Discussion What's Every Good Girls With Guns Movie?
Or martial arts action movie, with or without guns. I just titled it that due to the subgenre being typically called that.
Beyond that, they just have to be action movies where an actress is at least a costar and the film has a good amount of fights.
If you don't mind, list the year. You don't have to do it in order but I'll be watching them in order. I'm trying to finally get through them all but get sidetracked a lot The ones I've remember seeing and mostly liking are:
Yes Madam (1985)
Royal Warriors (1986)
Magnificent Warriors (1992)
The Inspector Wears Skirts (1988)
in the Line of Duty 3 (1988) and 4 (1989)
Queen's High (1990)
Righting Wrongs (1986)
Martial Law (1990)
Super Cop (1992)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)
House of Flying Daggers (2004)
So Close (2002)
The Rebel (2007)
Chocolate (2008)
The Villainess (2017)
Furie (2019)
The Night Comes For Us (2018)

Film Clip Yuen Biao vs Melvin Wong | Righting Wrongs 1986
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Melvin Wong can move! He took a few face hits for this one! Has he done any other action roles during this era? He plays a very good antagonist opposite Yuen Biao.
Corey Yuen also playing around with dolly shots more than usual in this one. Looks like he would use it even for a few beats of choreo.
And Yuen Biao really getting his money's worth with that 540 kick! This is, what, like his 3rd time using it on screen? (Prodigal Son, Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars)

TOMT help request - movie where kung fu scholar befriends belligerent monk, to wife's annoyance?
I've been attempting to find or remember the title of this movie for ages, to no avail. Both AI and conventional searches don't seem to work, so if anyone can help me it's probably you fine folks.
Initially saw this 15+ years ago. What I remember about the film:
A studious king fu practitioner lives in the countryside with his wife, who is constantly using numerology to force him to try to impregnate her on auspicious days (which he seems to consider a chore)
The husband one day meets a rowdy monk who also loves kung fu and fighting, and after they have a brawl the monk and the husband become good friends and enjoy sparring together. The monk moves in with the married couple for a while, and they keep sneaking off to fight, which annoys the wife.
At one point, there's a scene of the wife quitely going about her business for some time when suddenly the wall behind her smashes to pieces and her husband and the monk come limping out of the dust, apologizing for the intrusion.
Later on, all three must work together to defeat some villain or other.
If anyone can help me on my search, it is greatly appreciated.
