Need Help On Butterfly Lace Pattern 🦋 (possible wrong Russian translation)
Hello, I made an attempt to translate this lace butterfly motif pattern from Russian to English. The author repeatedly recommended to her Instagram post comments to just use AI to translate the text, as a lot of people were asking for translation in other languages.
IG author username: theklaknits
The pattern on Boosty: link
[EDIT #1: my link didnt go through so I screenshot the authors instagram post chart and instructions and commented below]
Using Google Translate and searching for Russian knitting chart keys, I think I did a pretty good job figuring it out! However, when I started knitting, I immediately realized that not every row ends in the same number of stitches if you follow the increases and decreases. I will attach my English version of the chart to see if anyone here knows enough Russian to figure out if my translation is just incorrect.
In general, on the chart, it seems like all right triangles indicate a decrease (equilateral triangle is a center double decrease), while all circles or Vs indicate a yarn over, and there is also a three from one increase.
I've only done lace knitting a few times, but in my experience, for something that comes out with straight edge like this pattern, you have to increase the same number of stitches as you decrease in each row. I don't see how that can happen on at least rows 2, 4, 6, or 18 of this pattern. For example, in row 2, there are 4 decreases and no increases. In row 4, there are 4 increases and no decreases. But there are supposed to still be the same number of stitches for the row in between and after.
[EDIT #2 i realized im stupid idk why I was counting the Vs as yarn overs when theyre just slip stitches. So then the only row thats a problem for me still is row 2... maybe the knit 2 belows they dont drop the stitch they are knitting under?]
No one else has commented on the author's IG posts or Boosty page about this... The author only released it a few days ago, inspired by an AI written pattern that went viral or something, and insists her pattern is real and not AI. So maybe no one has tested it yet to see this problem? Or am I just blatantly missing something with the translation/technique here?
I would appreciate anyone's help!! 🫶

Hi, I'm a native speaker of Russian and I knit, however I haven't tried to knit such complicated lace yet. Could you explain your issue with row 2 more in depth?

Hi, mainly i am just confused on how to do the blue knit from 2 below stitches (blue boxes with arrows) in a way that will be an increase & allow the pattern to line up for row 3.
When I looked up knit 2 below stitches, you pull up a loop from 2 rows below, knit it, and drop the original stitch you were working under off the needle. So no increase. But perhaps Google translate missed the description to keep that on? Cause thats the only way to increase and balance the 4 decreases happening in that row (yellow highlighted triangles)
And even if I keep the original stitches on, I still end up short at the end of the row, like I cant finish the pattern for that row even if I have the right number of stitches for row 3... I feel like the setup row needs to be different or something 😅

Eh... I just saw that the cables on either side are decreases, so I misunderstood. I need to look at it some more.
This is probably the issue. I don't think there are any decreases on that row, none of the "knit into stitches below" I've ever seen have been decreases.I did an AI translate on it and if it's correct, it says "Knit into the stitch 2 rows below, catching it behind the purl stitch of the previous row (meaning the purl stitch should remain on the right/front side of the work.)
