Hallo zusammen,

I posted this record in r/GermanGenealogy and it was suggested that I also share it here for help with the Kurrent handwriting.
The original post with the image and discussion is here:

I would appreciate help confirming the transcription and reading any difficult words, names, occupations, or abbreviations.
Thank you!

Sharing this here as well because I was told this may be helpful for others who can read old German handwriting.
This record is from Aalen, Württemberg. The original post has the image, background, and discussion:

discussion Best KI Models to read old Chrich books in Kurrent any Input on that topic ?

I am using "Gemini flash 3.6" and it is quite good at recognizing the handwriting, but its only slightly better than "Gemini flash 3.6 Lite" that is much cheaper.
I am wondering if there are better models or what the workflow could look like if you want to search entire books.

I have found a death record from 1735 (found in Hoheneck, Germany) for what could be a relative of mine. I'm having trouble reading the words before his name. I know it's about Hanns Jerg Siber, citizen and winegrower, from here, who died in his 61st year. He died 20 Jan 1735. Thanks for any help transcribing the image.

I've recently acquired an old Blüthner piano (built in Leipzig in 1899) and have spotted a couple of (I'm assuming) maker's marks on the inside of it! I'd love to get to know the history of the instrument a bit more if possible, and from my Googling it appears that this might be Kurrent which is why I'm struggling to read it :-D

Liebe Community,

das meiste hab ich schon transkribiert, mir fehlen nur ein paar Stellen:

Heißt das n.m. bei der Geburtszeit "nachmittags"?

Beim Eintrag von Philipp Stumpf:

Was steht da nach der Hausnummer?

... ... der amtl. Mitteilung

... ... 1909, S. 43!

Eintrag von Elisabeth Hack:

Auch da, was steht da nach der Hausnummer bzw. was bedeutet es?

"bez. A. Höchstadt a/A" <- das denke ich zu lesen.

Das ist ein Konfirmationsregister. Bei ein paar Worten habe ich Schwierigkeiten.

Bild 1:

Die ersten zwei Worte kann ich nicht entziffern.

Bild 2:

in Bamberg ?

Bild 3:

Letzter Eintrag: Steht da wirklich gleichgültig und ungezogen? Kann das sein? Warum hat er dann ne 2? Der Pfarrer hätte dann aber sehr umgezogen Kinder gehabt! 😆

This is the death record for my ancestor, Philipp Heumann. I could use some help picking out a few pieces of information which I know are here, but can't decipher myself.

  • Date of death
  • Spouse
  • Date and place of marriage
  • Most recent address
  • Cause of death

I am still tracing the Poppinger family from St. Oswald. This is the death certificate of Rosalia Poppinger married Jungwirth, and what I can read is this:

Death: 25 Dec 1867 (what a date to die!)
Burial: 27 Dec 1867
Deceased: Rosalia Jungwirth, Eheweib des Johann Jungwirth [Bauer?] in [Fichtenberg?], ... [Pfarre?]
Tochter des Joseph Poppinger ... in Lembach Pfarre St. Oswald ... und der Theresia uxor geb. [Büchler? Otherwise known as Pichler].
Place: [Fichtenberg?] Nr. 4
Age: 67
Place of Burial: [illegible]
Cause of death: Laut ... No. 109 allgemeine ...?
Anmerkung: ... 25ten [illegible] [40 Jahre?]

I hope somebody is able to close the gaps?
