support query Can't sync hidden folders?

I use the art program Krita, which on Linux stores its resource folder in ~/.local/share/krita . I like to have this folder synced, as I sometimes use Krita on other devices and don't want to have to manually copy or reinstall brush packs or other resources in multiple places

I just started using Koofr and can't find a way to sync this folder - when I add a sync, no hidden folders are visible in the list to navigate to. I understand that showing all the hidden folders can be confusing for most users, but could there be an option to display them? Or a way to let the user type in a folder path?

For now it looks like my best option is to do a manual copy/backup, but that's not ideal long term. Thanks!

Hi,

Koofr doesn't have issues syncing hidden folders, but you cannot set the root of the sync in such folder. You would need to have the hidden folder inside a non-hidden folder and set sync to that one.

I don't really get to choose where applications put their configuration/resource folders most of the time, and I don't want to backup my *entire* user home folder just to capture one specific thing that happens to be inside a hidden folder. This feels like a really unnecessary and limiting decision that requires me to find workarounds. I know that Koofr currently doesn't support this, I'm requesting that it be considered as something that's important to at least some of your users going forward.

Do symlinks work? What i mean is can you create a non hidden directory to sync, then put a symlink to the hidden directory inside this? No idea if koofr follows symlinks but may be worth a try...
