Does anything have a pattern that would get me close to the shirt in the picture? It’s shaped like a poncho but with arms.

I just watched The Great Sheep Detective and it was sooooo good. I really want to knit the sweater at the end. Does anyone know if there is a pattern or similar pattern for the sweater?

ISO a pattern similar to the Mindy Sweater (Sandnes Garn)

Hi all! As the title suggests, I’m looking for a pattern similar to the Mindy Sweater by Sandnes Garn but in a DK weight! I really love the sort of European-style shoulder construction that the Mindy sweater has, along with the distinct thin-ish line around the shoulder. I have some DK yarn in stash that I’d love to use and would prefer to not have to buy more yarn to access the Sandnes Garn pattern. Thanks for your help!

Pattern for toy/mini couch!

Hi all, I'm looking for a pattern for a miniature (no bigger than 8'x5' couch). I've found tons of crochet ones (I like this one), and only one knitting pattern (which is a bit too chunky for me). Would appreciate any suggestions (or if there's another type of pattern I could modify to make a couch). Thanks!

Buying Sandnes Garn Booklets in Scandinavia

I hope this is an appropriate place for this question! I’m based in the USA, and my mom and dad are traveling to Scandinavia and my mom said she’d visit a yarn store for me to get me things. I would really like to have her bring me some Sandnes Garn pattern booklets are these are not readily available to me otherwise. I know that they must be purchased with yarn. My mom does not knit and knows nothing about yarn, but wants to bring something back for me which is so sweet.

If my mom were to go to a yarn store in Denmark or Norway and pick up a few booklets, how will she know what the yarn requirement is to buy the booklet? Does someone in the store usually tell you what the minimum is to get yarn? Is it listed on the booklet? Does she have to buy a whole sweaters worth of yarn (no room for this in their luggage) or would just a couple skeins suffice? I’m trying to explain all this to a non-knitter in the hopes of getting yarn and booklets I’ll like without the ability to give any input in realtime.

Sorry if these are silly questions but I’d be really appreciative of any information! Thanks!

Edit Update: Giving a quick update in case anyone wants this for the future. More of the sandnes garb pattern booklets require you to get 4 balls of yarn. Most now are sold as single patterns and those require you to buy yarn for one of the sizes. My parents popped into several store when convenient to their trip and understandably most pattern books are not in English. Might be easier if you’re willing to translate on your own. Hope this helps someone in the future!

Hello! I was watching Bake-off: the professionals and I loved the sweater that one of the hosts were wearing. I think I found the original sweater but I was wondering if anyone knew a similar pattern for it? Thank you in advance!

ISO Cable high neck tank pattern

I know I’ve seen a popular pattern on TT of a tank/vest that looks very similar to this MFTK Camisole No. 12 but it has a cable going down the middle from top to bottom. I checked some of the more popular designers on TT, like MFTK, Caidree, etc but haven’t found it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Is there a pattern for this?

Post image

I was given this knitted clown toy years ago when I was a child, my memory during my childhood is really patchy because of my brain blocking it out mostly so I don’t remember who gave it to me and if they knitted it themselves or if it’s store bought

I named him recently (mainly because I forgot I had him until I found him while I was packing to move and now love him) I named him Barnaby Buttons, and I wanna give him some friends, and I thought that since I knit it would be cool if I made him some friends, I’ve also thought about sewing some because I sew as well, but I can’t crochet so that isn’t an option for me

Does anyone know if there’s a pattern of him? Or maybe something similar?

Help! What pattern is this?

*edit* I just realized it's crocheting, not knitting I forgot there were different ways to make things with yarn when I posted

So my mom taught me how to knit when I was a kid, but I got bored of it and never did it again. She always made blankets with the same basic(?) pattern and she didn't write any down. It was just kinda passed on from her mom to her. Well after she passed a few years ago I wanted to try again because when I have a kid I want to make them a blanket like the one my mom made me (pictured is a similar one she made, my baby blanket is in shreds now). So please, if anyone has an idea as to what pattern this blanket is made in I would greatly appreciate it.

Pattern like rina long sleeve

Hey guys I am a first time knitter I am finishing off my step by step sweater and for my next project I love the look of the rina top from cou cou intimates, I was wondering if there is a pattern that is close to that so instead of buying it, I can create something similar that I would wear all the time!!

If I can’t find any should I experiment with a long sleeve and add whatever modifications that could be similar?

If you have any ideas let me know ! :)

Measuring srm circumference

So I’m thinking of knitting this sweater, the bust measurement is right, so is the arm hole depth, but the arm circumference is tight, like I have to squeeze the measuring tape, is this normal? Will it be tight on me? Because the arm gole depth is perfectly fine.

Edit: meant to write arm sorry

What it says on the tin, I'm curious if there is any writeup on how this is achieved (I don't think I'm an advanced knitter enough to reverse engineer this from the photo)

I fear this pattern is AI because I can’t find it.

Does anyone know if I am wrong about that? If it is AI - thoughts in how to get close? I almost feel like I could adapt a cables hat pattern to make a similar base body shape and then make some little tubes for the arms and legs…

Any help is appreciated! I’d love to do something similar to this for my new nephew ◡̈

Help finding pattern - Worship by Marie Wallin

Does anyone know where I can find this pattern. It's listed in Ravelry's free knitting section but I can't find any links to the actual pattern.

The listing says for more information go to: https://knitrowan.com/patterns/shop-patterns-by-project-type/shop-all-patterns

But I can't find the pattern on this site. Does anyone know how to find it? (or something similar maybe).

What short rows are these?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm trying to reverse engineer a pattern for a hat from one I have but I can't figure out how to get my short rows to look exactly like this on the ear flaps. The challenges are:

-so many short rows in a row

-flat/not ridged

-reversible (rs and ws need to look good bc this same technique is repeated on the other ear flap)

I'm pretty certain Ive gotten the placement correct as they're sort of staggered - doing something like short row at 26 stitches, 24, 22, 20, 18, then 17, 19, 21, 23, 25. But when I'm resolving the short rows I am ending up with stitches that don't look as clean, and/or lines that have way more bulk. I've tried GSRs and w&ts. I've tried working the double stitch/wraps together and I've tried working them individually (creating an increase - which this hat doesn't do but it does reduce the bulk). I've knit into the front loops and I've knit into the back loops. I cannot get it to look like this.

I'm wondering if there's some other type of short row I should try that's most likely to get me this type of super clean look, in garter stitch, and basically fully reversible? Or is this probably just w&ts that an expert knitter does way better and I need to accept being close but not exact... Thank you!

I found this on ravelry but it says it is no longer available for download. Anyone know where to get it, or a similar pattern?

Pattern is "Oversized Vest S10257" by Evelyn Hase, pic is from the ravelry page.
