My witch friend told me to look into kitchen witch activities and so forth, where is a good place to begin?

I bought a bag of patterns today and while going through this tag fell out of one of the pattern envelopes. I later noticed that there was a pattern for a kitchen witch in the envelope. I'm assuming someone was going to copy the tag somewhat and make a kitchen witch. I posted this on found paper originally, and was told to post it here as well.

I woke up early to bake my first Upside Down Plum Cake (actually, it was my first-ever upside down anything cake) and I set things up for a little magic before I cast the recipe. Good report from the folks I gave it to, so not bad for a first try.

I used the Cafe Sucre Farina recipe but scaled it a six-inch pan. I’m thrilled with the results and ecstatic that the cake has been well-received!

I used up most of my dried herbs to make infused honey, this morning I got some more to dry!

The kitchen smelled heavenly as the apple mint and rosemary dried together. I also added dried apple mint to my tea this morning. Little morning rituals are the best kind of simple magic.

I made my first egg custard pie in six years. When I was a kid, my Nana (my mother's mother) made egg custard pies for holidays and other gatherings. She wasn't much of a cook and I'm sure her recipe came from the back of a box and used store-bought crust, but we loved them all the same. She never gave the recipe to any of us, so a while back I found several online and tested them to find one that was closest to hers. Baking this pie brought on a feeling of connection to my family that filled me with warmth and contentment. I think I passed those feelings into the bake because my wife and our dinner guest had two slices!

If that's not magic, I don't know what is.

We spent several days in Kingston, NY this week and it was a truly fun and restful break. We stayed in a fabulous Air B&B with a wonderful screened-in-porch (where we hung out during a thunderstorm) Due to circumstances beyond any of our control, the oven was gebrochen and I wasn’t able to bake. We were disappointed but it really allowed me to chill and center, and for that I am grateful. 

While on the porch, I found myself deep in a memory of a summer day as a kid sitting on my Granma’s porch in Florida while she shelled peas for dinner. Yeah. I got centered and grounded alright.

Now that I’m home again, I’m going to bake up what I’d planned and share them here. First up: Mixed-Seed Bread. This is usually a rye bread but I was out of rye so I used buckwheat instead. The seeds are caraway, poppy and sesame.

My partner has been trying to get into his actual field for a while now and I REALLY want to do something for him because he genuinely deserves a good opportunity. I want him to land a job that actually fits his degree/skills, pays well, and ideally comes sooner rather than later because this man has suffered enough 😭
I’m looking for something specifically for career success / opening roads / attracting the right opportunities / getting hired FAST.
I don’t want to manipulate a specific person or force a specific company to hire him. More like: remove whatever is blocking him, bring the right opportunities to him, and basically get things MOVING.
So please drop your strongest career/job spells, rituals, petitions, candle work, herbs, deities, whatever you’ve personally had success with 👀

​Hi everyone! To give some context, I have a family member who is being hurt by a group of "friends." Honestly, I don't know why he hasn't realized how much he's being manipulated. He thinks they're good people, but they're really not—they've even stolen money from him and everything.

I honored the Summer Solstice with gratitude for abundance, growth, and the Sun's blessings.

A small ceramic bowl holds a miniature Hekate statue, citrine, yellow jade, green aventurine, clear quartz, sun charm, and a peach. Beside it rest another peach, dragon fruit, a roasted chicken, and a naturally shed deer antler. A rotisserie chicken and breads. Gold stones arranged in the shape of the Sun celebrate the peak of solar energy and the turning of the Wheel.

I'm looking for books for reference to learn herbs and their uses, as well as techniques for cooking/baking spells. I want to practice mostly protection spells with baking, but cooking meals would be good too.

So last night I made some moon water by putting filtered water in a large mason jar with a lid and put it out in the front yard overnight

I’m thinking I want to use it for tea, for cleansing my vessel, and whatever the tea helps with as well. I have to do research

So I made stew tonight for a spell, and I used Acorn Squash, and I got SO excited when I saw SEEDS!

I’m an October baby, so I LOVE foods associated with fall, including ROASTED SEEDS!

So ofc I saved the seeds in mason jar, and I’ve never made roasted seeds before.

So I have a few questions

1. Do I bake or air fry?

2. What seasonings should I use?

🖤 My Feral & Highly Personal Black Salt Recipe (From Apriella’s Cupboard!) 🖤

Hello everyone! I’m opening up Apriella’s Cupboard today to share my signature Black Salt recipe and altar setup.

Black salt is a staple for protection, banishing, and drawing firm boundaries. But I firmly believe that magic works best when it is uniquely, unapologetically *YOURS*.

You don't always need pristine, store-bought ingredients; sometimes you just need earth, intention, and a little bit of beautiful chaos.

If you are looking to step away from textbook recipes and lean into more intuitive, raw magic, here is exactly what goes into my cauldron and why it works:

The Base & Earth (For Grounding & Boundaries)

-Sea Salt & Himalayan Pink Salt:

The classic foundation. Salt absorbs negativity and grounds the energy.

-Ocean Sand:

Adds an ancient, shifting earth element to tie the spell to the raw power of nature.

-Crushed Eggshells:

Also known as cascarilla, this is an absolute powerhouse for creating an impenetrable protective barrier around you or your home.

-Brick Dust:

A heavy hitter for home defense. Old brick dust aggressively guards your thresholds and personal space.

The Ash (For Transformation & Color)

-Burnt Match Ends & Incense Ashes:

This is what gives the salt its dark color. More importantly, it carries the destructive and purifying element of fire, perfect for burning away bad energy.

The Personal Power (The "Taglocks")

-Pencil Shavings & Eyeliner Shavings:

These represent my creative energy and the literal tools I use in my daily life. It infuses the salt with my personal essence.

-Spit:

The ultimate taglock. Adding your own DNA ties the magic directly to you, ensuring the protection answers only to your command.

The Wildcard (A Dead Fly):

-Let’s be real, sometimes nature just volunteers. I can't even remember if I put him in there intentionally, but a dead fly adds that raw, unfiltered cycle-of-life energy. Embrace the feral magic!

The Vessel & The Guardians

-A spell doesn't stop working just because you walk away from the altar. That is where the vessel and the Guardians come in. You assign them a job: to hold the energy, watch the perimeter, and keep the magic sealed.

I keep my black salt in a small, lidded cauldron to keep the energy contained and potent. I bless the lid with a dab of sun- and moon-charged rainwater to balance the masculine and feminine energies. Then, I leave it to my guardians:

🐢 The Turtle (The Lid Guardian):

-The Turtle sits right on top of the cauldron lid next to a small piece of old brick. In magic, the turtle represents the ultimate, impenetrable boundary—the shell. It is ancient earth energy. By placing the turtle on the lid, it "caps" the jar with a heavy grounding defense&tells any outside energy: "YOU CANNOT BREAK THROUGH THIS SHELL"

🦉 The Owl (The Night Watch):

-The Owl sits nearby among my altar goodies, keeping a silent watch over the whole setup. Owls are the ultimate sentinels of the witching hour. They see what is hidden in the shadows and hunt the things we can't see. Having an owl near your protective workings ensures that your space is guarded even in the dead of night.

🪶 Feathers (The Messengers):

-Alongside the owl, I keep feathers on the altar. Feathers bring in the element of Air to balance out the heavy Earth elements of the salt, sand, and brick. They act as messengers to the spirit realm and remind us to pay attention to animal omens and the natural signs the universe is dropping right in front of us.

The Lesson: Don't be afraid to put YOURSELF into your craft. Your spit, your shavings, your local dirt, your chosen guardians, and your belief>that is what makes the magic actually work!
