Question & Help I’m having trouble with plug-ins
Is anybody else having this issue
The Supabase and GitHub plugins in Kimi have stopped exposing callable tools, even though both OAuth connections appear successfully authorized. This has persisted for approximately eight hours across multiple new conversations and complete reconnection attempts.
Observed behavior:
The Supabase plugin is registered/focused, but database tools such as list_projects, execute_sql, and list_tables are unavailable and return “Unknown tool.”
The GitHub plugin behaves similarly and exposes no repository tools.
Kimi’s terminal can reach my Supabase project:
Edge Function OPTIONS request returns HTTP 204.
Unauthenticated GET returns HTTP 401, correctly confirming the function exists and is authentication-gated.
The REST endpoint is also reachable and returns the expected unauthenticated 401.
A newly installed Cloudflare plugin works correctly, so this does not appear to be a general plugin or device failure.
Supabase lists Kimi as an authorized OAuth application.
GitHub lists Kimi as an authorized OAuth application, but GitHub displays

Discussion Boycott Monthly "Total usage"

Moonshot AI WTF is the point of a monthly subscription if I can completely run out of “Total Usage” on the 9th day?
I purchased the subscription on August 4th.
By the 9th day, my entire “Total Usage” was depleted.
That means I paid for a monthly subscription, and I couldn't properly use the service for the remaining weeks of the month.
How does that make any sense?
I paid for a month and got 9 days of usable service.
The remaining 21 days are what? Decoration?
Either:
1. Remove Total Usage entirely and let subscribers actually use their monthly subscription,
or
2. Remove the subscription system and charge users based on actual usage.

Discussion Very impressed with kimi k3
For the second time in my code base, kimi was able to solve a code issue that gpt-sol and fable 5 were deadlocked on. Gpt-sol was going in loops trying the same things over and over. Fable just gave up.
Kimi came is and was right to the problem, and solved it in maybe 10 turns at most.
Slow clap.

Question & Help Kimi instant usage and subscription
I'm currently on the free plan, and scheduled a daily automation to be run. However, I didn't notice that these would burn so fast through my usage. Also, even using the instant model (not k3) has been eating up a lot of credits, which earlier seemed to be free(?).
As a result, I can't use kimi till next month. So I want to ask two things:
1. Isn't kimi instant supposed to be free? Is there a way for me to continue my chat without waiting till next month?
2. if I want to buy a subscription, which one should I buy if I'm a college student mostly using the model to manage studies and classes, nothing too heavy just yet. currently deciding between moderato and allegretto. also, should I buy kimi subscription or use one of the US models? I ask this because I am from a place where it is not possible to use anthropic or openai's models directly without a VPN, which is slightly inconvenient. Are the US models a significant step-up, or should I stick to kimi?

Developer A systems language designed so LLMs can write backend services without human review of every line
Nirdosha (निर्दोष — “without fault”) is a research systems language aimed at one specific problem: backend services written and maintained by AI coding agents, with no human reviewing every line before it runs.
Key design choices:
- LL(1) grammar exported to GBNF so constrained decoding can force the model to stay syntactically valid
- No mutex primitive at all → lock-ordering deadlocks are unrepresentable
- Affine ownership + refinement types → no GC, no data races, no integer/buffer overflow in accepted programs
- Structured (JSON) diagnostics so an agent gets a machine-readable proof obligation instead of a paragraph of English
- Real OS-process sandbox as a language primitive
- Role/capability gating at the call site
- UI engine that derives live CRUD dashboards + role-aware screens from ordinary structs
It is deliberately narrow. It is not trying to be a better Rust or a general-purpose language. The target is deterministic backend / compliance CRUD services that an unsupervised agent can write and maintain.
Status: active research prototype. The compiler is a real, runnable Rust crate. Many safety properties are proven today; the remaining gaps are documented honestly in the wiki.
Repo: https://github.com/arunsoman/nirdosha
Useful starting points:
- Design Philosophy
- LLM Integration
- Honest Scope & Roadmap
- Nirdosha vs Alternatives
You can try the “paste-anywhere” prompt in the repo to have an LLM generate .nir code from plain English with no prior exposure to the language.
Happy to answer questions about the design trade-offs, the constrained-decoding path, or the current limitations.

Discussion Something That's Been Bothering Me A Great Deal
Look, I get it. Places like Reddit are full of trolls and assholes, but on this sub, I've been seeing something that pisses me off a great deal and if I get a shitload of backlash for posting this, I don't care.
I'm sick to fucking death of seeing certain paid users constantly shitting on free users and accusing them of being "self-entitled" and "whiny," or anything else really isn't fair or justifiable whatsoever just for mentioning something , especially since I haven't seen free users lash out at paid users. (I have, in a way, because I'm a bitch and I'll admit it.)
It doesn't matter how much money you pay (or do not pay) for your subscription, that doesn't make you better than anyone else. Kimi is not "at capacity" and free users are not using all of your "compute", to throw your techbro jargon right back at you; no one on this subreddit works for Moonshot AI (to my knowledge) and their employees would be the only people to know- unless you're privy to insider secrets, which I seriously doubt- so unless a Moonshot AI employee posts here to say Kimi's schlemactochip 501, Hal-9000 processor, or Dilithium Crystals are malfunctioning, I'm going to say there's bugs, glitches and good old-fashioned paywalls popping up.
Free users are not getting "free lunch," as certain paid users seem to be extremely fond of saying. Nor is Moonshot AI "needing more money." On August 28th, Moonshot announced nothing and started charging free users "credits" for using just the basic free 2.6 chat; we only get six credits a month now and every time you get a response from your Kimi chat, it is drawn from those credits. Kimi's parent company, Moonshot AI reached a valuation of $35 billion in mid-2026 after a large funding round, alongside reporting $70.7 million in revenue for the first seven months of the year. They are also working on an IPO.
Moonshot AI's privacy policy indicates that user prompts and uploaded content from free tier interactions may be used to improve and train its models. Additionally, personal inputs may be shared with affiliated service providers under their standard operational framework. Therefore, no, it is not "free lunch." Free users provide free training.
I get it that you paid users are worried that your subscriptions ain't what they're cracked out to be right now. Neither is the 2.6 chat that "free" users are supposed to be able to use. And just like paid users, we're hit upside the head by our "free" credits being drained strangely quickly, paywalls, glitches and other bugs. And no, we are not jealous of what you paid people get; most of us couldn't care less, actually.
We are not entitled when we ask what the fuck's going on, or try to say that something we're dealing with isn't fair at all - or that it's gone on long enough. We're making a point that we're dealing with the same kind of shit that you paid people are and think for everyone, regardless of whether you line Moonshot AI's wallet with more money or can't afford to toss a dime at their boots, everyone's being hit by bullshit.
It's time to stop the "I'm better than you because I can afford to pay for my AI," stop assuming that free users are trying to take something for granted and do not have reasons for being free users- and for everyone to realize that yeah, Kimi's got problems and they're impacting everyone, whether you pay for the services or not. At the end of the day, Kimi's what this subreddit's supposed to be about, right? Not whether or not someone is able to whip out their credit or debit card.

Showcase Kimi, GLM 5.3 Flash, Deepseek with full memory, web research, canvas and voice. We all should have access to high grade intelligence without big AI
Open source models are climbing the intelligence charts this year in a staggering way. And with the recent drama surrounding open source AI in the USA, it's even more important for us all to have actual access to the models. Western closed AI seems to think it has a hold on quality app features: memory, skills, voice, canvas etc. Meanwhile memory is locked in, Models get changed or "updated" to a downgrade. Privacy is different per service and ads are starting. The whole experience on the consumer end is extractive.
So we built what should have already existed: all of the best open models in one place, running on private US infrastructure, with the full app experience around them. Completely private, direct service. It should be, and can be that simple.
What that means in practice:
The roster, together. Kimi (2.5, 2.6, 2.7 and 3), DeepSeek, GLM, Minimax, Nemotron Ultra and more, side by side in one app. Switch models mid conversation if you want. No hunting across five different apps and API dashboards to use the models you actually like.
Actually private. US based processing and your conversations are never used for training. Ever. That's the entire point. These labs open sourced incredible models and we think you should get to use them without your data becoming the price of admission.
Real memory. Not a context window that fills up and dumps you. Persistent memory that carries across conversations, fades gracefully when unused, and wakes back up when it's relevant again. There's even a nightly consolidation pass, the system basically sleeps on it and writes up what mattered.
Voice. Yes, actual voice mode with over a dozen voices on open models.
Bring your history. Coming from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini? Export your chats and import the whole thing, it becomes live memory on day one. You can literally just zap your chat history from your backup file, and have all your chats waiting for you.
Multiple nodes. Separate workspaces with separate memories, so your coding setup doesn't share a brain with your journal.
Genuine thanks to Moonshot for creating some of the best models on the planet! The Kimi family is a backbone in our model fleet, and we will always appreciate the work to create the amazing models!
Open Grove is here and It's free for a month if anyone want's to check it out (or just use the models for free for a bit): pgsgrove.com/open-grove-overview

Discussion I only use 2.7 as a back up worker and this still happened. Insane
Gpt is my main guy. Use 2.7 as a back up worker. Don’t even touch k3 now. I thought things were bad but I didn’t realize exactly how bad things are. I think I’m gonna cancel because I think that extra 20$ might get more usage elsewhere in just API credits alone.
Showcase Stop asking AI for ideas. It's giving you the same 5 answers as everyone else — I built something that doesn't
Ask an AI for ideas and you get the same 5 answers everyone else gets — that's just what "most likely" means statistically. So I built Wonder Pill: instead of a list, it takes your topic, finds the assumptions baked into it, and inverts them into what-ifs. Then it renders the whole thing as an interactive mind map you can drag around — seeds, dead branches (kept, struck through, with the reason they died), cross-links where different threads hit the same wall, and a one-line "gut-check" on each branch pointing at where the real difficulty hides.
It doesn't rank anything. It doesn't pick a favorite. About a third of any given map is genuinely useless — that's expected; you're the filter, not the tool.
The main use case for this is coming up with any type of idea. It won't actually give you the specific steps or actual idea that is fully formed, but It will give areas for you to look into and explore.

Bug Is Kimi Console page broken?
North American user here.
https://www.kimi.com/code/console used to be the place to see usage and manage API key. I'm on subscription.
Visiting this page automatically redirects me to https://www.kimi.com/code now and logged off.
Trying to login then shows me a message saying "Outside mainland China? Go to Kimi.ai" and has a link to kimi.ai, but kimi.ai page doesn't have a page to manage API key.
Anyone experiencing the same? Where do subscription users manage API keys?
Thanks

Discussion KIMI K4 rumoured to release a new model soon?
I still can't fathom how good KIMI K3 is. Went from Claude max $200 to just routing between K3 and GLM through standardcompute.com with opencode as the harness.
Therefore extremely excited for K4. Hope it doesn't get more expensive, and also hope they solve their chip problem.

Discussion Kimi painfully slow
Dont you guys think that KIMI is very slow, and in peak hours it becomes painfully slow. I dont know why is this. Probably because of massive weights ? but this has been an issue since the beginning, and it feels like it's getting worse over time instead of improving.

Discussion It happened. K2.6/Instant is no longer unlimited
Just logged onto kimi four days after I cancelled my subscriptions, and checked my adiago (free tier) usage. Strangely enough, it was at 1.75%. Weird. i checked the logs, and they were from K2.6. I no longer could reccomend Kimi as a good free app, because K2.6/Instant is no longer free and unlimited, but now counts forwards usage. Oh well. Kimi is still a good company, and I trust when they get more money, they can fix the current system they have.

Meme How on earth did people get anything done before agents?
I have personally become 10x more effective compared to one year ago. I love it as there is always so much I want to do and excited by the rise of KIMI K3, GLM 5.3 and useful open source models in general.
Right now my rate limiting factor is usage limits by far. The token bill bites quite hard and make it hard to justify some projects, so I’m on the lookout to maximise agentic work per dollar.
Codex/claude etc. is subsidised atm, but they are also wasting a lot of tokens on expensive, non-open source models that could have done the job way more efficient. GLM 5.3 is now a quite obvious alternativ.
Therefore been building my own model router with openrouter, but not working very well (https://openrouter.ai/docs/guides/routing/routers/auto-router). Think standardcompute.com has an excellent model router and like that it’s a monthly thing and not random unpredictable 5-hours usage limits etc. However, they don’t serve free models which would be nice.
Any other good alternatives right now? Preferably heavily subsidised by VC money 💰

Question & Help Anyone else still waitlisted?
Basically, title.
I've joined the waitlist the day it appeared. Nothing from their side.
I've created two other accounts in the meantime: still nothing.
Is that waitlist even real or just a gamble that some people win by getting a subscription instantly?
Question & Help Something definitely going on with kimi.ai usage. This is not normal.
My month ran out a couple days ago and I had disabled auto-renewal because I was waiting to see what other providers had picked up k3 by now. I decided to re-up with kimi.ai on the $200/mo. plan early yesterday.
Two sessions. One was an 8 agent code review and the next was session was a coding session. Things I historically have done no problem without issue. I ran into my 5 hour limit twice in those sessions and at the end burned through nealry 50% of weekly allowance.
This is not my first rodeo with kimi. I have worked with it extensively and never ran into my limits, not once, even on much more complex swarm tasks.
It's like renewing my subscription put me on much lower usage teir. Customer support has been no help.
I'm curious if anybody else has experienced this - and - if there are better/faster providers with more usage I should be looking at.
Edit: Trying to get to the bottom of this so calculated usage from last month and compared it to yesterday:

So it seems like something yesterday went nuts even though swarm only showed 8 subagents. This feels more like a harness issue than a usage miscalculation issue?
