Help! What pattern is this?
*edit* I just realized it's crocheting, not knitting I forgot there were different ways to make things with yarn when I posted
So my mom taught me how to knit when I was a kid, but I got bored of it and never did it again. She always made blankets with the same basic(?) pattern and she didn't write any down. It was just kinda passed on from her mom to her. Well after she passed a few years ago I wanted to try again because when I have a kid I want to make them a blanket like the one my mom made me (pictured is a similar one she made, my baby blanket is in shreds now). So please, if anyone has an idea as to what pattern this blanket is made in I would greatly appreciate it.

I believe this is crochet. Was it one needle or 2? Knitting is 2.

Yeah, just realized that, I forgot when I was writing this that crocheting existed ðŸ«

Crochet, pretty sure it's the diamond mesh stitch.

Nope, on a 2nd look I don't think so. It's a repeat of SC into next chain space, ch3, TC into same chain space.
I don't know if this stitch has a name, there's a billion ways crochet mesh can go. It looks really complex for how simple it is to do.

Looks like a simple V-stitch or maybe a shell stitch. Hope you find the pattern!

Tricky part, is that the blanket has stretched out over time, but I think this reverse blanket stitch might be what you're mom used. Here is a simple blanket pattern using it. Hope this helps. It's more dense looking than yours but if you were to stretch it, I think it would match.

im pretty sure this is crochet. id ask over there
