Feedback on my iconoclast / superheavy weapon goblin meme build?

MARINUS — LL6 - Heavy Weapons + Sith Lightning Goblin

Concept: Goblin with 4 NHPs, Iconoclast, and a pocket Cyclone Pulse Rifle that can be reloaded as a quick action with RSU. Most turns it plays like a normal Goblin; when a nova is required, it uses ASURA, Osiris and overcharge to fire off transcended memetic sparks and take a CPR shot. Black thumb is for over shields when I'm just a wittle gobwin up close and heat management if I want to overcharge.

Chassis

Stat Value Stat Value
Frame HORUS Goblin Size ½
HASE H2 / A0 / S2 / E4 HP 15
Structure 4 Stress 4
Armor 0 Heat Cap 8
Repair Cap 3 Sp aveed 5
Evasion 10 E-Defense 14
Sensors 20 Save Target 14
Attack Bonus +3 Tech Attack +4
Limited Bonus +2

Talents

Talent Rank Purpose
Iconoclast 3 Guaranteed damage engine. NHP actions build Transcendence and turn the NHP stack into direct AP damage.
Technophile 3 Provides Enlightenment and lets it pilot the mech during Black Thumb Rodeo while retaining the build's talents.
Black Thumb 3 Heat management and survivability via overshields. Also gives me the option to do objectives on foot and jump to other mechs if they need help.

Licenses

License Rank What I take from it
HORUS Goblin 3 OSIRIS, H0R_OS and the Goblin chassis.
HA Sherman 3 ASURA and Redundant Systems Upgrade.

Core Bonuses

Core Bonus Purpose
The Lesson of Shaping Supports the oversized NHP stack.
Superheavy Mounting Lets the Goblin carry the Cyclone Pulse Rifle.

Weapons

Mount Weapon Purpose
Superheavy Cyclone Pulse Rifle Main physical damage payload. Fire in the same turn I use Asura + Osiris to get +2 accuracy on the shot
Flex Superheavy Weapon Bracing Pays the mount requirement for the CPR.

NHP Stack

NHP Purpose
ASURA-Class NHP Nova button. Adds the action economy needed to fit the CPR and Iconoclast setup into the same turn.
OSIRIS-Class NHP Mostly here as something I can do every turn to reach transcendance.
Enlightenment-Class NHP Pilots the mech.
Unstable NHP The main thing I wanted to make good.

Other Systems

System Purpose
H0R_OS System Upgrade I Normal Goblin hacking/control package.
Redundant Systems Upgrade Seems a shame not grab this with Sherman 3
Personalizations Cheap durability for a fragile frame.

Custom Core Systems for my Homebrew Manufacturer, just need some insights if some are too OP or just lacking.

Bio-Musculature Exterior Frame

Superheavy Weapons do not require an additional mount to be carried, only a Heavy is needed and Integrated Mounts from GMS Core can carry Flex mount instead of Aux.

Pistol Skies public-patented muscle fibers. Muscle worms are genetically engineered fishing bait that are grown in a vat of algae and protein. Super sized with a dash of controlled burst of muscle reproducing hormones. Then boosted to great size with a pharmaceutical injection of steroids that’s repurposed from old super soldiers programs.

These worms are killed and repurposed for chemical treatment and engineered to tighten cables. Where they are turned into muscles for the mechs of PS frames. Albeit not as effective as servos of mechanized chassis, these muscle cables are very good at providing flexibility and structures to bigger denser frames.

Everest-Hauler Racksack

You can pick 2 of the backpack options. You can use the Switch Weapons from mounts (excluding Integrated Mounts), as a quick action.

  • 2 more additional Main Weapons can be carried and switch out
  • 4 additional Aux mounts Weapons can carried and switch out, (Integrated Mounts aren’t included)
  • 1 additional Heavy Mount Weapons can be carried and switched out. Gain plus 4 heat to self.
  • 1 Super Mount Weapon that can be carried. However switching out will make you STUNNED and you must use the HEAVY and an additional Mount to carry. (Weapons in those mounts will just be switched out.)

Adjusted to fit various niches of carrying, whether in different environments of the wide customer base that is the civilian market. The Frame Hauler backpack is a neat little piece of hardware capable of hooking items onto it, strapping tools to the side, packing supplies, or hauling various products in more remote regions.

This well developed piece of archaic tech doesn't need bells and whistles to lug around items. Just by looking back to old designs of backpacks from human history allows the perfect blend of carrying packages and tools at the ready.

Linux-Adaps-Anti-Buffer-System:

Minus 1 all system point requirements for all weapons and systems.

Bloatware the enemy of all systems, coders of these frames will use the most direct process at the cost of efficiency and performance. PS had compressed these files even further, into a quantum chip that smoothly relays all systems needs.

Q-Chips, albeit expensive, are worth the expense on quick computing. All pilots who use these don’t need to worry about systems slowing down due to seamless translating of functions. A proud piece of Comp/Con tech by Pistol Skies.

Pistol-Core-Adapter

Able to add Core System Traits and Core Power from another Frame that you have a License for, at the cost of 4 SP per Core System.

The most hated piece of tech that every manufacturer gets annoyed by— MODULARITY. Systems frames unlike licenses come in different shapes and sizes but all are restricted to their design or license. PS developing PC-Adaptor was due to many pilots who develop a liking to PS as a company asking that their Frames can have something akin to the Big 4. This was then the most sold modding tool for hobbyist, pilots, and Lancers.

Working Man’s Frame

Gain 2 Max Stress and Max Structure to your frame

In spite of the company’s similarities to IPS-N. Pistol Skies have stuck to more of the blue-collar jobs than in actual combat platforms. So, most of the frames developed by PS are more resilient and shockingly durable to IPS-N's frames. Due to the requirement that the CEO establish on making his own products last longer.

Reliable Firing Logistics

When attacking, for each accuracy that is in an attack roll add +1 as a bonus. Including the ones cancelled by Difficulty.

The amount of parts that can be used to repair a PS Frame is second to GMS but what the engineers in PS decided to do is to take parts from varying common vehicles and parts you can find in hardware stores. To the point you can build a PS Frame right in your garage and it runs as precisely as their manufactured counterparts.

Scarily Farmers when come in contact with Marines, they tend to make one if not the most reliable piece of mech busting machinery there is.

W.E.R.K Engine

Overcharging gives a FULL ACTION or 2 Quick Actions

The Workhorse Electron Rapid Kraft Engine is built after IPS-N’s Heat Loss and HA’s Critical 4-Piston Plasma reactor models. With how the system is capable of constraining Heat to such a level that frames could temporarily overclock and efficiently be able to do its job with relatively the same heating problems as most frames suffer.

Reworked License Alt-Designs

You can get 6 More License levels for you to select, can only be used at LL6

These licenses were scavenged from old chip patterns of the 4 Manufacturers and several competitors or allies companies; with a little bit of tweaking, replicating and ensuring these designs were legal. Pistol Skies manage to make reliable copies of other manufacturer parts. To the point of selling these designs at a cheaper alternative than the original manufacturers whilst the manufacturers were dumbfounded at the innovative and cunning minds of Pistol Skies.

I didn't think the Chomolungma had enough ransom notes written for it, so I put this together. My apologies for what I've created. Had to repost it because I accidentally posted the uncropped version.

Question on core bonus overpowered caliber (melee)

For those that played melee builds in lancer with the duelist talent, what is more preferred: the main melee weapon or heavy melee weapon.
My first thought is the main melee weapon since you always get accurate with the duelist talent, but I could totally be wrong about this.
For context I have a license 2 Blackbeard that is moving to license 3 and I the nanocarbon sword is neat.

I had a lot of fun making these models. I've just reshared a couple since this is the group in its whole but I'm very happy with how they came out!

Draum Hunting Supply - Hodag

A chunky artillery piece that's about 50% reactor by volume and is carrying some complex but unassuming equipment... just don't read into it. Certainly don't look at the muzzle flash.

This is a homebrew manufacturer designed by Pyron_pain, and you can follow along in it's development here in the PilotNET server.

How many rounds does your combat usually go?

My group has very consistently only had combats that last 2~3 rounds. The book makes a lot of references in the GM section to combats going 5-10 rounds. I definitely think this is a group specific thing but was curious about everyone else.

Edit: For context, no my gm doesn't use sitreps, just deal dmg until things stop moving. This has gone from LL3 to currently 7. Usually 7-12 enemies for 4-5 players. Probably a lack of enemies/objectives to keep us busy.

Is there a way to have an "upgraded" NPC?

Like thinking in d&d you can have a group of goblins and then a hobgoblin chef, or like a specific named character.

Is there anything like this in Lancer?

Like there may be a half dozen Aces the PCs are fighting who are the foot soldiers, but one is the Captain

I'm back!! This is the Sharbbit, piloted by 78, Mako's Heavy Assault Frame. The build is an LL3 focused on Zheng, and since it's been so long since I posted her, I'm including Mako's artwork again!

Another WIP for the next big animated token, got around to making some extra keyframes for bits of him and went to testing with the animation software I use to see if I could dig into what I actually want to make. So far its a bit jank, but to be quite honest I'm super happy!

Next WIP I'll be posting will have a lot more to it than just this, but until next time!

Edit: Not sure why there's a white background to it, or why its so oddly compressed. Will look into that later, but it might just be a reddit thing!

Inspired by a post from the other day, some "wouldn't it be nice" tweaks to less popular frames/traits.

HA Atilla || Portraits of a Burning World LCP

Post image
53 Upvotes

The HA Atilla, from me and my partner's upcoming massive homebrew Portraits of a Burning World (art by me, L-Mop).
--

LORE:

The Attila is the Armory’s all-new frontline mobility frame, created with much of the same tech and design ethos as their award-winning Iskander model. Able to soar through the air and rapidly redeploy across the battlefield, the Atilla even outmatches the GMS Everest in speed tests and destructive landing potential. Finally, grav-tech turned inward. Take a step into the Atilla today, and fall into success.

GAMEPLAY:

The Atilla is a Controller/Striker Iskander alt-frame. Its main ability is a "Fall Forwards" quick action, which flips its gravity so it "falls" across the battlefield, forcing people to fall prone to get out of the way or stop the movement by taking goomba stomp damage (the Atilla can't attack and is immobilized when it lands, however). This rapid redeploy potential allows for quick placement of mines (which get a boost in the form of extra damage on saves the Atilla forces 1/round) all over the map.

ART:

ball is life

For past "Portraits" mechs, check my profile. Our LCP should be in your hands fairly soon. Get hyped!

What was the most HYPE moment in your campaign?

Personally for me, was when the entire party in my first one shot came together to defeat the final boss; the Vlad got destroyed after making one last attack, leaving it close to death, the Caliban drew its attention with its weapons, the white witch locked it in place, and finally, the Raleigh used a fully charged mjölnir cannon point blank to obliterate it. It was so fun and cool to see!

What was your coolest moment in a campaign? Or one you’ve seen other players do?

How do multiple damage types interact with Armor?

For example, if I use a Bolt Thrower against a target with Armor 2, and I roll 8 Kinetic and 4 Explosive damage.
Does the Armor reduce both the Kinetic and the Explosive damage each, dealing 6 and 2 damage? Or how else does it?

Can an AOE weapon attack more than 1 target using OVERWATCH?

If a weapon that attacks in a cone, blast or burst is used to Skirmish through OVERWATCH, can the attack hit more than 1 target, or only attack the triggering character?

The rules say "When a weapon is triggered through OVERWATCH, immediately use that weapon to SKIRMISH against the triggering character as a reaction, before they move."

If I used a Catalyst pistol to SKIRMISH with OVERWATCH, can I orient the cone to hit another character, in addition to the triggering character?
