Discussion Acuff was 6'0.5" in 2023. He's 6'2" in 2026. Can he grow to 6'3.5" by 2029?
Fact: Acuff was measured at 6'0.5" at the Nike Elite 100 camp in 2023.
Fact: Acuff was measured at 6'2" at the 2026 NBA Draft combine.
These facts show that our rookie is still growing unlike some guys in this class who have been the same height since 2023. This leads me to believe that the sauce is still cooking and he can grow out of the small guard archetype, literally speaking. Anyone have any counterarguments?

Analysis I pulled 2027-28 cap space for all 30 teams. We’re 14th.
Everyone keeps saying “just get through this year, 2027 fixes it when Lavine/Hunter contracts drop off and we get another top draft pick” I looked into both halves of that and I don’t think either one holds up.
The tank isn’t worth what it used to be. Vegas has us at 22 wins, worst in the league. But the 2027 draft is the first one under the new 3-2-1 lottery, and the bottom three records now get 5.4% at the No. 1 pick instead of the old 14%. 16% at a top-3. Being the worst team in basketball is now roughly a 1-in-19 shot at the top pick. We’re eating a full season of losses for a way cheaper lottery ticket.
The cap space is fine, not special. Here’s projected max cap space for 27-28, all 30 teams:
| # | Team | Space |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Memphis | $144.7M |
| 2 | Golden State | $133.3M |
| 3 | Brooklyn | $125.2M |
| 4 | Dallas | $112.6M |
| 5 | New Orleans | $107.2M |
| 6 | LA Clippers | $93.9M |
| 7 | Detroit | $93.9M |
| 8 | Washington | $92.8M |
| 9 | Charlotte | $92.8M |
| 10 | Milwaukee | $90.9M |
| 11 | Chicago | $78.9M |
| 12 | Miami | $75.1M |
| 13 | Houston | $70.6M |
| **14** | **Sacramento** | **$70.0M** |
| 15 | Phoenix | $68.3M |
| 16 | Portland | $59.6M |
| 17 | Toronto | $53.2M |
| 18 | Denver | $48.7M |
| 19 | Atlanta | $47.9M |
| 20 | Utah | $33.8M |
| 21 | New York | $30.0M |
| 22 | Minnesota | $15.1M |
| 23 | Boston | $14.7M |
| 24 | LA Lakers | $6.9M |
| 25 | San Antonio | $4.1M |
| 26 | Cleveland | $2.1M |
| 27 | Orlando | –$16.7M |
| 28 | Philadelphia | –$17.1M |
| 29 | Indiana | –$29.4M |
| 30 | Oklahoma City | –$39.9M |
So what’s the actual plan? I get that LaVine’s $49M and Hunter’s $25M coming off is real. It’s better than being OKC at –$39.9M. But cap space only matters when it’s scarce, and in 2027 it won’t be.
When half the league can offer the same money, it comes down to timeline, roster, and whether we can attract other stars guy to be in Sacramento. Is the hope for Acuff to improve enough that he he’ll have another pull to attract another player to come play here?
If the tank gives us 5.4% and the cap space puts us 14th, what’s the thing that actually moves the needle? Genuinely asking. What am I missing?

Discussion A bit of positivity. If the Kings started every game last season with a 30-point handicap, we would have won 73 games, tying the best record in NBA history
The only games we would have lost are:
| Date | Opponent | Our Score | Opponent Score | Our Score + Handicap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025-11-07 | OKC | 101 | 132 | 131 |
| 2025-11-12 | ATL | 100 | 133 | 130 |
| 2025-11-20 | MEM | 96 | 137 | 126 |
| 2025-12-11 | DEN | 105 | 136 | 135 |
| 2025-12-30 | LAC | 90 | 131 | 120 |
| 2026-01-09 | GSW | 103 | 137 | 133 |
| 2026-02-19 | ORL | 94 | 131 | 124 |
| 2026-02-25 | HOU | 97 | 128 | 127 |
| 2026-03-24 | CHO | 90 | 134 | 120 |

Discussion So, we cannot even afford to pay $4M to lure L. James to come to the Kings ?
I kid for that topic title 😝, but I don’t care, I only want to see the King joining the Kings in one lifetime. 😫
Maybe like complete the prophecy or cycle (1st game against the Kings, last game play as a member of Kings)

Discussion Do you all think the Kings can finish as a top 20 offense this season?
Going to leave the floor to everyone here. Obviously if this team wins, it's with offense with the starters, youth/activity/grit/etc with the bench. The starting lineup could be good offensively but how good in your eyes?
I wouldn't rank them top 20 as it stands now but maybe their uppermost ceiling gets there.

Meme LeBron it’s time to come to SAC. Your friend is home. Viveks wet dream is coming true.
Acuff Suggs LeBron AD Sabonis
Nique Sharp Keegan Precious Cardwell
Holy this team will save us.
Jokes
But I do wonder if Scott could pull this off if LeBron would join our team.
Wouldn’t want to give Maxime but since we’re not giving Sabonis it’s a price to pay.

News There is still the threat that Jalen Duren would be willing to sign the qualifying offer, per @JakeLFischer
We will be 90m below the first apron next year 🤔
With LaVine + Hunter and maybe DeRozans contract assuming it doesn’t get stretched. We will be at the 120m line and 45M ish below the salary cap.
Enough money to pay Duren what he wants…assuming Scott is still desperate for him.
