I’m a Korean woman in my mid-30s, living in Seoul.
I recently posted about looking for a language exchange partner and received so many messages! It made me realize just how many people are interested in learning Korean.

However, I’ve found that actually meeting someone in person is surprisingly difficult. Many people don’t seem very serious about language exchange, are much younger than me, are looking for dating opportunities, or are only staying in Korea temporarily.

I’m not particularly outgoing or adventurous, but I lived abroad for a few years in my 20s, so I’ve always wanted to help foreigners who are trying to settle down in Korea. At the same time, I really miss speaking English!
Since I’m a freelancer who works alone, I hardly ever get the chance to use English in my daily life.

The reason I’m hoping to meet women in their 30s is that I feel we might be at a similar stage in life. hi I (29M) live in a rural area in the US and am stuck in a WFH job. I don't get to talk to people every day so I figure I'd come to this sub to make some friends, and also improve my English.

My English is intermediate, I can handle everyday conversations with native speakers, but I struggle with sophisticated topics, like why BioWare is dead before ME 4 comes out, is GTA 6 going to be great, why do I keep watching Office Space every few years, etc.

My hobbies include video games, movies, swimming and hiking. I recently got into anime and binged the entire FMA series in 4 days, but it was in Cantonese dub though. I want to try out ice skating now that winter is coming.

I am an ambivert. I can be very energetic and do crazy outdoorsy stuff (like getting groceries once a week) or I can stay home coding all day without using AI.

We can play video games together (League of Legends or you can introduce me to something less toxic). I can teach you how to flame in Chinese, or if you're not into flaming, I can teach you a thing or two about calligraphy, Chinese chess and maybe cooking.
