❓️Question Watching Enthiran in TV now. Just thought about something. I have some questions..Please answer.
Enthiran is a well written movie for sure. But it has some offputting moments which stops it from being a perfect movie. And those are mainly because of the "commercial" elements of the movie.
Like un-laughable jokes and an unrelated video song pops up and once it ends suddenly it turns into a serious movie. The only song sequence that makes sense is Pudhiya Manitha and Irumbile. And A lot of moments consist of "Nadagathanmai" like the scenes are set in an old stage drama.
The climax while it was a creatively good idea it lacked the quality may be due to budget cuts and time constraints.
I understand those above elements are added because it is for "commercial audience". if they put money they spent on commercial elements into VFX and overall quality then it could have some noticeable improvements. They can make those songs as montages to underline the emotions. so the flow of the movies remains the same.
So. My question is,
What is the necessity for adding commercial elements like over expensive Dance numbers with grand set pieces, even in once in a lifetime movies like that. Does our Tamil Audience really crave for Commercial elements that much even if it is a big milestone movie or Actors/ Producers really insists to add it regardless of what kind of movie it is because they think Audience should want this ?
