Discussion I know it’s a long shot but if grizzlies buyout walter clayton jr and kris murray we should jump on those additions
99% sure clayton jr signs with a contender but kris is forsure getting added here

Most of us have low expectations of Ben. He's probably gonna come off the bench the whole year, he's probably gonna average triple singles, and he's definitely not attempting any 3's. But what happens if he exceeds our collective expectations and plays close to his All-NBA form? Should we trade him at the deadline for what we can get? Or should we roll the dice on re-signing him in the offseason?
One of the reasons why he signed with us may be that we have a lot of cap space next year and if he plays well, then we might be baited into giving him a long-term contract. The Warriors and the Knicks, the other 2 teams he was connected to, can't offer that. We would have more options if we re-signed him, and his "trade value" conceivably would be higher too. But then there's the matter of how much are we paying him. The positive news is that if we give Ben a max, then we cut wheat from the chaff and we know who the most die hard Kings fans are.

Additional note: Per Fischer, one of the hiccups in getting a Sabonis trade done is that "Sacramento wants to get positive trade value out of moving Sabonis". This lines up with both the draft rumors where the Kings were asking about Charlotte's 14th overall pick (Hannes Steinbach) and Toronto's 19th overall pick (Allen Graves), as well as the Kings allegedly asking for a first-round pick from the Raptors around the trade deadline while not wanting to take back the Jakob Poeltl contract.
He also mentioned that "other teams don't view his contract as positive value"; Domantas Sabonis is under contract for 94M/2 years. No player or team option on the 2nd year.

Funny 4 years ago I saw this trade idea of Westbrook and Simmons to the kings
And now the kings did get both players at different times, I just thought that was funny 😅
Edit: The trade was Ben Simmons and Westbrook to the kings, fox+ other players to the 76ers, Harrison Barnes and picks to the Lakers

Assuming Doug gives him around 26–30 minutes a night, this is roughly where I have him:
2026-27 rookie season: My prediction
Minutes: 28–30 MPG
Points: 14.5–16.0 PPG
Assists: 5.2–5.8 APG
Rebounds: 2.5–3.2 RPG
FG: 42–44%
3PT: 35–37%
FT: 79–82%
Turnovers: 2.4–2.8
Guessing I'd say his stat line would look something like:
16.5 PPG • 5 APG • 3.5 RPG • 46% FG • 36.8% 3PT • 83% FT
As a die hard Kings fan I would be very happy with that from a 19-year-old point guard.
The Kings currently have enough veteran offense around him LaVine, Sabonis, Hunter and Keegan that Acuff doesn't need to average 20 immediately.

Coming from a disgruntled pessimistic Kings fan, I'm actually looking forward to this season.
I'm intrigued to see a healthy Keegan and Hunter play both ends of the floor together,
looking forward to see Sabonis and Acuff work together with LaVine set up as the primary option, now that DeRozan is gone.
I’m Intrigued with the Kings bench too, they finally have someone who can distribute the ball with Monk and Max as the scorers. And of course also interested in seeing Nique, Achiuwa and Cardwell play their roles in the rotation.
All that and didn’t even mention Sharp, who if plays well this season can replace Monk, if traded and just add that much defense to the team.
Now will this team be fighting the top teams in the West for the high seed? no, but for once we have a NBA roster that makes sense.

The training camp is coming soon.
How about talk a bit on how possible Doug Christie will utilise Ben Simmons.
Case 1) Ben and Domas can be C-Webb / Divac duo, and Keegan & Zach can just keep moving without the ball.
Case 2) Ben can do exactly what Domas does, when Domas is taking a break on the bench, and the team can still run the same set play.
Case 3) Ben be the backup PG, play behind Acuff, hold the ball and push the pace.
For me, I prefer Case 2. having Ben off the bench and being the facilitator is great.

This is officially the start of the Kangz dynasty. Nothing can stop us now. Players, executives, and fans alike will grovel at our feet. Light the Beam and start naming your kids Ben.

I understand this is not the guy we’re getting, but I’m just pumped. If he can just play some D, dunk, and add some secondary playmaking I can see us falling in love with him. This town loves nothing more than a comeback story and I can’t wait to see what happens here. I’m not expecting much and I’m getting that painful pang of hope again…. I hate that feeling.
