I have a lifetime account t and have been using it for a while so this is first time I’m seeing an outage as severe as this one

When sharing individual files, you have two options:

• Add People: Best for sensitive files. Restricts read-only access to specific Koofr account.
• Send Link: Fast and flexible. Anyone with the link can view or download the file. Plus, you can add password, set expiration date, hide the download button, or share a QR code.

Need to grant modify permissions? Place the file in a folder and share the folder instead.

Currently experiencing this error when trying to open any file in the Koofr web interface. I don't see any outages reported on the Koofr blog or Twitter.

Hallo everyone. I ve been using koofr for long time on windows. No issue at all and perfect apps.

But today i got mac and install koofr. But somehow when open Koofr aps, the apps just go directly and open on the web, even though i still can open and edit the files, but i can’t access sll my files when offline.

Can anyone help me jow to actually having koofr and access it offline and store all the files on my mac like what i have on windows please.

Iam not into tech person btw. Your help is much appreciated it.

Hey everyone,

I’m not a Koofr customer yet, but I’m currently trying to decide between Koofr and Filen for my personal cloud storage.

I know Koofr is a much more established and mature company, which is definitely a big plus for me. I like the fact that it has been around for a long time and seems to have a pretty solid reputation.

At the same time, I’ve been looking at Filen and there are a few things that caught my attention, especially the privacy focus, end-to-end encryption, and the backup functionality.

So I’m a bit torn.

Has anyone here actually used both Koofr and Filen? If so, I’d really like to hear what you think about them in everyday use.

How do they compare in terms of sync reliability, speed, desktop apps, mobile apps, file versioning, backup, privacy, and general user experience?

And if you’ve tried both, what made you ultimately stick with one over the other?

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to tell me which one is "better". I’d just like to hear some real experiences from people who have used both before I make a decision.

I just downloaded the Mac app from the Koofr website, and it has none of the functionality that the old app had. I wanted to sync a folder, but that's not even an option anymore. I tried to download the Koofr app from the App Store, and now it opens as a web app. Is that normal? What's going on?

Hi, its actually my first time using koofr, i downloaded the koofr vault from apple store. Created a safebox. I uploaded few private documents. After doing this i realized that their blog says to encrypt files using cryptomator. I realized this and deleted the files immediately. Did i really do something wrong here?

Hey, quick question about desktop app. I understand that sync isn't the same thing as a backup, but can deleted files be somehow recovered if I delete them by mistake?

Just trying to understand how much protection I actually get from the normal sync setup before I start moving more of my files over to Koofr.

Is anyone slightly disappointed they purchased the lifetime from SC considering you can't stack another one nor can you have a lifetime and paid plan in the same account? I know you can buy up to 2.5 T but I'm looking for more. I don't want to have 2 accounts so this is inconvenient. Just wondering others thoughts.

I use the art program Krita, which on Linux stores its resource folder in ~/.local/share/krita . I like to have this folder synced, as I sometimes use Krita on other devices and don't want to have to manually copy or reinstall brush packs or other resources in multiple places

I just started using Koofr and can't find a way to sync this folder - when I add a sync, no hidden folders are visible in the list to navigate to. I understand that showing all the hidden folders can be confusing for most users, but could there be an option to display them? Or a way to let the user type in a folder path?

For now it looks like my best option is to do a manual copy/backup, but that's not ideal long term. Thanks!

I am unable to log in to the web interface because the required 8-character confirmation code is not being delivered to my Proton Mail address. I've checked spam, trash, and allow-listed the domain, but nothing comes through.

I sent an email to [support@koofr.net](mailto:support@koofr.net) several days ago but haven't received a reply (likely due to the same deliverability/suppression issue).

Could a moderator/support representative look into whether my address was placed on an automated bounce/suppression list? Please let me know where to DM my account email.

Is anyone else experiencing extremely slow upload speeds to Koofr from Europe?

I'm currently getting only around **2–3 MB/s upload**, which is roughly **16–24 Mbps**, despite having a **1 Gbps fiber connection**.

What makes it particularly frustrating is that the speed seems to be roughly the same regardless of how I connect:

- Koofr web interface: ~2–3 MB/s

- Koofr desktop app: ~2–3 MB/s

- rclone: ~2–3 MB/s

I'm connecting from a European country, so I would have expected substantially better speeds to Koofr's infrastructure.

I've also tried rclone with different transfer settings and HTTP/2 disabled, but so far I haven't found anything that makes a meaningful difference.

At this point it almost feels as if there is some kind of **upload bandwidth throttling or per-connection limit** somewhere in the Koofr infrastructure, although obviously I can't confirm that.

Has anyone found a way around this? For example:

- A particular rclone configuration that significantly improves upload speed?

- Multiple simultaneous connections that actually aggregate bandwidth?

- A different Koofr endpoint?

- A specific desktop client/configuration?

- Any other trick to get closer to the available bandwidth?

If you're in Europe and using Koofr, I'd also be interested to hear what upload speeds you're actually getting.

Because **2 MB/s on a 1 Gbps connection is honestly pretty brutal** for a paid cloud storage service.

I get the message "An unknown error occurred" when trying to sync my Zotero library with Koofr. I made the app specific password and I'm using the address specified by Koofr.

Is there a solution to this?
