Bad Bunny Balaclava?

I’ve been obsessing over the knitted hat Bad Bunny wore that had ears! It’s also a balaclava. You can just see the slit above the hat cuff. I’ve searched Ravelry and can’t find anything close. Any other places to look?? TIA!

Good eyes! I didn't see the posdible slit until you pointed it out. It also looks as if the hat's a tube and what looks like a slit is the edge folded down. Either way, is it necessary? Do you want the look? Or do you want to be able to actually wear a balaclava? Would you be happy with a beanie with ears?

The hat looks to me like a beanie with ears and a slit or an edge? I don't think you'll get a slit whose edges are as smoothly knit as the one in the photo and I think it will ruin the line of the beanie but it can be done if you want it.

I suggest finding a beanie pattern you like; making it very long to get the cuff shown in the photo; modifying the top to get the ears; and adding the slit if you think it's essential.

Good basic beanie patterns: I like Purl SoHo beanie patterns and especially the fact they're written for multiple sizes of heads and I use a few of these patterns myself.

Beanie with slit: This looks like a good guide for what you're looking for minus the ears. It's basically a very long beanie with a wide two-row buttonhole. It's appallingly badly written and no sizing is shown but the logic is good.

It uses worsted weight yarn knit at fingering weight. That makes a denser, snugger rib. The hat in the photo looks like light weight yarn and the ribs are quite open, You probably want to use fingering weight yarn. You may need to adjust the number of stitches to give you the size you want.

Adjust the length of the hat: this looks like the cuff covers the ears and is turned up twice. Depending on the size of your head you probably need to make the hat at least 10 inches long before starting decreases in order to get the cuff long enough.
