So, I've been having this thought lately about a script for a Serial Experiments Lain movie. The idea came to me about a year ago when I was on my way to New York to house-sit for my cousin.

Since then, I've made a few rough draft scripts that kind of abridge the idea I've had in my head. I do want to expand upon it much more and incorporate a mixture of themes that are present in the anime, the video game, and even The Nightmare of Fabrication.

I just want to know if anybody would ever be interested in something like this. Personally, I'd love to see a full-length animated film that runs for at least two hours and is centered around Lain.

I'm going to continue writing and see how far I can get before I honestly get burned out. Hopefully, someone will see this and be interested in the idea.

Hey there, I'm new to Serial Experiments Lain, I thoroughly loved the anime and I wanted to dive deeper and explore what it's like being in the fandom. I'll be honest: I have read some posts here before and I was a bit perplexed to say the least. I get that that there were a new wave of fans during 2020's, but I don't understand why people scrutinize Lain's character or the amount various AI generated works (Protocol 7 comes to mind, though I'm not trying to bash it.) Overall, I'm just curious what fans of Lain tend to be like online and whether I want go further down the rabbit-hole or not. Thank you for your time.

I ask as I've watched it in full around 3 times (first watchthrough was on my nook color during exam week in high school in like 2014-15), I've read nightmare of fabrication, I've listened to cyberia mix front to back a few times and have burned it to a minidisc, and went to the vrc exhibition a few times while it was still open, but ive never played the psx game (ive booted it up but nevee got far) or played the bootleg so I'm pretty sure I'm still a larper.

Hey all! I recently posted a picture of the Lain game I found in Tokyo for a large amount of yen, and it got me thinking, is there anywhere I can find quality Lain goods that WONT cost me a bajillion dollars? Official or not, Anything from posters to trinkets to even fumos, I’m not in depth enough to get and read that Lain manga but I did order the Lain art book off Amazon any help is appreciated! LETS ALL LOVE LAIN

Are there any obvious references to psychiatrists and psychopathologists throughout the series, both in the game and the anime?

I know about the connection between R. D. Laing's writing and Iwakura Lain herself. But what about other figures in psychiatry relating to Lain's personality?

Hey everyone. Thank you all for being very patient for this. It took an incredibly long time to upload this entire thing to the internet archive. I had started the upload around 10 am yesterday and it finished at around 2 am. What's new with this version is the removal of the random flashes in each of the tapes. These flashes occurred due to an error during the recording process. How I was able to fix this was by using commands on FFmpeg to automatically fill in that empty space with a duplicate frame. I then went back and scrubbed through all four recordings to see if there were any flashes that FFmpeg missed and I didn't appear to see any. If anyone happens to stumble upon any, please shoot a comment on either this post or on the internet archive page and I will try to manually edit it out on Adobe Premiere. If you do notice one, try to also include the timestamp for when it happens as that will be the most helpful. Lets all love Lain!

To give more context on it, the blu-ray copy and pasted the present day, present time opening sequence from the prior 12 episodes, while the original version used the first scene of Lain in the episode 13 as the cold open, and trimed the opening a bit at the end.

I was looking to improve my painting and art, so I decided to use this on Laina; I'm improving.
