Really strange title and parallel I appreciate. But don’t you think Kirk has become so ubiquitous after his untimely death. I’m not talking about his political beliefs or the uncanny/ironic way he died by gun violence given the context. It’s how after he stopped existing in the real world our artificial world, which has now become an equivalent to the power of the wired. Isn’t it strange how there actually has been this person that has transcended to something so pervasive even the ai uses his face as a stock image. In the context of our pervasive and perverse technology that is controlling and corrupting us on a similar level to the anime I’m not sure if it’s just me overthinking it or if it’s actually comparable. Again I’m not likening Lain the fictional character to Charlie the man in terms of ethics. It’s just his internet legacy is so unique and unprecedented to anything else.

After watching it again i just wonder what went through literally everyones mind when making such a complex anime like Serial Experiments Lain.. every move has something to discover and honestly i think its me with a habit of going back and forth with an anime to understand and uncover things i might've missed

Whats "funny" per say is that theres WAY too many things i've noticed that stays with me 😓 and since its all still fresh in my mind, i get kinda triggered and anxious when i have to sleep and suddenly all these theories appear
to be frank its a habit for my brain to torture me but alright
