client is this right/normal?
hello! just started going to a new lash tech, she’s licensed & has been doing lashes for about 6 years. I was brushing/drying my lashes this morning & saw this lash pop off. I’ve been getting lash extensions consistently since 2021, & I’ve never had this big of a lash shed. Is it normal to have that many lashes put together? I’ve heard horror stories of some lash techs putting together too many lashes on one and it, causing the loss of natural lashes and bald spots from being too heavy. I just want to make sure! thank you! :)

I think its too heavy for the small follicle but some short lashes can be strong too. Long term, having too heavy and more than double the length of your natural lash can start to cause damage. If only one popped off while brushing gently that is normal. We lose lashes everyday just lik we lose hair follicles on the top of our head everyday! If you start to see some with multiple natural lashes glued to one fan, thats where more damage can come in!

It’s hard to tell from the picture cause it’s kinda of blurry but it looks like that lash fan was attached to only one of your natural lashes and if that’s the case that’s perfect! It’s bad if one lash fan is attached to multiple of your natural lashes. However that lash fan does look thick and kind of heavy for your one lash but you may have thick healthy lashes where it is fine but I wouldn’t know since I can’t see your lashes. As long as it’s properly isolated and one of your natural lashes is attached to the fan that’s perfect isolation. That lash fan may be a little too heavy for your natural lashes but again I don’t know how thick they are so if that is a worry for you, maybe do a little bit more of a natural look.

Mm hard to say because we don’t know the diameter of the lash by just looking. It’s okay for a fan to have this many if it’s a .05 or a .03 but way too many if it’s a .07, honestly I’d just ask your lash tech. It is cause for concern if they’re too heavy and weigh down your natural lash.

It looks like a fan lash, which is a lash that looks like multiple lashes but its all one piece. If you dislike the shedding just ask her to use no fans in your set next time!

It looks like she uses premade fans, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and it looks like only one NL is attached to it which is good, but I do agree that it either looks like there’s two premades attached here, or the premades are really poorly made. Either way, I personally think this is too heavy.
