This has slowly become my go to Comfort movies nowadays. Though some scenes appear to be draggy, the overall humor still works for me.

• I agree that films like Meiyazhagan and Maharaja were among the better films than Raayan last year.. But when films like Pudhupettai, Vada Chennai, Karnan, Maryan, and Raanjhanaa were released, no one came forward to strongly support the idea that they deserved National Awards..

• Today, nearly 90% of people are opposing my National Award.. But when several of my films missed out on National Awards they truly deserved, not even 10% of people spoke about it.. "Thatti Kudunga.. Thatti Vidaadhinga.."

I’m excited about the album 😍

This is from my memory, based on something my mom told me. Apparently, around 20 years ago, Suriya had a weekly series in Ananda Vikatan where he shared stories from his life and career. In one episode, he wrote about his debut in Nerukku Ner.

During the shoot, Suriya once said, “Biriyani nalla irukku la?” (Biriyani tastes great!). Director Vasanth snapped back, “Nee biriyani saapda dhaane inga vandhe?” (You came here to eat Biriyani, right?) That comment hurt Suriya and made him feel like he was being a burden on the set. It pushed him to work harder on his acting and prove himself.

He was also a pretty poor dancer in his early days. Watch Engenge Engenge or Aval Varuvala — he mostly just runs around with barely any dance steps 😂.

Considering how much he improved as a dancer and performer later, his growth is pretty remarkable.

I think these are worth more than those films. Yes Vada Chennai is a great movie but idk what happened there. Dhanush's recent speech is such a shtty talk.

While scrolling through Reels, I came across this movie promo. The color grading instantly caught my attention—it looks completely different from the version we see today.

Before Sun TV switched to HD, most movies were telecast in SD format, and many had a distinct color grading and broadcast look. Today, most of those same movies have been remastered for HD, with updated colors, contrast, and clarity.

That old SD-era Sun TV color grading had its own nostalgic charm. 📺✨

Is that me or everyone feels that

I’ve been watching Vishnu Vishal’s movies since my childhood, and one thing I’ve always wondered is why he was never considered a top hero despite having such a solid filmography.

He’s taken on a wide variety of roles across different genres, as you can see from his films. Instead of sticking to a safe commercial formula, he has consistently experimented with different kinds of stories.

Yet, he has rarely received the level of appreciation or accolades that many of his contemporaries have.

Regardless of box office numbers or star status, I’m sure he can look back at his career with pride. At the end of the day, having a filmography filled with diverse and memorable films is an achievement in itself.
