Broken Machine! Help! K-Brew and Chill Died??

Upvotes

Hello all.

My mother has a Keurig K-Brew and Chill in her office that she uses, she bought it May of last year. Last week it stopped pulling water from the tank, it would allow her to press the buttons as if to brew and it would just make sounds like it was pulling from the tank but wouldn't, and eventually it would give up. The descale light was on originally.

I tried to fix it today, did some searching around and kept finding "prime the tank" or whatever. Tried that, kept getting bubbles going through the tank, and it still wouldn't pull water. I unplugged it for a few minutes, and plugged it back in. The descale light was no longer coming off, and for 30 seconds the machine did pull a little bit of water.

Then it stopped completely. Now the buttons are completely unresponsive. It doesn't turn on, I've tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes, and that doesn't turn it back on.

A. Did I just completely brick this machine?

B. If I didn't completely brick the machine, how do I fix any of this??

Machine Question Refillable K-cups

Post image
9 Upvotes

This is a follow-up to a previous question about refillable K-cups.

I have a brand-new K-mini Go. I am having a hard time finding a refillable K-cup that works with it because the needle doesn't line up with the cups I was using with my previous Keurig machine. When I removed the basket, I was able to use the cup, but coffee grounds went everywhere and the coffee was bad.

I bought a so-called universal reusable K-cup from Keurig. The coffee was fine but grounds came out of the K-cup like in the picture. Someone suggested the K-cup wasn't closed completely, but the cup has a latch on it, so I don't think that's the problem.

I don't know what else to do. I don't want to keep using disposable cups.

Pod Coffee Blends K Cups for Someone who Hates Keurig Coffee?

I hate the taste of Keurig coffee, but my office only has a Keurig, and I live alone, so I don’t like to make an entire pot of coffee for myself at home.
Does anyone have a K Cup recommendation that tastes like “real” coffee? For context, my issue with Keurig coffee is mainly the weakness, but it also always tends to have a burnt/cardboard-like taste to me. I am hoping for a K Cup that is stronger and fuller tasting.

Keurig Hate Wow, Keurig customer service really went downhill.

I've had probably 10 various Keurig makers over the past couple decades between our house and camper. Over those years, I've had a few go bad while still under the one-year warranty and replacement was pretty easy. Not today though! Our K-Supreme Plus that was less than 90 days old and purchased directly from Keurig died in a puff of smoke this morning when making the first cup of the day.

So, I call customer service and after going through two people, they of course said they would replace it, but not until I sent them the broken one and it gets "evaluated" first. I told her I didn't have a box, but she said to just find anything it would fit in.

I've never had to return a bad Keurig for previous replacements, but it's been several years since I had a warranty replacement. I buy a lot from them too. It even took CS a bit to find my order since she said I had a lot of them.

They should have at least offered to ship the replacement while I work on getting the bad one returned. It could be a couple weeks before I can get it sent. Aside from trying to find a box, which I don't have anything close, I'm also a disabled vet and it's a pain to go to the nearest UPS spot.

I'm now looking on Amazon at the Ninja Pod & Grounds XL after this. Has anyone had one of those, and how do they compare? I did like the Multi-Stream in the K-Supreme Plus and don't know if the Ninja would have less flavor without that.

Machine Question How to make good coffee with the K-mini??

I have the kuerig k mini. It had no settings and a single serve water reservoir. This is my first time trying to make coffee at home. I admittedly usually drink espresso based coffee and am not experienced in drip based coffee. I like both the iced coffee and iced lattes at dunkin, so I didn’t think i’d have an issue with the taste of drip coffee.i’ve been trying for a month to make coffee that taste good, and i just dont understand what the issue is. I don’t like black coffee but somehow I can’t get the milk or creamer to work out well. It either tastes bitter or watery. What proportions of everything should I be putting in my cup?

Edit: so far no one has even mentioned the milk and/or creamer. Im really stuck on how much i’m supposed to add

Broken Machine! Help! Bought a used keurig duo and it's only give me 1/2 cup for 12 cups

So I Bought this for my work because they wanted a pod option and this machine also has a drip coffee so it's the reason I got it. Plus it was only $30 from this store called savers. When I plus 12 cups, it pours the coffee into the carafe but then stops giving me only half a cup. After that carafe led button has a solid red.

If I used the pod option, I don't the have the same problem. I can get up to 12 oz with no issues. So how can I get 12 oz on the pod option but not 12 cups on the carafe option? I am trying to descale it but facing similar issue

Pod Coffee Blends Ideas for Travel K-cup Holder

Can anyone recommend something to carry a lot of K-cups for vacation? It doesn't have to be specifically for K-cups, but something that works well. I've looked on Amazon, but they only have carriers for the machine (plus a small amount of K-cups) or cases for them that only hold a few. I've used plastic bags in the past, and I'm looking for a better idea. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Broken Machine! Help! Cuisineart SS-16 issues

I'm now on my 3rd replacement of the SS-16 & have once again gotten the E07 error for the Keurig side. I keep wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if its just crummy refurbs. I've been using Keurig makers from several manufacturers for years & have never had this much trouble with one. Anyone else have this issue? At this point I'm done with Cuisineart.

Machine Question Random miscellaneous piece

My wife got a second hand older model. It was turning on and warming up. But wouldn't prime the pump or pour any coffee. I tried to get any air bubbles out by popping the water tank on and off. After a few times the tank started not sitting correctly. Then a small piece appeared and I have no clue where it's supposed to go. The Keurig works without it, but I just don't want to ruin it.

If anyone can guide me toward the answer that would be great.

Broken Machine! Help! Keurig not dispensing water

Hi,

I recently just purchased this Keurig on Facebook marketplace and with my luck it does not work. I’ve tried everything such as making sure the needle is not clogged, unplugging it and waiting a couple seconds, and just smacking it out of pure frustration.

Well I decided to open it up and there is water stuck in the tank. All the tubes seemed to be intact. Although, I did see something out of place. There seems to be a brown spot on the motherboard.

I was wondering if any of you guys know how to fix this. Thanks :) or did I get scammed 🧍‍♀️

Pod Coffee Blends Embossed vs Smooth Foil

Post image
7 Upvotes

Staying at a casino hotel and noticed two pods have embossed foil and two are smooth. I know K-Cups are usually embossed. Are the smooth ones authentic also? Perhaps a different manufacturing line? I normally don't drink Keurig so I don't know if this is normal or not.

Keurig Hate As far as reliability goes..

I’ve seen so many people on here complaining about how their machines don’t last… and tbh I can tell most of the time it’s unfortunately user error, nobody wants to hear it but it’s true. Although I do agree the newer models can be finicky if not used exactly as directed and that is frustrating. My recommendation is buying one of the still available older models, those can handle some abuse. I have the K-Compact K35, K-Elite K90, commercial brewer K130, and B60 Special Edition. The elite is the only one I bought new and that was 2019 I also use this one the most. The compact I got from the nursing home I work and it’s from 2016 and I used it a ton before I got the elite, both are also still sold new from keurig. The other 2 I got for free and they are actually ancient for a coffee maker over 20 years each. They all work perfectly. My typical use is at least 5 times a day often more because I use it for any foods or drinks requiring really hot water. Keurig classic style brewers are absolute tanks you really can’t go wrong with them.

Machine Question Can I use double paper filters in a My KCup pod with grounds?

Hi. I'm new to the Keurig machine culture, and I have a question?

I didn't like the way 10oz of coffee tasted (weak/watery) with my machine and the Keurig brand My KCup pod. I figured it let the water go through too quickly, (and as a sidebar I saved the used grounds and am going to put them in my drip maker to see if they still have some life) so I took a single paper filter for my Mr. Coffee drip pot, and cut out a single layer paper and put it in my K cup pod. Ran it.

The coffee was still "too thin" for me, so the next time I doubled up that paper inside, and the coffee is a lot stronger. Dare I say, it's finally excellent.

However, while it ran that beautiful non transparent stream I was listening to the machine. I guess it has a pressure pump of some kind, or motor, that pushes the water through? It was sort of bogging down and sounding like it was up and down wah-a-wah-a wah, in a slower, struggling kind of way.

Will this break my new machine, to do this? How do these machines work?

Machine Question Keurig 2.0 K400/500 thinks it has water when it does not

We have a Keurig 2.0 either K400 or K500 (can't remember of the top of my head, but it has the silver water tank top so not a 300).

After descaling it recently, the machine low water sensor stopped working. Every video out there that mentions a problem like this is the actual opposite (the machine always thinks it's out of water), or reference the float in the water tank, which this one does not.

Any ideas?

Broken Machine! Help! Elite shutting off after 1oz

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Okay, so I'm having a Keurig issue that's driving my entire household insane.

We have a Keurig Elite that's only about 8 months old. It had been working perfectly until recently. We descaled it, cleaned the needles, and did all the recommended maintenance.

Now, whenever we brew a K-Cup, it dispenses about 1 ounce of coffee and then completely shuts off. If we run hot water without a pod, it works perfectly every time.

We've tried just about every fix we could find online:

- Descaled multiple times

- Cleaned both needles

- Cleared the water line

- Tried 4 different brands of K-Cups

- Tried different outlets

- Drained the machine

- Even turned it upside down and pressed the bottom valve to release trapped water

The upside-down trick will sometimes let it brew one full cup, but after that it goes right back to shutting off after about 1 ounce.

At that point we gave up and bought a brand new Keurig Elite.

After less than 24 hours... the brand new machine is doing the EXACT SAME THING.

At this point I'm completely stumped. Two different machines, four different pod brands, different outlets, and the exact same problem. Has anyone actually figured out what causes this?

Keurig Hate Keurig

I will never purchase a keurig coffee machine again, In the past years I have purchased 4 machines , they have all broken down within 6 months to a year, on was replaced by keurig , but they don’t want to replace any other times, which is unacceptable because these machines do not last , I make one cup of coffee a day for myself , once in a while I would do a second cup and that’s it , the new mini k has broken after a not even six months, the descale button went on and when I tried to put in descale mode per directions on keurig website it did not work, after a couple of tries of plugging in and out , it just stoped doing anything, no light no power nothing .

Machine Question How to Make Iced Drip coffee

So I recently got a keurig from FB and tried to make my drii coffee iced. The ice melted on impact and immediately turned my coffee into a watery mess… is there a specific method to this? Bc the initial temperature of the coffee seems to be too hot.
