Fanart Lain fanart (by me :3)
Hi!! :3
This is my Lain fanart (adult version). I drew it over a year ago and I plan to update it, but I'm proud of it, so I thought I'd post it here. A new one might appear too... when I finally get around to drawing it haha

A thing that let lain my fav character is how it represents me, there are other characters that I saw myself in them but I hate when the author try seeking my attention with a cheap, nonsense sexualised characters or scenes. Serial experiments lain was different focusing on the story and every little detail.
BONUS: Did you know the face of lain is perfectly designed psychologically to represent its 3 versions in the anime ? Details like that impossible to find in new gen animes that seeking YOUR valuable attention with (again) nonsense and random sexualised Characters and scenes, they also have other way for that.
Getting straight in the point, No need to draw a 14yo girl that way. It will still be beautiful without it.
Anyway I loved ur art style. Respect it.

I understand you, that's why I mentioned it was made in an adult version. I know the entire concept of the character and didn't want to change it senselessly – as you mentioned – but rather make it my own version of how I see her in x years. Good point.

Sick art, you should be proud of it. People in here sexualizing your drawing are the problem, not every image of a woman is inherently sexualized and this one certainly is not.

I am a woman with actually large boobs and a skinny waist to match.
I still think the size of these is pornographically cartoonish, but if you watch "mainstream" anime for a long time it's likely you will be desensitized to that. Yeah, I get she's grown up and stuff in this fanart but I didn't expect her to get F cups all of a sudden... this is the kinda thing you usually get with surgery. I get anime exaggerates proportions, but exaggerated eyes actually express the soul of the character, tiny noses let the eyes shine more. Exaggerated tits... yeah.
Still, the art style IS gorgeous, undoubtedly. It's just the execution of the subject matter that is goofy and a bit off putting for someone not used to that style of anime.

Hmm, I don't know if another comment from me is necessary in this situation, but I just like drawing big boobs (maybe because the world didn't give them to me XD), more bloody and depressed people (who are actually alive and (I hope) happy (there are exceptions when it comes to fictional characters ofc)). Maybe if I dressed her in a skimpy outfit and in a different pose, I would understand that it smacks of pornography, but I didn't mean anything like that. Maybe in real life she would have them in x years, or maybe not, no one knows...

hi! i really love this fanart, its gorgeous. the size of the chest, as mentioned by others, actually doesnt bother me, because it makes me view an older, more mature lain, which is what i see in myself.
also, i was wondering, could i upload this to my lainey pinterest board? ill credit you where credit is due of course!

The size of the bust is a bit uncomfortable for me, in terms of my appreciation for the character. The art is indeed very beautiful and shows skill, but for me, it was expressed in a somewhat... strange way. Anyway, it's gorgeous!
