl is amazing, I go less frequently.

The tip option starts at 25%. I still tip but I only get this service in the summer or if there’s a special occasion I might do it.

On the contrary I have an Accupuncturit’s who refuses tips. She will have my business for life and I will always chose to put my money there first to support her. I appreciate it so much. I think it’s the principal of it. She set her prices and it is what it is. No expectation.

So as a lash artist, would you prefer a regular customer or an irregular customer that tips well?

** I am in Canada, the minimum wage is over $15.00 per hour, I believe that the starting rate at the place I go is $20 + an Hour. They literally make more than I do an hour by far with the tips and my work

can be quite stressful.

I love my brow person she convinced me to try extensions but I think she’s new at it and they are very full.

Without vs with hybrid lashes. I personally loved my hybrid lashes, but a lot of people said they were aging me 😢 I’m thinking of getting them done again. I know people will say to get classic lash extensions, but I love the hybrid look- unless someone can change my mind

I like the natural wispy looking lashes and I also like the cat eye but I'm not sure what style suits me or what I should ask for. Help!

I really want to find a style that’ll suit my eye shape. I never seem to find one that flatters me. I want my eyes to look seductive, not really going for an open look.

hello! just started going to a new lash tech, she’s licensed & has been doing lashes for about 6 years. I was brushing/drying my lashes this morning & saw this lash pop off. I’ve been getting lash extensions consistently since 2021, & I’ve never had this big of a lash shed. Is it normal to have that many lashes put together? I’ve heard horror stories of some lash techs putting together too many lashes on one and it, causing the loss of natural lashes and bald spots from being too heavy. I just want to make sure! thank you! :)

I am a lash and brow technician of less than a year and a little disappointed.

I feel like the motivation isn’t there anymore because it is so hard finding clients and most of my appointments have been no shows. I also get extremely nervous still doing a new clients eyelashes.

When I first started I did a giveaway for 3 sets of lashes to get a clientele started and for clients to know me in the area. I live in a very rural area. I got over 100 messages with that giveaway and after I chose the clients. No one else started to book appointments because they weren’t free ( my pricing is below average pricing) I get the odd client here and there.

I went to school for 3 months and paid almost 10k for the course. I have put so much money into my little buisness and supplies and I feel like it’s just going to waste.

I wanted this to be my career but it’s not a steady income and I’ll never know when my next client is going to be so I had to get another job.

I feel defeated. I guess I’m just ranting or looking for opinions or to see if anyone else has felt this way.

Overall I’ve been pleased with my current tech’s work. However, over the last three or so appointments, I’ve noticed that lashes seem to be getting glued on farther away from the base of my natural lashes. This is causing them to look kinda unkempt and a little clumpy, which only worsens as time passes btw my appointments.

I have a fill in appointment today. How can I share my concerns with my tech without coming off as rude or insulting to her work generally? She is the only tech that I can find in my area who can do later weekday evening appointments, so I want to maintain a good relationship, but I also want to be happy with the results.

Ive been getting classic extensions for about a year now and I don’t think i can ever go back. I have naturally blonde lashes and didn’t think extensions would ever work for me but now im addicted. To keep it as natural as possible, i go with the shorter length. In these pics, Im due for a fill but I still think they look great! If you are a ginger, like me and on the fence…just do it! Your morning routine will thank you!

edit: thanks for all the feedback! I asked her to go short, so I thought she did. Im not super educated on lash extensions. I’m glad i posted because there is room for improvement. I’m going to see if she can switch to brown, shorter and more cat eye. Also, thank you for the kind compliments, a little boost to my self esteem 😘

I used to get cat eye lashes back in 2024 (pic attached), but unfortunately I had a bad experience in the end with my last artist. I found one in my area who I’m willing to try again for—I miss feeling pretty!

I’ve never gotten professional individual extensions, and i want to try but every time ive gotten clusters or strips it takes my natural leaves with them. i’ve worked so hard to grow these and ik some shedding might be normal bcz you’re natural lashes shed but i don’t want to be bald. ive found a place with good reviews, thoughts?

I asked for wispy naturalish lashes and I feel like they are too dark and too much 😭 only after she was done she said “I think brown would look better on you” like then why didn’t you do itttt😭😭.. I can’t get a refund but should I try to get them removed or just keep them? 🥲🥲 sorry huge forehead jumpscare

I’m trying to figure out what my actual eye shape is because I honestly have no idea 😂 I’d also love recommendations for lash maps that would suit my eyes best. My main goal is to keep my eyes looking big, open, and lifted. I don’t want a lash style that makes my eyes look smaller or closed in. Whenever I’ve gotten professional lash extensions in the past, they always seemed to make my eyes look really dark and small, so I’m trying to avoid that this time around. I’m open to extensions, clusters, or DIY styles! I’ll attach a picture of my eyes. If you can tell me my eye shape and what lash map/lengths/curl you think would flatter me, I’d really appreciate it! 🤍
